A nice holiday overall
We chose this villa based on the excellent reviews.
The communication between Nanda and ourselves, was good. She is a lovely woman who met us at the door upon arrival and showed us around and even messaged the following day to see if we had everything we needed.
The villa is spacious, the air con works very well and it's a nice place to relax away from the hustle and bustle.
However, there are lots of little things that could be improved to make this a better place to stay.
.The beds are VERY hard, almost like sleeping on the floor. Unfortunately this was probably the worst part of the stay as it gave all us bad back aches!
.There is no oven in the villa but there is a gas hob, a bbq and a microwave (in the living room.)
.There are 2 communal pools, located just over the road from the villa but they don't open until July (I'm not sure when they close), which we didn't realize so that was a little disappointing.
.The internet wifi is very temperamental, but I found if you turned it on and off by the plug every morning, it seemed to be ok for a while.
The area is nice, very quiet, a short walk to lots of restaurants, shops and 2 supermarkets.
We didn't hire a car but this didn't bother us as we only stayed for a week and enjoyed walking each day. The beach is between 45 minutes to an hours walk.
We would come to Sardinia again but stay in a different area next time as I think a week is all you need in Villasimius to see everything.
I'm really sorry that the holiday was not their full satisfaction. Usually we remain available to guests for everything but that week we had a very important commitment in Rome, so I gave the keys of the house to the very kind guests and asked them, to put the keys in the letter box on their departure. The day after their arrival, I sent a message asking if there was need for something but I did not have an answer.
Regarding the beds (of the same type on which we sleep too and our children, the mattresses are kind of mindful) no one had ever complained in front of my questions of approval, so I could not imagine that they were not soft enough. We will also look for a small oven that can be added. Even this was never required because all the previous opsites happily appreciated the big barbecue.
As for the pools, unfortunately the opening periods do not depend on us but it is a reason why the low season prices are much cheaper with regard to the high season when prices are higher but also the swimming pools are open. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.
Villasimius is a holiday destination with many different beaches to visit, so a week in our opinion is not enough but it is certainly advisable to bring a car in orther to visit the many beautiful beaches.
We hope to see again these kind guests, to have the opportunity to show them the many wonderful beaches, which is why vacationers come to Villassimius and to take a ride with our boat with them because we usually offer this to our guests to spend a morning together and have fun.
Thank you for your kind words towards me and best regards.
I had booked this House based on the excellent reviews it had.
On arrival I was not disappointed. The house is in a residential area, within walking distance of two Supermarkets. I walked two minutes every day for fresh bread. We found the local one better than the international one, which had mainly catered for German visitors looking at the brands available.
Nanda and Franco welcomed us to their house and showed us around all the rooms and facilities. There was a wonderful plate of fruit and welcome drinks in the fridge. They invited us to spend some time on their boat but unfortunately my wife does not have sea legs and it was quite windy! The house caters for all your needs, plenty of room for a family of 4 (we were 2) and a squeeze with 6. We had a couple of issues after an hour at the house, but absolutely no problems, Franco and Nanda sorted them immediately, Nanda was very apologetic but she needn't have been, we loved the place.
If I had to nitpick, the only things that could be improved are the Internet, the first two days were great but then the rest of the week it was extremely slow. The other and this is probably more personal, the beds are very firm and my wife and I struggled a bit having soft beds at home.
These two issues would not stop us coming here again though. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet. (September I think)
Both communal pools were closed but you are so close to so many nice beaches, you don't need a pool. Our favourite was Campus.
We tried a few restaurants but found that Sa Tankitta was the best, we ate their 5 times, make sure you book, even in late September it was very busy.
The Town is only 10 minutes walk to the square, we didn't really use our car much.
Thank you Nanda and Franco for the use of your house, see you again soon.
Great place to stay for a family vacation
Our group was two parents, grandma, and a toddler. We had a great vacation staying at this house at the end of August. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The toddler loved being able to run around the backyard versus being inside a small hotel room. The outdoor shower is perfect for when you come back from the beach. The back porch is nice for breakfast in the mornings before it gets too hot.
The hosts, Nanda and Franco, are really kind. They greeted us when we arrived and had some cold fruit and drinks in the fridge for us. They invited us on their boat the day after we arrived. We got to see a number of beaches and learn about which ones are good to visit with small kids. We also made a snorkel stop and then Nanda brought out fruit and drinks.
There are two pools close to the house. One is directly across the street. The opening hours are a bit odd, but I have read reviews for other properties on the island that said the same thing. It seems like a lot of shops and restaurants close during the very hot afternoon hours. Thus, it is nice to have a kitchen so you can easily feed small kids who don't necessarily get hungry during opening hours at Sardinian restaurants.
There are a couple grocery stores and restaurants that are within walking distance. Nanda had some great restaurant recommendations. However, you really need a rental car to get to the beaches. Gorgeous beaches are only 10 minutes away by car. There is parking within the gated yard of the house, so you always have a spot to park.
Overall, it's a great place for families :)
Lovely villa and wonderful service
We stayed in the house at the beginning of October. Beautiful, spotlessly clean house with all facilities and the most friendly and helpful hosts. We travelled with our 21 months old son who loved everything about the holiday. We didn't have to take any beach toys or umbrella as everything was provided. There is a small garden, bbq and driveway with electric gate where we could park safely our car. Just 2 minutes walk from the house there are 2 supermarkets and main street with restaurants, shops etc. Restaurant Sa Tankitta recommended by owners is great. Lovely food, excellent service and reasonable prices (very busy so table booking needed) Just few minutes drive from beautiful beaches, our favourite was Spiaggia di Porto Giunco. We would definitely recommend the villa and can't wait to go back there again. Thank you Nanda and Franco for the most wonderful service and all your help. Dana
Wonderful family and great people.
Thanks again to Homelidays that gives us the opportunity to meet people of such beautiful, lovely and very friendly, two wonderful people with their very cute little son. They had respect for home and have left it tidy and very clean.
We would like to meet again them soon because we would like to go boating with them and have fun together with their small son.
Infinite thanks to Dana and Cliff, we hope to hear soon.

Lovely villa with generous hosts
This is a modern, well equipped and conveniently located villa on the outskirts of Villasimius, with an excellent supermarket nearby, the town centre a short drive away, and easy access to a host of glorious beaches. The villa is well-presented with excellent facilities.
The owners Nanda and Franco are delightful people who made us feel very welcome, gave us plenty of useful information to help us explore the area, and took us out for an unforgettable day on their boat, exploring the beautiful coastline.
There are 2 very nice pools available for the commune, one of which is just 50 metres away, but guests should be aware that the pool opening hours are mostly in the afternoon.
Villasimius is a lively town, with plenty of good and inexpensive restaurants. The surrounding countryside and coast is superb.
We want to say a big 'thank you' to Nanda and Franco for helping us to have such a marvellous holiday in Sardinia, and we can't wait to go back!
Thanks to Duncan, to Judith and Giorgia for the unforgettable moments spent together, and endless thanks for the image that they gave about us.
Many thanks to HomeAway and Homelidays to give us the opportunity to live like a beautiful dream, of meeting as these fantastic and wonderful people.
We hope to meet again soon this beautiful family and still have wonderful moments together.
With warmest wishes
Franco and Nanda
A Paradise in Sardegna
Truly a little paradise. On arrival, the hosts Nanda and Franco, were there to welcome us and they soon showed to be simply the nicest hosts we ever met during many stays in Italy.
The house itself was beautiful and very spacious - well equipped and well disposed, three perfectly situated terraces, a beautiful garden and a patio that was perfect on afternoons and evening. Even a garden shower – perfect after long days at the beautiful surrounding beaches. And in addition three swimming pools nearby – i.e. perfect for families with small children!
We are a family with two teenagers, and so the house - situated near shopping, in walking distance to city and the most beautiful beaches nearby, was perfect for us.
We stayed for a fortnight and over the weekend Nanda and Franco invited us for a boat trip and a fishing trip on their American fishing boat – those were absolutely the two best days of the entire holiday a – for the entire family. Nanda and Franco’s hospitality, their knowledge of the area and all the histories were truly amazing and treasured by our entire family.
Truly a little paradise on earth!
We thanks a lot them for choosing our home to spend their holidays in Sardinia.
We are really happy to have met such a beautiful family, as well as their lovely sympathy, correctness, and respect for the home.
Thanks a lot for their kindness, for the sweet sympathy of the little teenagers,
and for letting us passing of happy moments in their company during the boat trip.
We hope to meet them again.
A greeting and a big hug to all of them.
Follow directions for Villasimius, arrive at the town (cross with a stone in the center), turn left and then right.
Bike rental with hiking, boating, restaurants, night walks in the country, flea market on Saturday morning, small museums, several interesting events (eg. The feast of Our Lady at sea, festivals and tastings)
