Ideal property for our week long stay on Arran. Impossible to fault. Would definitely like to stay here again when I return to Arran. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.
Beautiful and comfortable property. There was everything you could possibly want. Spotlessly clean. Location was perfect. Great views.Denise promptly responded to any queries we had.The only negative was the over bearing number of laminated signs on the walls in every room. Please rethink this and put them into a folder.
Beautiful house right by the sea front in Whiting Bay. Close to local shops, a pub, a Thai restaurant. Right by the bus stops but is also drivable to Brodick where there is a Co-op and ferry port. Large spacious bedrooms with clean crisp linen, good sized cosy sitting room with log burner and a supply of board games. Huge well equipped and well designed kitchen diner overlooking the burn outside. Every room faces the sea front so you can see the stunning sunrise from anywhere in the house. Avoca provides everything you need for a wonderful home from home stay, you really couldn’t wish for anything more. Denise is a lovely host who has clearly put a lot of thought, care and love into this gorgeous little house and it was a please to book through her. Honestly, this house is perfect. So sad to leave but we will definitely be back
Der Gastgeber hat immer schnell geantwortet und geholfen. Der Blick auf die Bay ( aus allen Fenstern) war wunderschön!

Sandra was a great at communicating and asking information about her stay, where to go and what to do. Hopefully all the information was a help.

I loved this house, a lot of thought and effort has gone into making this a special place to stay. We cooked a lot due to COVID restrictions and it was actually a pleasure as the kitchen was so nice and had everything you could possibly need. Great laundry facilities too and even a pulley which was brilliant! (I seriously need to get one). We had a few days of heavy rain but we didn’t mind being indoors as we enjoyed being in the house. We were lucky enough to see a red squirrel in the garden a few times. The garden is fully enclosed so it was great for our dog. The house was clean, comfortable and warm. It made our holiday really relaxing and enjoyable.

Beautiful house with everything you could need provided. The location was wonderful with the shore just over the road and shops and cafes close by as well as beautiful walks. The house is warm and cosy and the bed was so comfortable! The views of the bay from the house are lovely and we were lucky enough to watch dolphins from our bed on one morning! A fantastic stay and we can't wait to return.
Klare Empfehlung :-)
Relaxing holiday on Arran in beautiful house in a great location
We really enjoyed our holiday in this lovely house. Our first time on the Island of Arran and we had a fabulous time. House is in a lovely location, beach just opposite the house - perfect for early morning dog walks. Lots of great walking, some direct from the door. Weather also very kind to us. Seeing the Otters in the sea from the house, seal spotting at Bennan Head and climbing Goat Fell some of our highlights. House very clean, stylish and well equipped made for a very relaxing weeks holiday.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location!
We had a lovely week’s stay at Avoca with our two young children, 3 and 7 years. The cottage is located in the beautiful quiet village of Whiting Bay and a brilliant place to explore the near by beaches and forest walks. A very well equipped house, spacious and comfortable with lovely views and a great wood burner to relax in front of at night! Would highly recommend. A fantastic cottage in a beautiful location!

Excellent holiday home in good location
We stayed for a week during the Easter break, we were 2 adults and 2 children. The house was very comfortable, and had everything we needed, including Wi-Fi, much to kid's relieve. The kitchen was really well equipped, and we loved sitting at the picture window, looking over to Holy Island. The garden is beside a burn, and has a lovely tree swing. The location is within walking distance of a couple of decent restaurants, and some small shops.

A fabulous find
The description of the cottage, the views and the local amenities were spot on. Denise the owner, was extremely helpful and answered all queries quickly. The cottage was absolutely ideal for myself, my husband, 10 and 13 year old daughters and the wee Westie. Spacious, cosy, well equipped and beautifully decorated. Whiting Bay is a super location with just enough local amenities providing goods and services to a standard that meant there was little need to travel far. I would recommend this cottage without hesitation and look forward to returning ourselves.

Stylish & comfortable holiday home
Second visit as enjoyable as the first. Weather even better. Still plenty to enjoy from a great base. Good local facilities . Property stylish and in immaculate order and with pleasant enclosed garden (tho could use a bigger shade canopy as the rear patio is a sun trap!) Definitely recommended.

Cosy home from home on the beautiful Isle of Arran
We stayed in January in this lovely warm cosy cottage which is well equipped and with a fantastic kitchen and lovely picture window looking out to Holy Island. You really don't need nor want to leave the cottage as it has a lovely cosy feel and with the log burner, it's perfect. Comfy beds and all the mod cons provided. When venturing out, we were very lucky with the weather and had the most spectacular climb in the ice and snow to the top of Goatfell, as well as other lovely walks in various parts of the island. Highly recommended, thank you.

As pretty as a picture!
As well as a gorgeous location, Avoca Cottage was the perfect place to stay during our week long trip to Arran. Easily found from the ferry, from the moment we stepped through the door we felt like we were at home. The cottage is immaculate and beautifully decorated with the odd seaside accent. We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace and splendidly appointment kitchen. The walk to the waterfalls nearby was unexpectedly breathtaking, not a hard walk but a wonderful payoff once you reach the observatory deck.
I thoroughly recommended Avoca to anyone considering visiting the area. We found it totally perfect and happened to have the best nights sleep there.

About the host
Hosted by Denise Sinclair
I grew up in Irvine and holidayed on arran all my life. I enjoy walking, sailing, swimming anywhere, my family and dogs.
Why they chose this property
Avoca has a slightly elevated position from the road which give you a stunning view of the Bay, Holy Isle and the Clyde and has amazing sunrises over the mainland and the Heads of Ayr. There is a small burn which runs along the garden which has a wonderful soporific sound.
What makes this property unique
Romantic, cosy, beach house. A stones throw from the beach with amazing views and close to all amenities the village of Whiting Bay has to offer but in a peaceful location.
