RIO VISTA ON THE GUADALUPE - a SkyRun Texas Property
Hill Country. River. Cabin.
If your idea of a Hill Country escape evokes images of a clear river, cold beverages, supper on the grill, relaxation with a view, shaded deck and yard spaces, a comfortable riverfront cabin with modern amenities, and easy access to local outdoor activities, concerts, theme parks, and dining...
... then Rio Vista on the Guadalupe just might be the perfect spot for your next getaway to the Hill Country. At Rio Vista on the Guadalupe you'll have 200 feet of pristine, shaded Guadalupe Riverfront all to yourself! Whether your river diversions lean toward swimming, fishing, kayaking, tubing, or watching the clear water roll by against the backdrop of sheer cliff, Rio Vista has it all to offer right outside the cabin door. Bring your suit, poles, kayak, and tube for a relaxing escape on the river. Don't have a kayak or tube? Pop down the road to the local river outfitters who'll get you on the Guad in style. Prefer a guided fishing experience? The best fishing guides in the Guadalupe River- Canyon Lake area are available within a short car ride. Need a little bit of civilization to keep the natives from becoming too restless? The iconic Gruene Historic District, legendary Schlitterbahn, unique shops of New Braunfels, and outdoor concert venues like Whitewater Amphitheatre are within minutes of Rio Vista.
At the cabin you'll find expansive deck spaces that span the distance from the back door right down to the water's edge. The numerous cypress and pecan trees that fill the backyard offer plentiful shade on those toasty Hill Country afternoons. There's also plenty of outdoor seating, a grill for cooking up delectable treats after a day on the river, and plenty of space for whatever size cooler you bring!
Inside you'll find an open living/dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a spot or two for a game of cards or dominoes, and an HDTV with cable and DVD player. Each bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, closet, and cable TV. The living area also hosts a futon if a little extra room is needed for friends, family, or kids (yes- they are a special category of family).

Awesome cabin. Very well taken care of and all the up jeep was perfect. It was nice having extra tubes handy. Thank you for letting us visit, and we will be back
The atmosphere was awesome......great place to relax and enjoy time with my family. However, the management company is somewhat lacking. There were holes in some of the blankets for the bed. I had gotten movies and supplies so that we could all enjoy a movie night and the DVD player would not work right.....when someone finally came out to look at it they could not fix it either......then no one even called to say sorry or apologize for the inconvenience. One of the kitchen cabinets had a piece of plexiglass in it and when my Aunt open the cabinet it fell on her head. When I notified the management company ....they wanted to know "what did you do?". The mini blinds were horribly dirty. I am sure we will go to the area again and stay but don't think we will stay at this particular house again.
We’re glad you enjoyed your vacation time with your family. The house does have an amazing atmosphere. It’s unfortunate when a guest checks into a home a few hours prior to the communicated check in time, and during the cleaning process. We had a startled cleaner that was unable to finish the cleaning process. She didn't have time to clean the blinds. We're sorry about the blanket. It was left behind by a prior guest and was being stored temporarily in the owners closet. We’ve since donated it (since the prior guest didn't want it shipped to them). When we were informed of the cabinet and DVD issue we sent a staff member out that was able to easily fix the cabinet and attempted to fix the DVD player. The guest told us the DVD player was no big deal. We gladly would have run out to buy a new one. The DVD player is now working properly. We always appreciate guests who provide feedback during their stay, so that we can be responsive to their needs.
My family had a wonderful and relaxing time at the cabin. We will stay here again!
My party loved Rio Vista. The location was great -- we were glad we were out of town because we all wanted a nice, quiet weekend, plus we had a great view of the Guadalupe. However, it was easy to get to where we wanted to go (Gruene one evening, Natural Bridge Caverns one day, and Wurstfest on Saturday).
The house was clean and ready when we arrived, and it's casual, comfortable, and well-equipped. There were some small things: we had a minor issue with wi-fi (but were able to resolve it), a fire pit would have been nice, the stove seemed to take a while to warm up prior to cooking, and the kitchen could have used more kitchen towels, hot pads, and pot holders. However, everything else in the kitchen is great, there's plenty of storage in the bedrooms, the stackable washer/dryer is new, and the deck is amazing. The property is a perfect size for 4 adults (I think it's a bit too cozy for 5 or 6 unless your party has 1 or 2 kids). The staff was really responsive and helpful as well with getting us in ahead of check-in time and helping us resolve the wi-fi issue. We highly recommend it!
It was nice
The house was nice and clean and looked like the photos. The beds were comfortable and the view of River Rd was great. The photos show a kayak or a canoe on the property to use but there were none on site and that was disappointing since the river wasn't flowing enough to float, the only high area was right behind the house. So our trip was uneventful but we were able to sit on the patio which was fine. The neighbors were nice too.
We’re very glad you enjoyed the home. Rio Vista is always clean, comfortable, and has great views like you mentioned. We’re sorry that you were expecting use of a kayak, and hope that didn’t put too much of a damper on your vacation. Please note there are several river outfitters in the immediate area. Come back soon!
Great location on the river for tubing & Schiletterbahn
House was beauriful / great deck area for grilling and relaxing. Kitchen and house well stocked for having what you need. I will be going back anytime I am staying at New Braunfels.
