2 bedroom plus loft, spacious deck overlooking the peaceful, screen-in porch, crystal clear lake and private beach, private log cabin, full amenities including washer and dryer, full kitchen with all appliances, one of the clearest and cleanest lakes in Minnesota.
A unique cabin hide-a-way set in the majestic deep Minnesota woods with a private sandy beach, fire pit and true nature. Pontoon rental is available for $450/week or $80/day...please let me know if you want to add it..

Great for nature walks, relaxing, watching sunsets on the lake, and always good fishing. Enjoy the loon calls and lots of wildlife. Special boat conditions: any boats must be cleaned and certified as free of invasive species and jet skies are not allowed. Furry friends are welcome as long as they are good with other people and dogs (we have free ranging friendly dogs).
Our goal is to provide a outstanding 5 star experience for your trip with us so please reach out with any specific needs or questions about the space.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds, gather used towels, and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
If you rented the pontoon, please put down the Bemini if it was put up and pick up any trash on the boat. Leave key in boat.
If you used the canoe or kayak, please make sure they are flipped upside down and wooden canoe paddles are brought to the basement.

This property is very private and it gives you a cozy cabin feeling with a awesome screened gazebo, it was perfect for our family vacation, The lake was beautiful in the morning, You could listen to the loons and also the eagles, the water was perfect. Would definitely stay there again next summer

Wonderful lake get away spot. The cabin was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The water is crystal clear and the fishing was top notch. We had such a nice relaxing vacation here with our family, the kids enjoyed swimming and fishing. Plenty of room for rhe dogs to roam and the screened in porch was the perfect spot for an afternoon nap. We would love to visit again!

Penny, was very responsive to messages and had everything super clean when we arrived. She is extremely friendly and allowed us to rent the boat kind of last minute. She was very friendly, polite, and cool with our dogs. We had a great time at her cabin. I would definitely stay here again! It was the perfect retreat we were looking for! Thank you Penny!!! Luna said thank you for the sand to dig in and Cooper loved laying in the yard and sleeping on the pontoon while Luna and I fished. The stars at night were amazing!!!

This is a majestically perfect getaway. The availability of trails, trees and lake on this semi-secluded property was refreshing and amazing. The internet is very unreliable due to the carrier, so this isn't the place to work from. The property host, Penny, is amazing to work with. Property has essentially everything you need to unpack and enjoy the peace. Property needs a little exterior cleanup to access the firepit, however, everything is as described and wonderful. 10 out of 10 recommend this place.

Overall, we had a good stay and made some wonderful memories here. The lake is beautiful and clear, the setting is peaceful, the beds were comfortable, and the screened porch was absolutely our favorite part of the property. My husband had fantastic fishing, and we enjoyed renting the pontoon. Penny also provided helpful information about the lake.Unfortunately, cleanliness and maintenance kept this from being a 5-star stay. Most concerning was the shower, which was by far the least-clean shower I’ve encountered in a vacation rental. There was substantial grime and orange/pink slimy buildup on the grout and around the caulking. I ultimately found cleaner and scrubbed it myself before I was comfortable using it.We also encountered numerous nonworking/missing lights, extremely poor shower water pressure, a damaged/wobbly kitchen island, broken areas on the front stoop and dock, and a toaster that would not shut off/pop up properly and had to be unplugged. Advertised toiletries were an assortment of partially used products. There is also virtually no cell service, which guests should know before arriving.I shared these concerns privately with the host after our stay and unfortunately received no response. There is a lot to love here, but the cabin needs more attention to cleaning, maintenance, safety and guest privacy to match the price and beautiful setting.

Beautiful cabin on the lake

We had a great time during our stay. The cabin is very clean and updated, and communication with Penny was fantastic. The screened-in porch was a definite bonus for our family. All in all a great spot!

A Great Pace

We enjoyed our time at this secluded cabin. The fishing and lake were excellent. The cabin was clean and up to date. Our host was very responsive and helpful. I would recommend this spot if you want to get away from the everyday rush that life brings.

Northern getaway

Beautiful setting and accommodations

Loved this peaceful get-away! The beach and water are perfect for floating and relaxing, the woods and nearby areas are lovely for exploring, the beds and bedding are top-notch, kitchen is fully stocked. Inside and out---this place had everything we were looking for! Penny is the best host, very attentive and accommodating. We hope to return soon!

My parents came to sugarbush when I was a youngster more than 30 some years ago and I now have a home there as do many of my relatives. It was such a gift to know and love this lake. I also own the local winery, Richwood Winery, and spend most of the summer in paradise.

Why they chose this property

My parent's home is special as it has a sandy beach , which is rare in this tree-lined , often steep banked lake. It is has been completely updated to provide modern conveniences while keeping the charm of the log cabin in the woods that my parents created.

What makes this property unique

One of the cleanest lakes in Minnesota. Pontoon available for rent (the preferred method of cruising the lake), a canoe and kayak available for free on the beach, very quiet and isolated on a private dead end road. Dogs are welcome and because it is so isolated, most have been able to freely run round without worry. Fiber Internet, Netflix, UTube TV, blue ray are also there if you want it.
To be on one of the best swimming lakes in Minnesota with abundant wild life is an experience I want to share with others.
