About Cynthia Leigh
When circumstances in Canada changed for this family, they decided to pursue a crazy dream to re-locate to the Puerto Vallarta area. They started searching for a property on or near the ocean - not in the city but not too far away where they could hopefully run a small hotel with 10 rooms or less. They found La Posada Pacifica on-line - a 6 suite inn in Boca de Tomatlan and made the journey to come see it. It took 3 years of research and taking care of details, but now here we are!
Cynthia Leigh purchased this Apartment in 2014
Why Cynthia Leigh chose Boca De Tomatlan
Boca de Tomatlan fit the bill for us. We are boat lovers and loved the idea of living steps away from the ocean. We also love the village atmosphere. Our son now has the opportunity to grow up in this beautiful place where we know he is safe, active and learning so much more about the world than he would have just living in one place. We don't want the hustle of city life, but we did want to be close to the city for all the conveniences there.
What makes this Apartment unique
The Posada is located on the quiet side of the river - away from the sometimes revellers and right on the river less than 100 metres from the ocean. We enjoy accomodations that have an authentic feel of the destination but all the conveniences of home. The kitchen's provide an extra level of convenience, the suites are spacious and perhaps the best part is the large balconies with a great view!

We will do it again and again!
My husband and I were very happy here. Perfect efficiency apartment. Our room had air conditioning but wasn't always necessary. Cynthia and staff were very helpful, and made you feel right at home. It is a great spot to stop if you are traveling south on #200. It will be an overnight mini vacation. We stayed 4 days, went fishing with Beto from Quimixto and enjoyed beach. Then we relaxed with great river view from our balcony. We are both 73. The staff helped with luggage, and it was no problem for us. Rooms are on the second and third floor. Yes, we would do it again.
Perfect stay in this charming fishing village.
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in the PV area, and this was our first stop. Cynthia is wonderful, flexible and helpful, and this little apartment was charming and so comfy--a great and comfortable bed too. Boca de Tomatlan is not the place for those who seek the "all inclusive" Mexico hotel experience ... and that's why we loved staying here. From Hotel Posada, it's a fun hike to Los Colomitos beach and even to the beaches beyond. It's also an easy bus ride to the botanical gardens which were amazing--and huge!
We would ocme back here in a heartbeat. Thank you, Cynthia!
Gateway to the other side of Bahía de Banderas. Yelapa etc.
Had a great stay, Cynthia was fantastic, very helpful and full of local knowledge. The rooms were clean and spacious. The roof top deck was amazing unfortunaly we were to busy to spend much time there. It is somewhat remote and there is no nightlife, which for us was a plus and one of the reasons we chose the location. We would defiantly stay again when in the area.
Great place to get away from PV and experience the real Mexico
The visit at Posada Pacifica was much too short. The location idyllic. Cynthia and Pierre gave us some good advice for dinner at Los Conos on the hike to Las Animas, then let us use the kayaks for the day to explore the coast. We paddled over 4 miles up a ways past Mahajuitas, and found some incredible snorkeling - and encounters with porpoises and some really big fish along the way.
Check out the stars from the roof deck at night.
We will be back!
A week of paradise
Loved our stay at Posada. Beautiful area with great access to travel around Puerta Vallarta South. Cynthia and family were very heloful to make our stay memorable. Unit was very charming and very clean. Great place to stay and get away from it all! We will definitely return!
What a beautiful place to stay. Everything was as advertised and more. The room was clean and in good repair, the bed was comfortable. It was easy to communicate with Cynthia if we needed anything, and she was a great resource for activities in the area. She even found a way to accommodate us when I made a mistake in our booking. The area is just the right combination of quiet and scenic with easy access (by a climb up the hill and bus) to Puerto Vallarta, the Botanical Garden and really anything else, or by water taxi to beaches South.
This location works best if you plan to prepare your own meals after 6pm or bus to town, as all but the taco stands close early.
Boca is situated a beautiful hike or kayak ride to some extraordinary Bays and Beaches. Colomitos Bay is a popular destination for a more secluded beach location, amazing snorkelling and the ever popular Ocean Grill. The beautiful white sand beaches of Las Animas are the next Bay over, followed by many other beach towns, private beaches and wonderful day-trip locations. The fishing is plentiful either from on-shore, off one of the plentiful pangas or deep sea fishing. Dolphin sightings are common as well as Whale sightings in the winter months. Boca is the hub for private boat rentals or water taxi's so you can enjoy your own private excursions at a fraction of the price you would pay to join in a group excursion. We have our own scuba diving company here and guided trips are affordable and easy to come by. If you prefer to keep your exploring on-land, the world famous Botanical Gardens are nearby as well as Vallarta Zoo. The hiking trails in the area are breathtaking. If hanging out and sipping a cool drink on the beach is your game, grab a spot in front of one of 5 tasty beach restaurants or grab a beach towel and chair from us and stock your own cooler. For fine dining, Le Kliff offers a lovely menu and a stunning view of the Bay of Bandaras. Puerto Vallarta is an 8 peso bus-ride away or splurge on a taxi for only 180 pesos.
