We were in Boston for 3 nights checking out colleges and this apartment was the perfect location: 100 feet from transit, amenities close by, super-clean, and a parking space to boot!
PROS:
- two green train lines within 3 blocks (one actually stopping on the street in front of the building!). You can get anywhere in town from here.
- walking distance to Starbucks or 7-11; you can get train tickets at the latter.
- lovely large modern kitchen; we chose to eat out, but the frig and microwave got some use! Furnished with everything you need should you choose to cook.
- sofa was really comfortable.
- Bedroom was large and light - very calm and nicely furnished.
- Bath was modern and very clean.
- Designated parking space across the street was the real bonus - parking in city is at such a premium that it was an incredible relief to know we had a spot for our use only.
- super close to Boston College if you want to check it out, and train in front of the apartment stops at Boston University on the way into the city center.
CONS:
- no laundry in the building at the time we were staying (you had access in the building next door according to a sign in the lobby).
- Apartment is on the top floor of the building with no elevator, so if you can’t do several flights of stairs, it might not be a great fit.
Overall, it was a terrific stay and the owner, Greg, was amazingly quick and responsive with questions. He also had our security deposit refunded within 2 days of our stay - much quicker that many VRBOs we’ve stayed in. This will be our go-to place should one of our daughters pick a Boston school.
