We had a really lovely stay at this beautiful house
Everything we needed was provided. The house was very clean.
It is a friendly neighborhood and the metro is just a few minutes walk
We liked the paintings and enjoyed the front porch
Arnold always quickly respond to questions and was very friendly.
I would definitely recommend this house. Hope to come back some time.
Thanks again Arnold
We were so fortunate to book this home when we planned our DC trip. The owner, Arnold, is easy to communicate with, and was very eager to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The home was perfect for our party of 7 (two families - four adults, one teen, and two small children) and close enough to the metro that we were able to skip renting a car and driving in DC traffic. Arnold's impressive library kept us entertained in the evenings - I couldn't believe my 14-year-old son didn't turn on the TV once during our 10-day stay! I loved the art and artifacts that decorated the interior, as well as the fireflies and deer that decorated the exterior. We took the Metro up to Silver Springs to enjoy a movie and dinner one evening, and I would have liked to visit the farmer's market but we didn't have time. Walks to the park and around the gorgeous neighborhood were perfect down-time activities after long days at the museums. I would recommend this rental to anyone, especially because of the attentive and gracious host. Thank you so much, Arnold!
We stayed here for 3 days in July. The house was comfy and quirky but very homey. The owner was extremely accommodating and quick to respond to all of my emails. It is in a very nice older neighborhood and the people around were very friendly. The metro was a block away and easy and safe to walk to. The first day we drove but it was so close we didn't after that and you have to pay to park in the metro lot. Metro is easy to use and nice. The upstairs was hot but both bedrooms stayed cool with the air conditioners. The downstairs bedroom was very cool also. Owner may want to consider central air. All of the appliances, dishes etc. were nice and new. Nice having a washer and dryer also. There were ants but ants are very common at this time of the year. We were happy with our stay and I would rent from him again.
My family of 5 stayed in this rental for our vacation to the DC area. With 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and 3 bedrooms, this was a great place for us. There is a pull-out in the living room for use, as well. The location is very close to the metro, which makes it ideal for anyone touring DC. Arnold was very helpful and responded to all questions quickly. The neighborhood is lovely with tree lined streets, flowers, and friendly people. The price and location are what attracted us to this property, and we were not disappointed.
This house is in a great neighborhood close to the metro. Few things, this house is filled with art which greatly disturbed our young daughter to the brink of tears. Too many eyes! The house has an old smell and creaky, uneven floors. Young kids may feel uncomfortable. Other quirks, ants in the bathroom, kitchen. Sofa bed is just covered coils. Shower windows not covered. Owner refused to disclose address until day before we left. Glad it was our first stop of many. We are not tech savy - no fancy phone to look up information about metro stop, restaurants. Got lost first day to metro. No info left for portable air conditioner upstairs so unable to use. Owner seemed nice but seemed not happy with questions to prepare for our visit. Again info held till day before we left. Overall this house would work for most, just be sure kids can handle all of the art and it being an older house.
While I can't tell you about the rental itself since I cancelled my booking for reasons that had nothing to do with the property or the owner, I -can- tell you the owner was very quick to respond to inquiries, and was informative and pleasant. He had changed the price a little and the reservation did not reflect that and so he honored the original quoted price. My cousin thought there should more details about the sleeping arrangements of his property and distance to public transportation than was on the page. The owner was informative about the sleeping arrangements of his property in response to my inquiry.
I would not hesitate to book his property if an accommodating owner is an indication to you as it is to me of the quality of your experience at his property and his confidence that you will find his property to your liking!
