Boathouse ~ On River, Deck, Steps to Beach, Family Dog Friendly!

Boathouse is a classic 3 bedroom, 2 bath, riverfront home featuring a two level deck with river views. It is conveniently located next to a large sandy neighborhood beach. Boathouse is a one level home (all rooms situated on the upper level) with wood floors, a living room with a fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a downstairs basement with a pool table and ping pong table.

Enjoy river views as you dine al fresco on the large back deck or relax on the upper sitting deck. Boathouse offers a yard area with river views and a brand new floating dock(photos of dock coming soon)! Additionally, it is just a short walk to a sandy, dog-friendly neighborhood beach. The home includes a double and a single kayak (available mid-June through mid-September).

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Boathouse is 7 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: There is parking in the driveway for 2-3 cars. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: First bedroom: King bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed; Third bedroom: 1 Queen, 1 Twin bed

Heat Sources: Central heat, wood burning fireplace (no firewood or kindling provided).

Rec/Game Room: The game room is an unheated, uninsulated space. Temperature varies throughout the year.

A/C: The house does not have air conditioning. Being near the coast, the night time temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house.

Docks and beaches are seasonal only and available from mid-June to mid-September providing the summer dams are in. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats that are provided in some of our homes are also available from mid-June to mid-September. The river is usually too swift for boating in the winter and many docks and beaches are under water until late spring.

Clean and comfortable with river access

We had a lovely weekend here with our pup, who of course loved the river. Quiet neighborhood, lots of water toys if you have kids.

Hidden gem

This is a really great spot, right on the river. Comfy beds and an overall comfy atmosphere. Oh, and a 10/10 VHS tape collection for movie nights. Can highly recommend.

Christmas Gathering

We had a wonderful Christmas week here. Very convenient location Comfortable for 6 adults. Cooked most of our meals here and had plenty of supplies. It rained while we were here so we did not get to enjoy the decks and outdoor area but it would be so fun when the weather cooperated. Redwoods are amazing!

A wonderful retreat

Beautiful getaway right on the river. Kayaks and an expansive game room with ping pong and pool made for excellent entertainment throughout the stay. About a 20 min walk from town, we made the trek daily for coffee, a great way to wake up.

Great home in a great location

This home is perfect for a group of folks looking to enjoy the Russian River!!! The dog friendly property has the perfect attention to detail like locks to keep furry friends on the deck and outdoor shower to rinse sandy toes. We look forward to returning back!

Comfy river-front property

Booked this place as well as another place down the street for my bday weekend. While i did not sleep at this house (6 close friends did) they said it was super comfortable. I briefly toured the house and would have to agree--and the back yard providing direct access to the Russian River is so peaceful and beautiful.

We had a wonderful time staying at this home. The location is just a few minutes walk to the edge of the river and the river area is so beautiful. The beds are comfortable and the house was clean. Tons of games and puzzles and movies to watch.There were a few things could have been better, however. The property has a beautiful apple tree and we did enjoy cooking a few of the apples while we were there, but when we arrived, there were over 100 apples on the ground in the driveway in various stages of decay and we had to clean up the driveway ourselves into the yard waste container to avoid stepping on them or driving over them. While we were there only about five or six fell so it makes me think they had been sitting there a long time. The downstairs recreational room is interesting. There is a lot of stuff to do down there, but I couldn’t find the light and the room is unfinished. It just wasn’t comfortable being down there. The pictures make it look like the living room area is bigger than it is. Considering we were all there to do craft projects for the weekend, there wasn’t a lot of common space to spread out.

Great location on the Russian River

We loved our stay and hope to return. This house has great water access from a private dock and a large deck. We really appreciated having access to 3 kayaks for our use. We brought many bikes with us and it was great to be able to secure them in the garage (the property manager originally told us that guests didn't have access to the garage, but fortunately that wasn't true. One upgrade suggestion would be to add code key remote so the garage can be opened from outside, rather than only through the Recreation Room).

Perfect Summer Getaway

Hands down one of our favorite family summer vacations. The cottage itself was stocked well and provided a comfortable spot for cooking, sleeping, and out of the sun activities (board games, cards, puzzles, pool, and ping pong). The real treasure of this property is the direct access to the river including your own little floating dock. We spent hours multiple times a day on the water. The hosts provide a variety of floating toys in addition to a couple of river kayaks. I really can't speak highly enough of our experience staying at the Boathouse. It was R&R at its best. Thank you!!

Peaceful setting

Beautiful location on the Russian river. Quiet and peaceful surrounded by trees. Large fenced yard with two decks overlooking the river. Access to the river was down a set of stairs and a short steep bank or walk past the empty lot next door and down a path to a neighborhood beach. Some road noise across the river, but not enough to bother us. The house was large and comfortable and very clean when we arrived. The bathrooms are newly remodeled and the shower was great. Beds were super comfy. The kitchen was small but well stocked. A bit of a challenge for cooking with a tight layout and an oven that didn't work well, but that was a good excuse not to spend time cooking when we could be outdoors enjoying the river. Its only a short drive into Guerneville for groceries and take out, but we barely left the house as we had everything we needed right there.

On the river

Kitchen really in need of a couple of new frying pans. Handle on one ready to fall off. Lamp by front door needs a bulb. We all enjoyed hula hoops, ping pong and pool table.

Nice location and clean Place

Well organized, good directions to unit. Easy way to get access in. Most had some amenities like shampoo and coffee. Not issue, just speaks well for those who provide.

Great get away

The Boat House is a great get away house. The location is great - quick walk to the beach, river view, and an easy stroll into town for coffee and the morning newspaper. The house itself is well-stocked, often unusual to find in a rental home. Having the kayaks, canoe, and rec room available really make this an enjoyable spot to spend a few days.

Great getaway

Clean and Bigger than it appears

We had a great time at the Boat House. We were a little worried the cabins interior was on the small side from the photos, one of our friends is 6'7", and other than the showers the cabin was perfect. The game room downstairs is also in better shape than the impression the photos give off. This cabin is great. The view and amount of space on the decks is spectacular, it felt like another living room looking straight at the river. River access is easy, entrance is just next to the house, and a short walk down. It only took us 15min to walk home from downtown. Really a spectacular cabin.

Nice house

We enjoyed our stay at the Boat House. It is nice and big. My daughter just loved the Master Bed. The beach is really close by. The kitchen is a bit small. Only one cook at a time, but well stocked.

Recommended

Stayed 3 nights. Very comfortable and well equipped. Beach was very near - 'as if' on the property itself. It was pretty easy to drag the 2 kayaks to the water, but we passed on trying to lug the much heavier canoe. Traffic noise from the other side of the river was quite audible when outside in the back. The part of the river where the house is, is very calm. Kayaking is best in the morning before the afternoon wind comes through. The spacing for the deck railing posts was very wide on the lower deck - easy for even a large dog or child to go through. I have a large dog (German Shepard) so won't go back to the Boat House, but otherwise would highly recommend the house. On the positive side, the beach was usually deserted, so my dog was able to romp freely. As did I.

Boat House Christmas

We spent the week of Christmas with our son, daughter-in-law, and their two dogs at the Boat House. The floor plan is perfect for two couples, with room enough for a third. The fenced deck accessible from the back door allowed us to leave the dogs outside at times, and the big yard and nearby streets made our walks easy and fun. We found all the necessary utensils and dishes in the well equipped kitchen. A great view of the river, nearby access to it, and the setting in a redwood forest add up to a perfect location. Thank you to the owners and to Russian River Vacation Homes for a great stay!

In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.
