About Donald Harrington
We are excited to share our favorite place in the world with others. We seek to provide the very best experience for active outdoor lovers. Our camp is part of the historic Thompson's Point Association and from our first sunset, we have been completely enthralled with the place. The living space is convenient and very comfortable. There is enough room to spread out or enjoy closeness.

Why Donald Harrington chose Charlotte
The Point was found after many, many trips to view camps and opportunities around the state. This camp has everything we sought, feels like being away, but is still close enough to take advantage of everything the Burlington and Middlebury areas have to offer. We are into biking and triathlons, and the area right around the camp offers amazing riding and training opportunities. There are many great local attractions, such as Mt. Philo for hiking and great views. We are both UVM alumni with ties to St. Mikes and Champlain and hope that others with similar ties take advantage of this gorgeous camp. Please contact us for special rates and dates that you may want to explore for campus events.
What makes this Cabin unique
We are experienced property management professionals and bring that expertise to this very personal experience. We work hard and play hard and seek to provide the best possible camp experience for our guests - who likely have similar downtime needs. The porch in the rain and the dock for sunsets are a place for connecting, rest, and relaxation. For those that want community, the clubhouse is just a few feet away. There is tennis and ping pong, plus Friday night socials. The camp is steps from the road, so access into is fine for those that may need less steps. From the porch, a person can enjoy lake vistas and feel a part of the action. We will provide amenities, such as bedding and condiments so that traveling can be less complicated for our guests. Upon arrival guests will find a pristine, readied camp.

A perfect summer camp!
Our family loves this lovely camp on Lake Champlain! The house is comfortable, but the highlights are the screened-in porch overlooking the lake and the ample dock. There are also watercraft available for our use. We spend hours just relaxing on the dock and gazing at the Adirondacks across the lake. It has made for a perfect lakeside vacation for two years now for our family.
Great views and relaxation
Our family of four (including two teen-agers) stayed here for a week in early August, and loved the camp and the setting. We arrived in the middle of a massive rainstorm, but the rest of our week was mostly beautiful, and we spent lots of time on the dock and in the water. Loved having access to the two stand-up paddleboards (a major activity for us back home in CA), and the property offered everything else we needed, including plenty of space, wi-fi, comfortable beds and fantastic views (particularly from the screened-in porch). The outdoor shower also is a great feature. Lots to do and see nearby, including berry-picking and all the sights and activities at Shelburne Farms and the Shelburne Museum. The Old Brick Store (about 10 mins. away) offers sandwiches as well as basic groceries, and you've gotta try the cremees at Vermont Cookie Love in N. Ferrisburgh (also about a 10-min. drive). One small note about the property: While we enjoyed the downhill stroll through the trees to the dock from the house, it might be a bit trickier for very small children or people with limited mobility (although only the final steps to the dock are at all steep). Overall, we really appreciated the homey feel of the place and Dana's friendliness and accessibility -- she made sure to pass along contact numbers in case anything came up, but our stay proved blissful and trouble-free. Highly recommended!
Delightful Camp on Thompson's Point
Four adults shared the fully-equipped, three bedroom camp for five nights. There was plenty of space for everyone. There's one bathroom, but all of us used the outdoor shower. We spent most of our time reading or having meals on the screened-in porch, or sitting on the dock. Watching sunset on the dock expanded to dinner and sunset on the dock, then dinner, sunset, and twilight on the dock. We probably would have slept out there if we'd had air mattresses. We just couldn't get enough of that spectacularly beautiful setting.
It was unseasonably hot for three of our five days, but dips in the clear, crisp water of Lake Chaplain were refreshing, and fans that were in the house made sleeping in the "back" bedrooms perfectly comfortable. Dana and Donald were very prompt and helpful in their responses to our questions, before and during our stay. We would love to vacation at this property again.
