A good representation of local Porto (Vila Nova de Gaia)

The Yellow House was clean and comfortable. Paulo’s mother was lovely, greeting us and pouring us port to celebrate our arrival. She kindly showed us the basics of our place, and even walked us down the street to show us where to go and eat. Fado Portuguese was so close, great food, wine and live Fado. Be healthy and reasonably active…lots of hills to climb here, but so much to see.

Inadmissible de metre en location un local en pareil état délabré. Pour le prix d'un 5* . Très très déçu de mon séjour, j'ai payé pour deux chambres deux lits et en fin de compte mon lit était dans le couloir juste étaler par terre a l'entrée. A fuir cette location

Nous ne parlons pas français, mais nous utilisons le traducteur. Vous avez certainement mal valorisé la propriété. Premièrement, nous ne louons pas de chambres, nous louons la maison. Nos lits se trouvent alors à l'intérieur des chambres et non dans le couloir d'entrée. Puis il vient de louer une maison avec une chambre et un canapé-lit dans le salon. Ce commentaire n'a aucun sens.

Merci pour votre commentaire. La climatisation fonctionne parfaitement, si vous aviez des problèmes, vous auriez dû nous le signaler. Le stationnement est public et gratuit à proximité immédiate de la maison, s'il n'est parfois pas possible de se garer devant la maison, à environ 150 mètres, il y a de nombreuses places de stationnement. Empfehlenswert

Nach guter Kommunikation empfing Paolo uns sehr freundlich mit einer kleinen Geste des Hauses und gab uns gute Tips für die Stadt. Die Wohnung war sauber und gut eingerichtet. In die Stadt sind wir ca. 20-25 Minuten gelaufen. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr guten Aufenthalt.

Idéalement placé !

Logement très propre, bien équipé (sauf machine à laver), la cafetière est livrée avec une boite de capsules d'avance. Seul bémol, un voisin qui apprécie particulièrement la musique folklorique dès 9h00 du matin mais en fermant la fenêtre de la cuisine hop plus rien. N'ayez pas peur du gros toutou du voisin il est juste impressionnant. Un très bon séjour !

Bon séjour!

Accueil agréable avec un Porto, appartement spacieux, bien équipé, terrasse très agréable et calme. Les seules difficultés que nous avons rencontré sont les rues étroites autour du logement, le manque de parking et le matelas d'époque qui serait à changer. Très bien situé, dans l'ensemble nous avons passé un très bon séjour!😁 Merci à Paulo et sa famille.

Wir haben uns in dem yellow house sehr wohl gefühlt. Paulo hat uns nachts vom Flughafen abgeholt, seine Frau Teresa hat uns sehr nett empfangen. Alles war sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Eine schöne Terrasse, ein kleines Appartement, aber bei dem schönen Wetter völlig ausreichend. Sehr ruhig gelegen und ungefähr 20 Minuten zu Fuß in das Center von Porto. Es fährt aber auch zentral ein Bus nach Porto. Wir konnten Teresa und Paulo immer alles fragen, seine Mutter war auch entzückend, leider konnten wir uns nicht mit ihr verständigen. Wunderbar!

Quite comfortable, though a bit out of the way

There's much to like about The Yellow House, with one major exception. The bed is quite comfortable, and while smallish, the quarters are comfortable as well. Wifi worked very well, and the patio is a huge plus, for relaxing in the sun (I smoke the occasional cigar, so it was very welcome. It's also very quiet except for the occasional- as in not very often- barking of the two dogs next door. They're pretty cool pooches, so it was not a problem. The site is two blocks from the Cockburn Port Cellars, which I toured, and there is a really great little restaurant with a wonderful view of Porto across the river in the distance. Luis is a genuine chef and the traditional Portuguese fare he offers is outstanding. Great congee, too. Just be aware that The Yellow House is just a bit isolated, and from the river front a steep walk of a little over half a mile. So take a taxi if you have a lot of luggage.

Einfache Unterkunft, aber alles da für einen Kurzaufenthalt. Nette Terrasse. Gute Lage direkt an den Kellern und auch nicht weit in die Stadt. Regionale Einkaufs Möglichkeit und ein sehr gutes Restaurant zu Fuss in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Jederzeit weiter zu empfehlen.

An enjoyable stay in the heart of historic Gaia

The little house was as advertised and well equipped. Bed comfortable, TV and WiFi worked fine and shower had lots of hot water. Only thing missing from kitchen was a sieve or colander. Our host's mother was most hospitable. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the patio because of windy rainy weather which hampered our activities in Porto. The stay in historic Gaia was interesting and we really enjoyed shopping at the tiny supermercado around the corner. It was like going back in time! The people are most gracious and obliging. We had difficulty finding the house as the GPS could not recognize the address or even the main street name. We had to hire a taxi to lead us to the street and be forewarned, the streets are extremely narrow and one way. Despite that, we were able to find parking one street over and there were two restaurants within walking distance. Bus stop to centro, about 4 blocks walk. The house is in historic Gaia on the other side of the river from Porto and you must cross the bridge to get to Porto. Our Tom Tom GPS did not work well in either Porto or Gaia.

netter kleiner ferienbungalow in landestypischer umgebung

wir wohnten eine woche in dem ferienbungalow von teresa und paulo. die vermieter waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit und hatten uns auch zur feier des heiligen johannes eingeladen. das häuschen hat zwar keine klimaanlage, ließ sich aber sehr gut lüften. man hat gutes wlan, aber keine deutschen tv-programme. parken kann man in der nächsten strasse, in der aber immer platz war. man wohnt im altstadtbereich neben den portweinkellereien ruhig.
