Traumhaft schön gelegen mit großem Park und an Orangenbäumen! Der Park ist verwildert, das Schloss hat morbiden Charme. Sehr ruhig und doch alles gut zu Fuß erreichbar (Restaurants, Einkauf, Bäcker). Es ist nur ein Zimmer, aber dafür eine große Terrasse! Tolle Begleitung vor Ort mit vielen Tipps - DANKE!

Lovely cottage in Villa Trabia

Wonderful central location inside historic villa, walking distance from cafes, restaurants, groceries, shops and historic sites! Cottage had all amenities and was quite comfortable. Orange & lemon groves all around were beautiful but plentiful and ferocious mosquitoes made opening windows in the cottage or sitting outside on the terrace impossible. Recommend adding screens to the windows to take advantage of the cool evening air and not have to use the A/C.

Beautiful place, charming hosts !

Amazing place surrounded by a beautiful garden full of orange and lime trees. Very close to the center of Baghria, to shops and restaurants. A place to visit !

Perfectly okay

We drove to Bagheria from Catania, Angela met us at the villa when we arrived. The Villa itself is amazing (from the outside, we did not get to see inside) the accommodation is a series of converted (I'm guessing) servants quarters, each with it's own terrace. Ours was clean and fairly well equipped, could have done with more crockery. The kitchen, more of a kitchenette, was very clean and easy to keep clean. The bathroom and shower were good and the washing machine worked well. The beds had white linen, always always good. Could have done with more coat hangers but then I like to hang everything up. Angela was a font of local information. Her English is very good. Her knowledge of the local shops and restaurants, bars and sights was spot on, her recommendations were also spot on. She organised a boat trip for us which was great. The swimming pool is lovely, there are time restrictions, I'm guessing the Villa owners (one family I think) like to use it in the evenings. That was a bit of a shame as we were out during most of the days and would have welcomed the chance of swim at the end of the day. That said, we met the owner, she was lovely, interested and interesting. The Villa itself is in the town very close to the centre so able to walk everywhere (except the big supermarket) Bagheria is a nice enough town with some fantastic restaurants but the best thing about it is it's proximity to surrounding areas well served by the train station which is a five to ten minute drive from the villa and free parking too! We visited Palermo, Cefalu, Cacamo, Monreale to name just a few places. So, if you decide to go, you will not be disappointed, Angela will steer you towards the best restaurants and you will sleep well in comfortable, clean beds.

Amazing Place

The most amazing place to stay - the Villa evolves out of a manically busy street but once behind the walls is an oasis. Unfortunately not as warm as we would have liked - there is probably a reason why the aristocracy chose to live in Bagheria away from the heat of Palermo!! The gite was delightful, although the kitchen area was rather difficult to use (I'm only 5ft and couldn't reach the shelves - or the tap!!) Unfortunately we are old-fashioned, and found the lack of information and especially a map very limiting - it was very easy to get lost and we never managed to find the beaches we were promised did exist! Driving in Sicily was an experience (and one I'm not keen to repeat), and thank goodness we checked on google street before travelling or we would never have found it. The management/courier woman was very helpful. But don't even think of going there without a smart phone!! You even need to phone to be let into the gates when you arrive!!!

Perfect holidays at a perfect place

The place is just great. The villa, the pool and all the rest look exactly the way as shown on the photos. Everything is clean and in a very good condition. You can find many restaurants and bars close to the villa. A supermarket and stalls, where you can buy fresh fruits and everything you need, can also be reached by foot. Giacomo and Angela are perfect hosts. They really care about their guests and offer help, whenever it is needed. They also gave us very good tips about restaurants, beaches and more. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Thank you very much! Best wishes, Laura and Alex.

Heaven

This place is a great deal for someone who enjoys beautiful nature, privacy, old castles and villas and everything that goes with the stories. The pool is an absolute great point. The room is large, clean and filed with nice vintage furniture pieces. Everything is decorated with lots of style and class. We enjoyed the garden a lot, loved to spend evenings and afternoons on our large patio...and everything is just few steps from the main street in Bagheria in the center of the town. You can go on train and visit a whole Sicilly or just get to the closest beach (3km from the villa ) Amazing, amazing summer!!

Haven in town

It was Lemon Cottage, a quite characterful little cottage, one of 3 in a row, and it was a very enjoyable stay with all the conveniences of town and yet the semblance of being in the countryside as it is located in the villa grounds behind walls and gates in the midst of greenery. The pool is a short stroll away at the side of the villa and available until 6.30 and is surrounded by plants and flowers which makes it very attractive. The bedlinen and towels were of good quality which was appreciated in the heat, not to mention the effective air conditioning, a good shower too. The kitchen is small and access to the sink is a bit awkward but overall it was very good. One small suggestion is that the sunscreen of bamboo over the terrace was insufficient for the July sun (is south facing) and a solid blind would have been great. Similarly the privacy screening of light bamboo fencing could be improved between the cottages by some more plants. All in all a great rental.

A great stay

Fantastic experience at the Villa, lovely pool and area, facilities that were perfect for a week's holiday for two. Angela was very helpful and provided excellent suggestions for where to go and what to do in Sicily. There are also one or two great restaurants nearby. One point however is that the location is not accurately listed on HomeAway and sent us to the wrong place! Still, once we were there we had a great time. Thanks! Will

A most wonderful holiday

My boyfriend and I stayed for one week at Lemon cottage and it was most wonderful than we anticipated. Aloisa was a wonderful host and give us lots of ideas of places to visit. Most days were spent lazing around the pool in amongst the most beautiful garden! Our little cottage was beautiful decorated, and comfy and cosy. Some evenings we would spend out on the little terrace drinking wine and eating food we have cooked ourselves with lovely local, fresh produce. nt! We will be back again - this place is a real gem, I couldn't praise it more. Thank you!

Charme e confort in una dimora storica

Abbiamo appena terminato la nostra permanenza in questa splendida residenza storica di Bagheria. Già dalle foto ci eravamo resi conto che si trattava di una location particolare ma non avremmo mai immaginato di fare un tuffo nello splendore e nei fasti della Palermo dei primi del '700. Il cottage fa parte delle dipendenze di Villa Trabia che è certamente uno degli edifici locali più interessanti e di pregio da un punto di vista architettonico e storico culturale. L'appartamento è immerso in un agrumeto che a sua volta è inserito in un rigoglioso giardino mediterraneo tenuto splendidamente. A disposizione degli ospiti c'è una meravigliosa piscina dove "relax" è davvero l'unica parola d'ordine. Le strutture sono pulite e complete di ogni confort. La cucina è fruibile e la proprietà fa in modo che all'arrivo non manchi nulla. Lo spazio esterno privato completo di doccia , divani , tavolo e sedie completano l'apprezzabile cornice. Non è possibile non fare riferimento alle proprietarie di casa , che con la loro eleganza e con grande garbo , sono sempre presenti senza mai essere mai invadenti. Perdersi nei loro racconti e nella storia della loro famiglia è un modo piacevole per passare delle ore a bordo piscina. È un luogo che sicuramente consiglierei vivamente a chi vuole visitare quest'area della Sicilia risiedendo in una struttura dove l'attenzione all'accoglienza è al primo posto e dove lo charme ed il gusto del bello imperano sovrani.

Fabulous stay in beautiful gardens.

My boyfriend and I spent a week in Lemon Cottage. The owner Aloisa was very very welcoming and accommodating to all our needs (bringing us freshly picked figs and recommending restaurants and beaches). The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and what makes the property so outstanding is the gardens that surround it. There are tonnes of flowers, lemon groves and a wonderful quiet pool which is great to relax by. I would definitely recommend for a quiet and peaceful break.

Peaceful Holiday

Lemon Cottage was all the owners said it would be. It is set in beautiful gardens which provide tranquil surroundings although situated very close to the main shopping centre. From initial enquiry through to last day of holiday the owners made themselves available by email and text for any queries about the cottage and Sicily in general. The cottage was as described,was very clean and well equipped.Although our holiday was in October it was warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the lovely scenery. We visited Cefalau with its lovely beach and quaint shops and spent some time driving through the countryside to visit Mt Etna( driving on the country roads was a very enlightening experience and would recommend using motorway if not confident or in a hurry to reach destination). Mosquito repellent should be an essential due to the closeness of the Orange and Lemon trees. The people of Bagheria were very friendly and helpful although an English/Italian phrase book would be useful. If we were going back to Sicily then we would definitely consider using Lemon Cottage again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to family or friends. Owen and Annemarie

Lovely stay

We had a great time staying at the Lemon Cottage in the grounds of one of Bagheria's elegant villas. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and generous and gave us lots of great advice. One of the restaurants that they recommended served the best Vongole I have tasted in my life. The cottage was well equipped with a large, comfortable bed. The air conditioning and wifi both worked really well. The pool - and its surroundings - were fantastic. The cottage sits just below an orange grove and there is a fig tree nearby. Inside was everything we needed - coffee making facilities, a stove, a washing machine, a well-equipped bathroom. Lots of interesting pictures on the wall. All in all it was a lovely stay. Bagheria is close enough to lots of interesting places - and it felt like a taste of the real Sicily. The director of Cinema Paradiso comes from Bagheria and parts of the movie were filmed there. We took a few day trips by car and train, including a couple to Cefalu, from where you can get a boat to the volcanic islands (which we did one day). Highly recommended!
