L'Agriturismo Montegonfoli est situé sur la crête d'une des collines de San Gimignano qui domine la majeure partie de la région environnante, nous offrant une vue imprenable à 360 degrés. L'ancienne ferme, construite entre 600 et 700, a été rénovée avec passion et dévouement et est divisée en 6 appartements confortables, probablement le plus grand de la région, mesurant entre 60 et 95 mètres carrés.
La propriété comprend une série de hameaux formant un petit village et une parcelle de terrain de 23 hectares divisée en vignes produisant des raisins prestigieux tels que Vernaccia di San Gimignano et Chianti Classico, des oliveraies (environ 900 oliviers), des champs des terres arables (Grano, Girasoli, Colza, etc.) et une forêt fantastique dans laquelle coule un ruisseau, un lieu où adultes et enfants aiment faire de courts voyages. Notre établissement est situé très près du centre de San Gimignano, à quelques kilomètres à vol d'oiseau, à 3-4 km par la route, et bénéficie donc des avantages de la campagne et de la proximité de la ville. Nos voisins gèrent un centre équestre avec de nombreux chevaux et organisent des excursions toutes les heures dans nos campagnes et nos bois. À 50 mètres de nous, les voisins tiennent un restaurant spécial, extrêmement "SOCIAL", célèbre pour sa bonne cuisine et ses tables pour permettre à tous les convives de se lier d'amitié.

Stunning setting for a Tuscan holiday

Gorgeous setting close to San Gimignano, Florence and Siena. Property is very nicely managed by Paulo and Bruno, who made our stay very comfortable. Apartments are quiet, comfortable and can be combined to accommodate almost any number of people in your party. Great for families and groups of friends. An incredible value and a great getaway from city noise.

It was a perfect experience - amazing views, great service and comfortable rooms. The location is perfect for exploring Tuscany. Gut, aber doch sehr abgelegen

Wir waren mit unserem Urlaub zufrieden. Allerdings waren so zwei, drei Sachen die man besser machen könnte. Die "Mikrowelle" ist ein Ofen der nicht geht. Es gibt keinen Backofen. Mein Fön hat nicht in die Steckdose gepasst, da empfiehlt sich ein Adapter mitzubringen.Eisfach war für richtiges Eis leider auch unbrauchbar. Und der Pool ist abends bis 19.30 Uhr geöffnet, kein Springen, kein Spielzeug erlaubt. Und es ist wirklich sehr, sehr weit ab vom Schuss. Sollte man vorher beachten. Bruno war nett, da gibt es nicht gegen zu sagen.

Great holiday on a great property

We were from 11.8.-23.08.2019 on this wonderful estate. Bruno, who looked after the property with great care, welcomed us warmly and showed us our apartment. The apartment was comfortably furnished. If we wanted or had questions, we could always contact Bruno. The pool was cleaned every day and the beach chairs around the pool prepared for the guests. We really enjoyed our holiday. We will definitely come back.

Great location, nice place but not again

Great location , but not again Maybe we caught them on a bad week ?It felt very owner dominated? The manager was nice , but at times felt like acting on owners pedantic and overburdening rulesArrival was easy and welcoming... a bottle of wine was given ... a nice touch.It feels very much like a place that wants to make money from tourists but does not want them there?I am all for rules.... it’s my job but they need to be enforced in a reasonable and balanced way !The first was a passive/aggressive approach to diving ... I get it ... no diving sensible. But the 4 children are all competent swimmers ... and because occasionally just dive in ... it was always deep end (approx 2 metres) ...,They were chastised over this ... maybe would have been best to monitor this instead of clamping down immediately! Next one ... my eldest stepson has ADHD and autism ... so we are fully aware of monitoring his behaviour ... Day 1 we gently told the kids to keep a check on their noise ... although they were not noisier than any other 4 children. Day 2 the owner was in the block near the pool in reception... after about 30 minutes the owner came out gesticulating in Italian ... the pool is for everyone ... stop the noise ... the noise level was 4 kids in a pool ... yes noise but not excessive!On Day 1 the eldest son had difficulty getting WiFi in apartment so took a dining chair onto step ..... he was told off for this ... even though the chair was probably £40 max .... The pool also had rules .... opening 9:00. - 130 —- 3-7:30 ... just weird and very inconvenient. What do you actually do with 4 wet children for 90 minutes???It became apparent that the owners wanted this protected time for them ... I get it but don’t run a tourist business ..To add annoyance the female owner came into pool during tourist time ... no issue but rules should be consistent!I also observed a tiny German boy being told off for spinning a shade on the sunbed ... really no issue ! I am not sure if the rules were consistently enforced ... one time a German father and son were throwing an inflatable ball to each counting ... quite loudly ... ein ... zwei ... drei.. . Maybe they were told in a passive:aggressive way stop counting loudly ? Oh and inflatables are banned ... I am guessing they were as as they spent little time around the pool ... like us . We had three unexpected trips to Florence , Siena & San Gimignano... all wonderful but cost an extra to £500 to budget . Nice .. but not kids

Tolle Woche mit Familie!

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche in der Toskana. Die Lage des Weingutes war ideal mit einem tollen Blick auf San Giminiano. Um Besichtigungen zu machen eigentlich zu heiß (um 40 °C) jedoch der Pool war fantastisch. Sowohl das Apartment als auch der Pool waren sehr sauber. Der liebevoll umgebaute Bauernhof war sehr gepflegt. Bruno, der Verwalter, war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Lage in der Toskana ist ideal, da man von dort aus schnell in Florenz, Siena, Volterra, Pisa und natürlich San Giminiano ist. Einzig die Ausstattung der Küche war etwas Spartanisch.

We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed staying here. The property and place was very clean . It’s an older place and and a little remote. Our host was nice and booked a wine tour for us. Host checked on us as well. It was quiet. Hair blow dryer available on request . No air conditioner (not needed). Heater is extra charge (not needed). I would recommend staying here if you are ok with driving to see anything. It was a restful 5 days ! Thanks !

Exceptional Service and Location

Stunning views! Bruno was so very helpful -- arranged dinner reservations and horseback riding for us. The only thing that was not perfect was the weather -- and if he could, Bruno would have changed that for us! Accommodations worked great for our family of 4 and the location is excellent. Close enough for convenience and far enough away to avoid the tour buses and large crowds! Our sons hiked to San Gimignano and said it was a great hike. Excellent grocery in Poggibonsi.

Beautiful views of the country side and San Gimignano. We stayed 14 days to visit the surroundings, so every day a different old town. Place very convenient since it is so close , 10 min from San Gimignano, Florence 45 min, Siena 30 to 45 min. Pisa less than 2 hours; and we usually took the Ecological alternative in the GPS to get to our destinations. From the big gibing our contact Paolo was very kind and informative. We were very well received by Bruno upon arrival who continued to be very helpful during our stay. Very clean and comfortable apartment!

The property was apsoulutly perfect. The views of San Gimignano and the vineyards all around were so pretty. The pool looked tempting although the weather was not warm enough to jump in. Bruno the caretaker was so kind and helped us with transportation into San Gimignano and offered to take us to the train station. He typically is so busy on site but while our stay it was slow. We really appreciated all he did from driving to making us cappuccino in the morning with a chocolate crusiant. We hope to come back again but stay longer than a weekend. If your looking for quiet and tranquility this is the place!!!

The perfect Tuscan experience

We absolutely loved our stay at Montegonfoli, although next time we will make sure we stay longer. The accomodation was perfect for 5 of us and perfectly positioned close to San Gimignano but away from the crowds, overlooking glorious hills and vineyards. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Paolo was really easy to communicate with before we arrived and so helpful in giving us lots of great information about the area once we were there. Our children went horse riding nearby through the vineyards and loved it ! The caretaker Bruno and his wife were a delightful couple who were really helpful and also cooked us an amazing meal on our last night. It felt like a home away from home. We will definitely be back but next time for longer. We just loved it !

Great time at Montegonfoli

It was fabulous! Very comfortable, very clean, very convenient. Close to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano. Only one regret- we booked it for 2 nights only. I would like to come back and spend at least a week there! Thanks a lot Paolo and Bruno!
