Serenity on the Lake
This is exactly what I was looking for! The cabin is super clean and cozy. It has such a homey, family feel that I love. It is right on the lake with amazing sunsets. There is a rowboat and two kayaks that we used daily. We caught many small fish right from the dock. The cabin is stocked with everything you might need. The lake room is great for rainy days. It is mostly windows and is facing the lake. We enjoyed having camp fires at night while watching the sunset over the lake. Amazing! Check in and check out were very easy. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Although I never met Joel and Annette, I imagine they are wonderful people because their cabin is amazing and they definitely thought of everything to make it relaxing and feel like home away from home!
A Gem of a historical cabin. Rich with history of the family and Clam Lake.
A flawlessly restored cabin. A REAL log cabin from 1932. Well thought out and restored with care. Clean and tidy. Incredible sunset views from the deck and dock. A Island complete with a Eagle and nest. Loons calling in the eves
and early morns. Spotted deer on the shoreline while kayaking. The Lake Porch is wonderful with a wood stove for the rainy day. If you are a lake person
this is the place for you. Fishing was fun as well, small perch from the dock
and a Bass from the Kayak which was VERY exciting. Went home with the FISH STORY! Lovely walks on quiet dead end road. Cabin is quiet and private. Really enjoy the bright kitchen with Hummingbirds feeding outside
the window. A campfire with a full moon in the yard with no bugs whatsoever.
Nice beach for swimming and of course launching our kayaks. Slide right into
the lake. Took a night time ride in the row boat fishing. Public TV and Public
Radio from Park Falls is all you need. Bed is very comfortable and of course
the lovely log walls. The family history made me miss our cottage days with the family in the past. Good memories! This cabin is made for family. Grill the
brats and burgers on the deck. I can't think of a single thing the owners
haven't thought of already. The location is so easy to drive to and the store
is a mile away. We will be back, sooner then you might expect! Thanks much Hovestols! I think it's the best cabin rental we have done to date. And we have
done quite a few each year.

Wonderful Rustic Cabin
It was a wonderful, quaint, rustic cabin to stay in. Reading about its history in the family was fascinating. We enjoyed relaxing along -- and kayaking in -- Clam Lake. We also took time to enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the area -- the national forest, the waterfalls, the shores of Lake Superior, the wildlife, the neat shops in nearby Hayward. Thanks to the Hovestols for their hospitality in allowing our family to stay in their cabin! We appreciate them sharing their favorite vacation spot with us and giving us an opportunity to experience it for a week.
Peaceful, Beautiful, Adorable Cottage
My boyfriend and I wanted some place on the lake to just relax and be near water. We saw the pictures on the website , but they did not do the place justice. The cottage is adorable and we fell in love and are looking forward to staying again!!!!
Love this place!
This is our second year staying here. We absolutely enjoy this cabin... spacious shady yard, good swimming, great fishing, yard games, peace & quiet. Joel & Annette are awesome & made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the trip. Hayward is only 30 mins away and we were able to spend a day over there go-karting, zoo, Tremblay's and check out the musky festival. We love this place and we will be back next year!
My parents had a great time there!
