About the property

This Bokeelia home is a fully restored 1925 sugar cane plantation farm house. This historic two bedroom, two bath home is located on a quiet street within walking distance to marinas, restaurants, and fishing piers at the northern end of Pine Island. Some of Florida's best boating and fishing is minutes away with three boat launch and rental facilities with water taxi to the barrier islands of Sanibel, Captiva, Boca Grande and Cayo Costa state park. Four of the best restaurants on Pine Island are located in Bokeelia.

After a 4 year restoration, guided by the Lee County Historical Society, we are ready to offer this beautiful home for vacation rental. This is a quiet, tranquil location with upscale furnishings, and amenities. The plantation is gone, but this 3,200 square foot home is all new from top to bottom - Custom bamboo kitchen cabinets, stainless appliances, original 1925 heart pine floors, fully tiled bathrooms, upper sun deck and lower barbeque deck. We also include a fully furnished office with desks, printers , monitors, and Wi-Fi. Flat screen TV's included in the family room and both master bedrooms. Plenty of parking space for boat or RV. We enjoyed our stay of two weeks at this charming home. It was close to many of the things we wanted to do but secluded at the same time. I would recommend this place to every one.

This was our 2nd stay at this property. It is a perfect spot to relax and unwind. It is so quiet and away from the crowds. The owners really pay attention to details. My wife was amazed at the amount and quality of all the kitchen ware. We grilled outside 5 of the nights, (so nice when the grill at home is under a foot of snow.) It was another perfect week. The home is so attractive, the colors so relaxing we always come away refreshed. We did have a small flock of Ibis birds and an osprey visit every morning. The owners recommended a local fishing guide named Erik with Native Attitude fishing charters. He was also outstanding! My wife does not fish, Erik had her fishing within 15 minutes. Enough fish for a couple of dinners.

The home is very clean and organized, the flowers and palms on the property were beautiful!

We will be back!

Thank you again for a great stay!

Absolutely Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had never heard of Bokeelia Florida. We chose our vacation location based on the photos of this home. We were not disappointed. The home was stunning. it was in a very quiet and relaxing location. It had everything we needed to make this one fabulous week! The owners were extremely friendly and really showed a great deal of pride in this home. Rightfully so, the home was beautiful. The community was quaint and quiet and far away from the typical spring break crowds you can see down there this time of the year. Yet is was full of activities that kept us busy all week, kayak rentals, bike rentals, art & gift shops and of course fishing were all within a short distance. We really enjoyed the day trip to Coya Costa. I fished daily at the Bokellia Pier with some success.

The home was large and open, the colors warm and inviting, the yard was beautiful with many different types of birds coming to visit every morning. At night, the neighborhood was extremely quiet and relaxing. Our stay there was just what was needed to rejuvenate us.

Thank you for a wonderful week!

This house will make you feel like royalty

  • 5 of 5

This house is almost too good to be true. The immense coconut palmtrees along the driveway welcome you to a gorgeous renovated plantation house. It's location on Pine Island is perfect if you are looking for a quiet environment, yet not too far away from a restaurant/bar or marina.

The 4-year renovation of this old plantation house has certainly paid off. It is very spacious, has all the luxuries you could ever need, even an office!

We would like to compliment the owner on the incredible tasteful 'all-in-country-style' decorations all over the house.

And one could only dream of having a walk-in closet or walk-in shower like the ones in this house.

Since it was only the two of us, we did not use every room. But how wonderful it would be if we could once stay here with friends! One bedroom and bathroom downstairs and one bedroom and bathroom upstairs gives all the privacy you could want and still be in one house.

There are so many chairs/benches/sofa's in and around the house (front-, back and upstairs porch) that it was impossible to sit on all of them. One could literally sit anywhere! And in style too.

We sincerely thank the owners for putting up a christmas tree for the holidays. We felt so welcome after a long journey!

There's a marina, with bar/restaurant within walking distance (5 min) and one a little further away (20 min walk). And Matlacha, with all the shops, restaurants and boat tours is just a short drive (15 min) away. It's a 40 min drive to Fort Myers and 75 min to Naples. So plenty to do. We recommend the Botanic Gardens in Naples and the Flea Market in Ft Myers. And if you're in for some nature: head to the Corkscrew Sanctuary and watch the wildlife and oldest cypresses in Florida.

There is absolutely nothing that this house doesn't have. If you are looking for a spacious place to stay with good friends or maybe celebrate your honeymoon here, you have come to the right place. This place will make you feel like royalty.

Plantation house a "diamond in the rough"

  • 4 of 5

Pine Island has no doubt been untouched by fast food outlets and strip malls and the Plantation House is a total statement of times past. As you drive up the driveway you can see this grand house has been restored to it's original glory days. Once entering the house you are taken back by it's beauty and the quality of the restoration a mix of the old with all the modern conveniences we've come accustomed to. However if you enjoy the ocean beach walks and water fun this is not the place for you "no" beaches or pool. For $37.00 per person you can take local ferry to a State Park for the beach. Watch out for the ''NO- SEEUMS" the local's refer to you as new blood. These little biters can cause a lot of discomfort so ladies pack your Avon ''skin so soft" it does help. A pay fishing pier is 3 minute drive away and the local golf is not bad. For a quiet and secluded time the Plantation House is a great choice. I would end by saying a pool would bump this to a 9 out of 10.
