Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible Bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

You will love this recently upgraded one bedroom one bathroom unit located in the popular Summit condominium project. Newly decorated with new carpet, paint and furniture. The kitchen was just redone. Located across from Eagle Lodge (chair 15), you'll be a short 800 ft over to the slopes, and during the summer conveniently located to access all the great outdoor activities in and around Mammoth Lakes.

This property offers many upgraded features including a comfortable sectional couch to enjoy your favorite program, or movie on a 37' flatscreen TV with DVD. Lots of games to play after a long day on the mountain. The master bedroom provides a queen bed with private flatscreen TV with a DVD. The couch folds out to a queen bed. The unit also provides a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare a full sumptuous meal (without the food & your great cooking of course).

When you're finally ready to pull yourself away, Eagle Lodge is across the street from The Summit complex, with Chair 15 ready to take you up to the powder. There is easy access with a shuttle right outside your door. If you want to walk it's about a seven minute walk to the Lodge.

Don't worry about having to dig your car out from the storm you've been praying for, since you parked it in the underground garage where it will be waiting for you when you must finally leave your mountain getaway.

In the summer enjoy one of the best and most private pool and jacuzzi areas in Mammoth right outside your door. There is a great view from the deck. World class Sierra Star Golf Course is just down the street and you can even walk to some of the great concerts on Minaret Rd. The Village and town shops are just a short drive away.

Our unit has an elevator service from the garage/ground level and a cart is provided in the condo for you to use; there is a fitness center in the main building; secured free wireless internet is available; we have an assigned parking space in the garage; 2 Jacuzzis are located outside; washer and dryers are available for a fee and the end of the hallway one the first floor. There are two pools and multiple jacuzzis. Tennis courts are available in the summer; the winter ski shuttle is right out side the door. Please no smoking in the condo.

About Steve

I love Mammoth and am happy to share my condo with you. I am a Firefighter for the City of San Diego and in my off time I love to ski, hike, and bike.

Steve purchased this condo in 2015

Why Steve chose Mammoth Mountain

The Summit is a great complex that is in the Eagle lodge area. The pool and spa area are right outside the door are one of the nicest and most private in the Mammoth. There are plans for the mountain to build a smaller version of the Village right across the street from this complex. In 2010 the Summit had a twelve million dollar renovation to the buildings making it one of the nicest condo complexes in mammoth. The bike/walking paths wind all around this area and by the Sierra Star Golf Course across the street. Close to winter and summer activities.

What makes this condo unique

Beautiful light filled condo with lots of windows overlooking the pool and trees. Short walk or shuttle to Eagle Lodge and chair 15. This condo has everything you need for a wonderful getaway. There is also an elevator and I provide a cart to get your things to the condo with ease. The condo has a wood burning fireplace and is warm and cozy.

Grateful for Covered Parking

  • 3 of 5

We are grateful folks and don't want to bash the owner because we chose to stay there based on the pictures and prior reviews. That said, without characterization, here are a few of the pluses and minuses to our family.

Negatives to us:

1-Dated condition in terms of peeling paint, deteriorated caulk inside the tub/shower, linoleum stained black at the edges in the bathroom, to name a few.

2-Living room sofa and possibly the (seemingly newer) carpet and the building's hallway bore a bit of an odor. We used a whole can of air freshener and had to leave the windows cracked to air it out, daily because candles aren't allowed due to fire concerns.

3-If you are over 6' (or 6'7" like my husband,) the bed is too short and the mattress caved in every night, so we were not well rested.

4-The walls/ceilings are thinly drywalled so you can hear the other guests, when you don't want to hear them, like from 10:30pm to midnight or beyond and starting after about 5:30am. Plus, a dog was staying in the room above, who barked for a half hour one night and then almost 2 hours another night, and who we suspected urinated off the balcony, because we saw yellow snow on our balcony, plus yellow icicles above. We know, it's a pet friendly place. We stayed there to try it out in case we wanted to take our dog on another trip, we just find it inconsiderate and sleep disrupting for owners to allow a dog to bark incessantly during bedtime hours.

5-Also, it seemed as if the bedroom door was not to be shut, because there was a de-facto door stop in front of it and when moved, the hinge seemed to be teetering on the nail. This was a negative because if someone's watching tv in the living room the person in the bedroom can't sleep.

Positives to us:

1-Covered parking-can't be understated how helpful it is to have covered parking during snow times.

2-Dedicated parking space.

3-Just under half-mile walk to one set of lifts.

4-Kitchen was fully-stocked with cooking materials. There were even coffee liners and spices. Made it so easy for us to have breakfast in the room...even though I preferred to sit at the table due to the smelly couch:(

5-Fireplace worked well!

We may be too high maintenance or picky for room 216 and this building overall, agreed, but we are grateful for the positives we encountered.

Well prepared and convenient to slopes...but very noisy neighbors

  • 3 of 5

Townhouse was clean and well prepared for guests. Covered parking was great. Instructions and pre-trip coordination were also well done. Bed was a bit on the small side. Neighbors were extremely loud -- played music literally all night -- which prevented us from sleeping all three nights. We were also disrupted while relaxing by a young weekend traveler who thought we used their parking spot (which we didn't). While these items are mostly beyond the owners control, I'm most likely to try another place for my next stay. I would think townhome owners would be a bit more considerate of their neighbors.

You get what you pay for - sort of

  • 3 of 5

The selling point that this property is practically next to the lifts is not a good enough reason to stay here. It's still a 7 minute walk if you don't take the shuttle (which I strongly recommend). The positive traits about this condo is that it kept really warm without even really using the heaters; it has underground parking; and an elevator to take to bring your things up. The downsides: you can't run the microwave while running ANY wall heater (the circuits will break - it happened at least half a dozen times the first night); the shower control was very fussy; the bed was way too soft for my husband, causing his back to hurt; the knobs for the wall heaters were missing; the cable from the TV to the DVD player was faulty (my husband had to use his own cable); and only 1 out of 5 light bulbs was working in the kitchen (this was resolved the next day after leaving a voice mail with the property manager). Each problem was a small one, but added all together and it became a pretty frustrating experience the first few days. Hopefully the owner will take care of all these small issues so that the next experience will be 4 stars. To get 5 stars, then the paper products like paper towels and toilet paper would have to be name brands (aka Bounty and Charmin).

Clean and comfortable - epic snow!

  • 4 of 5

Our long weekend of unbelievable snow, was made even better by this clean and well-stocked 2nd floor unit. Underground parking was a plus, and very convenient to Eagle Lodge. You cannot go wrong if renting this place.

Very cozy condo, everything as described!

  • 4 of 5

This is the perfect place for our family of four and pooch! We are returning guests as this location is perfect. It is close to town and the lifts and the shuttle is right across the street. We love being able to bring our dog to Mammoth. The neighborhood streets are quiet and perfect for walking.

The condo is clean and the couch is super comfortable! Steve is very responsive and was always quick to answer any of my questions.

I'm only giving it 4 stars as it would be great if the condo had some games and newer non-stick pans. We will definitely be back!
