We appreciate all guest feedback, even when it reflects a challenging experience. However, we feel it's important to clarify the context for future guests and hosts. This reservation was made for 15 guests, but only a few days before check-in, we were informed that the group would in fact be 22 people — nearly a 50% increase. Despite this short notice, we did our best to accommodate the change by organizing additional cleaning support and applying only a modest extra guest fee, well below our usual rates. The guest was very reluctant to pay this reasonable supplement, insisting that the cost should be the same regardless of the number of people. While we could have cancelled the reservation due to the clear breach of agreement, we chose instead to handle the matter diplomatically in hopes of a positive outcome. However, communication remained difficult throughout the process — often last-minute, unclear, and dismissive of house rules. We strive to maintain a respectful and transparent relationship with all our guests, and this situation did not reflect that spirit. The house was left in an unusually poor condition, requiring extra time and care to restore. We advise fellow hosts to be very cautious with this guest, as the booking details may not fully reflect the reality of their stay.
