About Brian Randall

Hi There, I am looking forward to having you stay! I not only own the building the unit is located but I live there as well so I have 'Pride of Ownership.' I have been running vacation rentals for 20 years between Lake Havasu AZ and Dana Point and San Clemente. If there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable just let me know. My goal is to have you return for years to come!! The summer season is going to be right around the corner, however there is plenty to do in the winter in South Orange county! Units in the neighborhood have been booking quickly. This unit will fill fast for the season. Call me for more info! I can do short one month rentals as well for summer and winter visitors. Please inquire about San Clemente properties and studios as well.

Why Brian Randall chose Orange County

This has been a great year for the Amber Lantern Vacation Unit. We are already taking reservations for the 2016 year. I encourage you to book early. This property has just been gone through with new renovations! New granite counter tops, New tile floors throughout the unit and a brand new bathroom give you a clean modern feeling while staying. The unit has a great deck off the back with a BBQ and furniture that allows for relaxation after a busy day of enjoying the beach or local attractions. It is located in an outstanding area of Dana Point. You can walk to restaurants, bars, shops, and the harbor. It is only 3 blocks from the harbor and the ferry to Catalina.

What makes this apartment unique

Great surfing, fishing, boating golfing destination. Doheny beach is within walking distance of the unit. The harbor has a great beach as well and is also within walking distance. Salt Creek beach along Ritz Carlton Drive is only a 3 minute drive from the unit. Fully outfitted with all the components of home all you need is your clothes. A fully equipped kitchen is ready to go to allow for home meals to keep costs down! If you are looking for a base camp the unit is only 45 minutes from Disneyland, and close to nearby golf courses.

Great place in a heart of Dana Point

  • 5 of 5

Great small 1 bedroom condo in heart of Dana Point. Extremely close to everything, well kept and clean. Small patio deck in back for outdoor relaxation. Perfect for couple to stay in and blend in with locals. Fairly priced . Stayed here for one weekend and absolutely loved it . Owner Brian lives downstairs and he was very helpful and accommodating. Area is very quiet with minimal traffic noise.

Would definitely return .

Comfy and best location for beach!

  • 5 of 5

Well equipped and accommodating for hopping on the nicest SoCal beaches. Best location to be close to favorite hang outs: walk to Doheny beach, Strands, Marina for kayaking/SUP; drive quickly to Salt Creek, Aliso Creek beaches and Treasure Island and Laguna's Heisler Park. Great foods nearby: Sonny's pizza, Las Brisas, Wahoo's fish tacos, Ruby's Diner and Harpoon Henry's in the harbour. Easy drive to San Diego. Brian was available to discuss, give ideas and ensure all is well. Thanks for a great 2 week OC beach stay!

Dana Point Location Special

  • 4 of 5

This cute little apartment was a perfect size for my husband and I to have a great 5 days away from the heat in Utah. The furnishings were up to date and very "beachy". The location was perfect. We could walk or ride our bikes to Salt Creek Beach, Dana Point Harbor, restaurants. Kitchen, not that we used it much was much better than most as far as pots and pans and dishes. Cute patio out the back to enjoy a meal and a nice front courtyard to sit and read. Brian was very helpful and available if needed. He let us store our bikes in his side yard. Only issue was neighborhood was a bit noisy at night but the beach and the weather Mir than make up for that.

Anniversary Trip - DP/Catalina/Laguna

  • 4 of 5

We're a Seattle couple who visited the Dana Point/Catalina/Laguna area for several days to celebrate our Anniversary. We found this place to be the perfect "base" and priced right. Everything was as described, clean and well appointed. After a day long trip from Seattle the water bottles left in the fridge were a great welcome. Reading previous visitors logs in the book on the kitchen table melted away the trip woes.

Brian was a super host, very prompt in replies pre-arrival, he even checked on us a couple times during our stay to ensure our comfort. We compared notes w/him re: local activities, restaurants, and the Laguna Pageant of the Masters show.

We had a rental car however this place is within walking distance to everything - loved JC Beans AM coffee; a bit farther to reach Rite Aid (Rx) & Ralph's (Grocery); we even walked to Cannon's to celebrate our Anniversary with a sunset dinner overlooking Dana Point Harbor.

The next day we walked (1+ mile downhill) to the harbor and took the Catalina Ferry and spent 1 night on the island, while leaving our baggage back at “base”. Returning to DP after sunset (9pm) the walk (1+ mile uphill) was not fun for us. We considered Uber, however we decided to work off the 1.5 hour boat butt. Once we made it up to PCH, we came upon Gen Kai Sushi. OMG this is a MUST VISIT restaurant if you are into Grade A sushi/fish - just read Yelp then go there! After sustenance, it was only a short 2 block walk back to reach "base" where we enjoyed the LCD TV.

No A/C was a concern but the fans and light breeze worked out ok - keep the windows cracked during the day otherwise it gets a bit hot inside. No worries tho, as there's a fun bistro table on the front porch to hang out & sip beverages, while the place cools down.

Next day an easy 30 min drive up PCH to reach Laguna Beach. Plenty of parking ($15 all day at Lumberyard Plaza) lots of small shops, a packed beach - good for people watching, it was a short 20 min easy walk up to the Festival of the Arts. Easy night traffic back to DP to our "base."

Last day we drove to Mission San Juan Capistrano (15+ min drive) We'd recommend the audio tour. Plan for 2 hours - cuz once you start, you'll be so immersed that you'll feel what it was like to have lived there 200 years ago!

Brian's place is a great "base" for sightseers, adventurous couples, or small families alike. Convenient to so much. Thanks Brian!
