Built in 1900, this charming house was renovated in 2008 and combines turn-of-the-century charm with all the modern conveniences you would hope for in a vacation home. The house has two bedrooms and one large bathroom and comfortably sleeps up to six with the pull-out coach in the living room. All of the décor and furniture were new in 2015 as we purchased the home in January 2015 and immediately decorated with all new furnishings, linens, television, beds, mattresses, etc. If you’re looking for a wonderful blend of charm and convenience, we’d welcome you to stay at our Chipeta home. The great location is a short walk (5-6 blocks) to historic downtown Main Street in Grand Junction where you will find dozens of great restaurants and shops.
The Chipeta house is located within two miles of Colorado Mesa University and is only about 6 miles to the entrance of the beautiful Colorado National Monument. The amazing red rock formations are not to be missed! You can hike the trails and travel the road across the National Monument from Grand Junction to Fruita via bike or car and see scenery that by itself makes the trip to Grand Junction well worthwhile.
Our kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, utensils, and all you need if you are inspired to cook...including a gas grill.

We are Thom and Shari, we have lived in Grand Junction for about 20 years. We have raised our four children here in the Grand Valley. We have enjoyed living in Colorado where we have hiked, skied and built our lives. We love to travel and hope we have instilled in our children the possibilities that travel can offer. We are the founders of Children With Hope, a non-profit organization that has established a Children's Home in Eldoret Kenya. We welcome you to Grand Junction and hope we can be of help to make your stay enjoyable.

Location, location, location! Within 5 or 6 blocks of Main Street Grand Junction, you can walk or ride one of the cruiser bikes we have for your use at the house. Downtown Grand Junction is a great place to shop, relax, and enjoy one of dozens of restaurants all within walking distance from the Chipeta house.
When we saw this beautifully renovated house built in 1900 we knew it was a special home. The unique turn-of-the century features remain untouched, but the modern conveniences that you'd hope for are present as well. From cable TV, to wireless Internet, the Chipeta House is a wonderful blend of a cottage 'get-away' and a great location in downtown Grand Junction where there are so many options.
My daughter stayed here while working as a traveling nurse in Grand Junction it was the perfect home away from home. The cottage has everything you need and perfectly maintained. It is in a great location close to anything you would want to do in the area. Shari the owner is the best very easy to work with and will do everything to make sure your stay here is perfect.
Our stay at Chipeta Place was perfect for a Grand Junction family gathering. It was clean and warm and accessible to all we were doing. The one thing I would say to improve the place would be to update the pull out couch which was not comfortable at all for sleeping and also keep good mattresses on the beds.
The booking was so easy and the owners were so helpful from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family. We will use it again.
Great central location!
The owners are kind and easy to work with. The home is adorable, comfortable and very easy to fall in love with. We had guests coming and going all day and they enjoyed marshmallows over the pit, the warmth of the fire and above all the laughter that filled the rooms. Can't wait to come stay again!!!!!!!
House was comfortable with everything one needs. Sheri was helpful and responsive to our questions.
Considering everything we were pleased and content with our stay and would definitely book with Sheri again.
