The Oaks Restaurant is a couple miles away and is a rural destination for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also offer a tiny produce stand/market and frequent market events. Temecula Creek Inn is a few miles away and offers a beautiful wedding venue as well as a romantic restaurant and full bar with stunning views of their water features and beautifully maintained golf course.
Interaction with Guests:
We travel a lot too, but when we're on the farm, we love to enjoy our guests' company if they're so inclined. Cup of coffee in the morning? Glass of wine in the evening? We'll follow our guests lead and never intrude. Just ask if you have questions about what to see or where to go, there's so much to do in San Diego! We always respect our guests' need for privacy.
Little known, even to San Diegans, Rainbow, California is adjacent to Fallbrook and is right off the I-15 freeway, yet our farm seems like it's miles away from the city. We're one exit south of Temecula's Old Town District and walking distance to the Roadrunner Winery. Only a few minutes off the I-15, we're freeway close. 40 minutes or so to Oceanside's beautiful beaches and Carlsbad's flower fields and Legoland, and an exit south of Temecula's wine country tours, right in between San Diego and Los Angeles renowned attractions. Twenty-five minutes or so from Cal State San Marcos University, thirty-five minutes or so from San Diego Wild Animal Park in Escondido and a little over an hour to Seaworld and world famous Balboa Park. The local farmers' market is on Saturday and is 15 minutes away in Old Town Temecula...a destination in itself. We're one exit south of Temecula. Be sure to check out Temecula Olive Oil Company's tasting bar if you find yourself in Old Town. Temecula has a number of vineyards eager to showcase their wines, and if you book early enough, hot air ballooning is a local wine country favorite.
No public transportation, you need a car for sure! Active Uber and Lyft services.

This is as tough as a job interview. Who am I? I really enjoy meeting different people, and count myself lucky to get to share this little slice of paradise with lots of well traveled guests. A confirmed Foodie, my original interest in growing things was for my own table. So a lot of what we grow here at Morning Song Farm is rare and unusual; dragon fruit, mulberries, macadamias, guavas, loquats, sapote, Carissa plum and kumquats. My shelves are proof of my eclectic tastes, including organic gardening books, mediation, political history, economics.
Aesthetics are important to me, I've worked hard to transform our farm into something it's an ongoing fight against the dark forces of weeds and derelict farm equipment. Friends say staying here is very relaxing, the skies are often filled with stars you can't see in the city, and although city-close, it feels like we're far, far away. I need that solitude, as many of our visitors will attest to, it's restorative.
Donna Buono purchased this farmhouse in 2001
The farm property that I raised my children on, I fell in love with Morning Song Farm the day I viewed it. Rainbow is a growing farming community, with a u-pick strawberry farm just down the street, and Roadrunner Winery in walking distance. We're happily located in the center of Wine Country, with wineries both a few minutes north of us in Temecula, and wineries a few minutes south of us in Fallbrook.

Beautiful farm, fine folks, friendly animals, excellent accommodations! Thank you Donna and Lance, for sharing your l'il slice of heaven!
Nice place. The bed and recliner loveseat were very comfortable. And the hot tub nice and warm.
My partner and I stayed in the Romantic Farmstay at Morning Song Farm and
had such a great time. The hot tub overlooking the farm was really
romantic, and we won’t forget toasting our anniversary under the stars.
It was nice to have the hot tub to ourselves. Since I had to stay in touch
with the office, I was glad to see the wifi was fast. The host, Donna,
was warm and made us feel right at home. The amount of free organic
vegetables was a bit of a surprise, and the vintage stove was to die for.
All in all, a five star stay!
If you are looking to get away from the busy bustle of city life, this is the perfect place. Tucked in the hills of southern California, it is quite and peaceful. Donna had the fridge stocked with fresh eggs and produce from the farm for us upon our arrival. You are only about a fifteen minute drive from Old Town Temecula and about a 25 minute drive to Wine Country. The house is very comfortable and you have everything you need for your stay. I would definitely stay here again!
Enjoyed our weekend very much. Very cute place and loved the extras, food, wine and decorations. Appreciated the restaurant suggestions, enjoyed the authentic Italian restaurant in Temecula on our way home. Thanks!
A good time was had by all! We enjoyed meeting the neighboring winery owners and sampling their estate wines. It's a short drive to either Temecula's wine country or Fallbrook's. The farm is right in the mid point between the two and we eventually went both ways. Donna and Lance were attentive hosts, the home was well stocked; and we particularly enjoyed spending time with Lance and his treasured goats. (Don't ask him if his favorite goat...Boo Boo...is pregnant. "She's big boned," he says. Well...
The views from the front door are calming and just what we hoped for. Couscous, the llama, wandered in and out of our view during our stay. He's gorgeous.
My girlfriend and I had a great time at Morning Song Farm. Their "Romantic Getaway" was just that. I love to cook, so the kitchen was a bonus for us, especially the vintage stove. The place was super clean and nice. I was surprised at the amount of organic produce they included in the price. What really made a huge difference to us was that we got an extensive local's guidebook that the owner created, of things to do sent to me when I placed the reservation and we were able to figure out ahead of time what to do and where to go. We stayed busy and then came home to relax under the stars in the hottub each evening. Even though it's only an hour or so from downtown San Diego, it feels like you're in a different world. We'll be back!
We send a comprehensive Activity Guide to all confirmed reservations. There's so much to do!
