About the property

Great proximity to everything! Skiing, shopping, strolling, wining or dining!!

River Mountain Lodge is a European style lodge located in the heart of Breckenridge. It's a quick 8 minute walk to the Gondola to get you up to the mountain or there is the free bus stop right in front of the lodge that will take you anywhere you need to go in Breckenridge or Summit County. The 4 O'clock ski run ends just cross the street, you can painlessly end your day and go feet up in the Fireside Lounge maybe 30 steps from the condo door. The condo is a very short walk from the middle of Main Street, meaning all of the restaurants, bars, and shopping that Breckenridge has to offer are at your fingertips...no driving or parking required (underground parking for you!). Walk out the back and walk along the Blue River, or walk across the pedestrian bridge and find yourself in the center of town.

It is a true mountain get-a-way, winter or summer. You will not find a better situated studio in Breck.

About Jim

We are Colorado natives and spent two years looking for just the right place in Breckenridge. Fed up with the I-70 traffic, we knew that others would be interested in finding a way to avoid the crowds! We sincerely hope you will want to visit again and again. Winter or summer, it is one of the best places in Colorado within an hour and a half of Denver.

Jim purchased this condo in 2014

Why Jim chose Breckenridge

There are four reasons we love this location:

1. We are located in the best part of town. Close to the gondola, shops, and restaurants with all the character of the original mining town. You can park your car downstairs in the garage and get anywhere you like by foot or shuttle. It's like you found your own gold nugget!

2. River Mountain Lodge has all the amenities you could think of! You don't even need to get on the elevator to get to the pool, hot tubs, grills, ski valet, front desk or fitness center, or the Fireside Lounge. Relax knowing that you don't have to mow the lawn or shovel the walk!

3. Ski to the end of the Four O'clock run, pop you skis off, walk across the street and you are home.

4. We wanted to offer you a place at the center of everything at a good value. Have your friends join you for a drink in the lounge, without having to live with their crazy bathroom routines! Have them grab their own room!

Loved it

The location is extremely convenient, to town and the slopes. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. The condo is a large studio and completely furnished, lacking nothing. I'm sure that we will stay there on our next trip to Breck.

Owner's Response: We are just barely into August, and you are already talking about the winter again. Sounds like you had a great time last spring. Bet you like it even better in the "heat" of the winter. Cheers!

Awesome location!

  • 4 of 5

The property location was very close to everything! We didn't really need a car for anything. The shuttle stop is right outside the front door. The ski rental company we used is right next door and the Four O'Clock ski run ends right across the street so it makes it easy to get to the property. Main Street is a very short walk and there are plenty of dining options if you don't want to use the kitchen. Jim was very helpful with instructions and directions. I would definitely come back!

Owner's Response: Rob, I am so glad you had a good time. It was great that the snow and skiing lasted so long this spring. It gave almost an extra month of time to get up there. Hope to have you back again this winter.

Nice, clean place, excellent amenities from lodge, very convenient

  • 4 of 5

Very nice studio- good value for 2 people. Use of hot tubs, pool, lounge, garage of lodge (condo within River Lodge) a real plus. Literally across the street from the end of 4 o'clock run- super convenient, but getting access to mountain in am is a fifteen minute walk to gondola. Short walk to Main Street and restaurants/shops- Briar Rose for steaks and Giapiettos for pizza are both down the block- 5 min. Recommend highly

Owner's Response: We are looking forward to having our two boys leave for college. It works for the 4 of us, but they are getting to be pretty big guys. Two people seems like a better "empty nest" situation. Glad it worked well for you and hope to see you again for the skiing.

Great Studio and location is everything!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great little Studio condo! It slept the 2 of us and our 9 year old son very comfortably.

Everything you need for a week in the mountains and location, location, location! Less than a 5 minute walk to get on the Gondola, and at the end of the day we snowboarded down 4 O Clock run to the end, took off our boards, and literally crossed the street to the front door of the Lodge.

Centrally located, we walked everywhere- restaurants, shops, Breck Brewery, oxygen bar (much needed- lol) - once we parked the car on arrival we never needed it again.

The owner Jim was very helpful and very accommodating, as we had an unexpected "snowed-in" type situation. He went above and beyond!

Would definitely stay again, can't wait until next time!!!!

Owner's Response: Diedre, So glad you had a good time. Your description of the location of the condo is perfect. We spent quite awhile looking for a central location that had the right mix of amenities. It sounds like you experienced most of the features! I am glad we had an extended season of snow so you and your family could experience the great snowboarding as well. Come back in the summer with your mountain bikes! Cheers

Great condo in the heart of Breckenridge

  • 4 of 5

The condo is perfectly situated between the 4 o'clock run (ski-in) and mainstreet. It is a short walk to the Gondola and City Market (grocery store). There is also a Free Ride bus stop right across the street.

Inside the condo, you have plenty of room to cook, sleep, watch a movie, or get ready to go out on the town. We enjoyed our stay at this condo and will definitely be returning...thanks Jim!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review Thomas. Glad everything in unit worked well. We spent quite awhile looking for a nice, clean, simple studio, but with a great location. Each time I ski down Four O'clock run and pop my skis off just across the street, I feel like we were pretty successful. In the summer, the river, the concert park, and the proximity to downtown are equally pleasant. Maybe we can get you up there again this summer? Thank you for your business.

Great condo, location, and owner!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd stay at River Mountain Lodge but our first rental through Jim. The location is perfect – a block away from town, bus stops beside and across the street (no need to walk far in those cumbersome ski boots), and the 4 O’Clock run to ski home after a long day on the slopes is across the street. The condo was clean, well equipped, and very quiet. The murphy bed was comfortable. The “leftover” spices, coffee, etc. were a nice surprise. The owner, Jim, is extremely responsive and helpful. This condo and owner get top marks! Don’t hesitate to stay here!!

Owner's Response: Denise, Thank you very much for such a nice review. The location is top notch, for all the reason you outlined. But I am not sure the owner is as good as you think. I know him pretty well and he does make some mistakes sometimes (it is hard being blond)! I am glad everything was to your liking. However, I am sure it can be better, so please pass on any improvement ideas you might have so we will be ready for you next visit! :) Thanks again.
