Pollak Legacy Condo at Windcliff: Panoramic RMNP Views, Wildlife, Huge LR/FP, Wildlife

Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 5 nights

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Welcome to Pollak --- a duplex mountain vacation home strategically situated in prestigious Windcliff Estates to maximize your enjoyment of the mountain vistas spread before it. Virtually the entire western façade of Pollak is comprised of windows. And, spread before you upon entering the residence is the majestic Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park. The Tyndall glacier lies snuggled between the jagged elevations of Hallett Peak and the formidable mass of Flattop Mountain. The crest of the mountains poking at the sky is the western Continental Divide of the North American continent. Try to appreciate that you are a custodian of all that you see, because these mountains are cradled within the embrace of one of our favorite, and collectively-held, National Parks!

Pollak is singularly spacious and airy. Two wonderfully-inviting, split-level living areas compete for your attention and patronage. The lower living level boasts a wood-burning fireplace and a sprawling hearth. An artful array of copper utensils adds charming accents. Ample comfortable seating for everyone in residence is arranged to take in the view or absorb the warmth of a crackling fire. A splendid weaving by Native American hands adorns the south wall. Treasured Indian artifacts speak to us of the Arapaho and the Ute hunting bands whose feet left gentle tracks upon this landscape long before our arrival. There is additional seating over in the library corner where a collection of music awaits your enjoyment. You may handily connect to WiFi in the west-facing office. And, when you are ready for a breath of the freshest air imaginable, step directly outside to a grassy plateau where hummingbirds and squirrels are at home on their own turf. Keep one eye open for the bear that meanders by from time to time.

The upper level of Pollak’s split-level living space has a wet bar handy to both of the living levels and the dining room. There is yet another masterpiece from a native loom to admire. Cozy up for a good read, some spirited conversation, or just a quiet moment of communion with the mountains. A Meade digital computer-controlled telescope stands poised atop its tri-pod. You may scour the mountains by day and the heavens by night. It is fair to say that you will never see more stars than you can find in the Colorado sky on a clear night. And, at Pollak’s elevation of nearly 9,000 feet, you are always a little closer to the stars than usual.

You likely stepped out onto the west deck when first you arrived. Here the mountains seem close enough to touch. Dine out here when the mood suits ensconced in front row seats to view parading elk and deer or the majesty of a Rocky Mountain sunset. The kitchen at Pollak enjoys the same majestic view to the west as every other room in the residence. An onlookers’ bar frames the kitchen and sports the same attractive granite as all of the creative surfaces in the kitchen. A glass-top range and every essential utensil and tool are at hand whether you wish to brown a bagel or launch a banquet. Ann and Victor’s collection of fine pottery creates a special aura. Set the dining room table with beautiful Stagebrush stoneware to compliment your heartiest creations.

The master bedroom features a king-sized bed with a million dollar view to mountain peaks tinted pink by the rising sun. A door leads directly to the natural world waiting outside. The ensuite bath offers all of the special Windcliff touches and amenities. The guest bedroom has western views to the summits, private deck access, and a full bath to call its own.

Visitors to Pollak have left heartfelt inscriptions in the residence’s guest book:

• “This is our fourth visit here, and each visit makes us love it more!”

• “So beautiful, so peaceful, so quiet --- PARADISE!”

• “It is nice to know that there is still a place like this in the world.”

• “We thoroughly appreciated the magnificent view of God’s creation and the lovely accommodations done in such good taste.”

• “…..a time of renewal with friends, with the beauty of nature, and with myself.”

• “Oh, my G_d! We are from Holland where we live below sea level. This is surely Heaven!”

• “I was brought to tears by the beauty of your home and its environs.”

• “The Rocky Mountains are breathtaking, and the views from these windows immerse one in their grandeur.”

• “…..the sunsets, the moon over the mountains, the sparkly stars…..Oh, my God!”

• “Nestled in these rocky mounts there lies a heaven by all accounts…….”

Although Estes Park [Rocky Mountain National Park’s gateway community] is only 15 minutes distant by car, you will always feel securely tucked away at “Pollak” --- separated from the “hustle and bustle” of people and their traffic. The Windcliff enclave embracing the “Pollak” residence is a private residential community comprising 260 acres on the sunny western slopes of Ram’s Horn Mountain. It is served by a single entrance to private roads with no through streets or heavy traffic. It is truly a world apart!

We absolutely loved this place. The view was awesome, the community was quiet, the place was well stocked and looked just like the pictures. It is within a short drive to the national park for hiking (which we love) and a short drive to downtown Estes Park, which we absolutely loved going to. We had deer outside our deck that we watched every day. The staff at WIndcliff were also so kind and caring - loved working with them as well. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Our first time to book online and it not be a hotel. We will most certainly do it again.
