Arnold was an excellent host. He was efficient and communications were easy.

The house abounds with character. It is clean and well-equipped with everything you need to be home from home.

Pleasant stay in quaint house

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this house! There were six of us and it was quite comfortable - as other people have reviewed, upstairs was warm but once the kids got the air figured out they were able to cool it down. It's an easy walk to the metro and a nice, quiet neighborhood. The owner was in touch with us beforehand and throughout the week, and was a very accommodating host. So happy we stayed here, if we end up coming back it will be the first place I check for availability.

Quiet neighborhood, perfect location.

Lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in a quiet neighborhood. Pletny of room for our whole family. Everything you could ask for. Metro station within a 10 minute walk. All the D.C. sights within about 20 -30 minutes. Would definitely stay again!

Home-away-from-home

My favorite thing was the chorus of birdsong we woke up to each day. Another plus was having a "home" to come to after an exhausting day of sightseeing. A vacation rental is the epitome of privacy; no hotel cleaning staff intruding on one's space and no need to make small talk at a B&B breakfast. The most senior among us complained of no banister by the front steps, but she loved the downstairs shower (as did I). Perhaps my only complaint would be not getting to meet our host. We were surrounded and intrigued by his books, art, and home decor. He appears to have spent time in Portugal and it would have been fun to talk about fado, azulejos, and vinho verde. Muito obrigado, Mr. Kohen, for our stay at your lovely home.

We had a really lovely stay at this beautiful house

Everything we needed was provided. The house was very clean.

It is a friendly neighborhood and the metro is just a few minutes walk

We liked the paintings and enjoyed the front porch

Arnold always quickly respond to questions and was very friendly.

I would definitely recommend this house. Hope to come back some time.

Thanks again Arnold

Wonderfully charming home, and perfect home base for our DC adventure.

  • 5 of 5

We were so fortunate to book this home when we planned our DC trip. The owner, Arnold, is easy to communicate with, and was very eager to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The home was perfect for our party of 7 (two families - four adults, one teen, and two small children) and close enough to the metro that we were able to skip renting a car and driving in DC traffic. Arnold's impressive library kept us entertained in the evenings - I couldn't believe my 14-year-old son didn't turn on the TV once during our 10-day stay! I loved the art and artifacts that decorated the interior, as well as the fireflies and deer that decorated the exterior. We took the Metro up to Silver Springs to enjoy a movie and dinner one evening, and I would have liked to visit the farmer's market but we didn't have time. Walks to the park and around the gorgeous neighborhood were perfect down-time activities after long days at the museums. I would recommend this rental to anyone, especially because of the attentive and gracious host. Thank you so much, Arnold!
