A stone's throw from the best part of Playa de Muro's long beach
The apartment was first class, nicely laid out and very easy to move straight in and live in. Plus, all the little things that may go unnoticed to some were appreciated by us - for example: plug-in mosquito repellent for each room, english/euro plug adapters, a loo seat insert for my 5 year old, shower gel, washing up liquid. The kitchen was well kitted out too - e.g. orange squeezer (great to exploit the island's fantastic supply of delicious oranges). There are an array of novels on the shelves for most tastes (in 3 languages: german, english, russian). Even though there is a beach only 100m from the place the pool is a very nice option and the children liked to use it in the morning and evenings.
On the negative side, I have nothing to say really that should have any reflection on the owner or management of this property. I only have the following observations:
- the shower in the bathroom did not really work very well as the switch-over mechanism between bath and shower states did not work properly
- The coffee machine glass jug needs mending/replacing. The handle is soon going to fall off as it is held on by only the lower fixing, and could scold someone.
- The glass doors are lovely in that they flood the place in light, but it is easy to not 'see' them and walk straight into them! What about a simple transfer or sticker on the eyeline. My 2 year old ploughed into the door at full throttle. Many tears.
- The buzzer/intercom at the gate does not work.
In terms of management, it was easy to gain access when we turned up in the middle of the night and any queries, albeit few in number, were dealt with quickly. We were able to stay later on our last day as there were no guests following us, which was a God-send, and we are extremely grateful for (Thank You!).
The only fly in the ointment for me was that I had no idea the significance of 'parking incorrectly'. I put one tyre on a yellow line upon returning from the supermarket one evening because the road was really pretty full and I didn't have many options. The next morning my car had gone! Towed away in the night. The police later explained that one of the residents living opposite had a double garage that needed access and my car was obstructing their access. PLEASE explain the risks of this in the literature in the property! The whole thing cost me 176 Euros (76 towing + 200euros commuted to 100 for prompt payment), which is by far the most i have ever paid for a parking ticket
