About Lenorr Snyder
My husband works in the area and I am a stay at home mom raising our five children. I enjoy spending time in Custer State Park hiking with my family, riding bike on the Mickelson Trail, and the quiet peacefulness the area has to offer. There is so much to do and see regardless of your interests.
Lenorr Snyder purchased this House in 2014
Why Lenorr Snyder chose Custer
We purchased the property to have a home away from home for our five children. We currently live in the Custer area and wanted a home in town to accommodate school activities. The property has the appeal of being in a country setting but only a few blocks from downtown Custer.
What makes this House unique
The cabin like appeal. The knotty pine and hard wood floors throughout the house made us feel right at home. The yard is also fairly private with a lot of mature trees offering shade. Deer frequent the yard quite often.

Great place and close to everything
This house was excellent for our group's needs. Plenty of space-- more than we expected, actually. The main floor is really quite large! Having two bathrooms was nice, as well. The bedrooms were large with large windows. The shared bathroom upstairs wasn't huge, but adequate. The shower head was a little low for taller people. Might be an issue for someone else, but we are all around 5 foot 7, so no problems. The stairs and floors creak a bit in the house, but wasn't objectionable to us. The only issue was the staircase is very steep. We had to accompany our two- and three-year-olds up and down the stairs for safety. Otherwise, everything was clean and spacious and quiet and excellent.
Fantastically clean, centrally located, charming family space, in a quiet space.
Our family of four enjoyed the little red house as our home base for a week. It turned out to be a rainy week, so we spent more time indoors than intended when planning. There was plenty of entertainment with board games, a TV/DVD, and an air hockey table. The house was very clean, with everything having a place, and it was obvious the owners have made improvements for their guests, which make it a little more comfortable to stay in the house. Amenities like fluffy towels, a grill, and a kitchen with all the important pans (muffin tins, pasta pot, and skillet!) , tongs, spatulas, and a can opener made cooking easy. We've stayed places and had to purchase some of those things. The kids loved watching the neighborhood deer from the window seat, and the parents loved the private and quiet location. When it did get sunny, we utilized the local city pool. It was so close, and a great way to relax after hiking in the nearby Custer state park. The location was close to everything, but tucked away from the busy downtown. We would definitely recommend it as a family friendly, budget friendly rental!
Thank you so much for the awesome and detailed review. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your trip and your stay at our home.
Close to everything in a homey setting
My mom and my two kids loved the whole experience. Walking distance to town and very comfy. The daily visit by the deer kept my kids occupied.
Thank you for staying with us and for your review! We are lucky that the deer seem to like the yard.
Perfect Family House for a Black Hills Vacation!
We are so glad we found this house! It was perfect for our family of four (kids: 10 & 8). The location was centrally located for everything we wanted to do. The property is super cute, clean, and well organized. It had everything we could need and want. The games in the garage kept the kids busy during down times and we all enjoyed watching the family of deer right out the back! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for the great review!
Great property. Well kept. Very clean. Close to downtown Custer. Highly recommended.
Four guys spent four nights and loved this place. The garage was especially appreciated for bike parking.
Thank you for your kinds words, I am glad you enjoyed your stay!
Great place to stay
We loved our stay - the owner thought of everything we would need for our 5 day stay. The house had a BBQ pit and she even placed a gas igniter in the drawer - there were games to play and a table in the garage to enjoy the evening weather and eat outdoors - its also in a perfect location for sightseeing. We would definitely rent again
I am glad you enjoyed your stay and truly appreciate your great review!
