Well equipped three bed villa in Secret Valley
Having selected Villa Barnsley for our late break the whole booking process was handled very efficiently and confirmed within a matter of days. The directions and access details arrived well before our departure from the UK allowing us to slip easily into the holiday mood.
The Villa is only twenty minutes from Phafos Airport but a hire car is essential as Secret Valley is in a residential area and although shops and restaurants are many and varied in the locality transport is required. On arrival at the Villa it was just as described clean fully equipped and the gardens and pool were well maintained. The welcome pack had all the essentials that meant shopping could wait until we had fully settled in. If your looking for a relaxing holiday lounging by the pool or a base from which to explore the island the Villa will meet your needs.
Villa Barnsley is close to the Secret Valley Golf Resort, although you don't need to be a golfer to enjoy the area and facilities. You can visit the Club House for breakfast, lunch, coffee or just a glass of wine, or just enjoy the picturesque landscape, rolling hills, lush gardens and tropical plants.
The closest markets/shops for groceries are a small supermarket located in Kouklia Village and a convenience store in Aphrodite Hills resort (which is more expensive but may be open later). For more serious shopping you will need to go to Paphos where there are several larger supermarkets including Debenhams and Sklavenitis, or in Pissouri there is Papantoniou Supermarket (open from 7.30 to 20.00 or 21.00). This supermarket is very reasonably priced and you will find all necessary groceries including fish, meat and bakery there is also a homeware department upstairs.
Pissouri is a vibrant, old hilltop village that is set conveniently close to the main motorway connecting Paphos and Limassol and can take you, in a short time, to any place on the island. Why not visit the traditional centre of the village, which is full of charm and has a traditional feel, and while away the hours with a coffee soaking up the atmosphere. Pissouri has several tavernas, little kiosks and historic buildings, as well as offering all the amenities of modern life such as banks, shops, petrol station, internet café and a supermarket.
Pissouri Bay is about 20 minutes drive away, where the beach offers water sports and there are further restaurants, some of which are set right on the beach, and shops and kiosks. The Bay offers everything possible for the water sports lover but also has lot of little hideaway spots for those who prefer a quiet and unspoiled beach.
Aphrodite Hills Resort is 5 minutes drive away, with its famous spa, upmarket restaurants, tennis courts, and grocery shop. There is also a great playground here for the kids and everyone is welcome to have a walk around the large grounds and soak up the scenic views. The spectacular Columbia Beach Hotel, located on Pissouri beach, is a fantastic place to visit for a meal or a drink. There are many great and interesting things to see in Cyprus and we encourage you to explore the Island.
