Privacy out every window in this 3 bed, 2 bath tri-level home that backs to the National Forest in quietest part of Wrightwood. Relax out back on the over-sized back deck, while you BBQ using the propane grill, and watch the kids snow play & sled down the hill. Or sit and enjoy nature from up high on the massive front deck. Inside a warm, honey wood, open beam ceiling over the great room (Kit/dining/LR) invites you to light the gas or wood burning fireplace, or flick on the satellite TV. Very homey and comfortable, the u-shaped seating area is perfect for family game night, and hides a double sofa bed to complement the three over-sized bedrooms. Upstairs the kids room has it’s own collection of toys, games and videos w/TV. Adjacent is the full bath and 2nd bedroom, which opens onto the private front deck. Downstairs, a large master retreat w/ bath, invites you to slip away for some private time, apart from the group. If you have a larger party, consider also renting the All Pine Inn and/or Snow Bungalow. Permit#154-CA20110030-SUP-R

Why Barbara & Raoul Piette chose Wrightwood
Taking the road-less-traveled (while returning from a high desert business meeting) meant encountering a sign stating that Wrightwood was seven miles – that-away. Childhood memories made turning my back on civilization a no-brainer. One slowly rising bend led to another, as desert chaparral became turned to scrub oaks, before giving way to age old towering pines and majestic oaks. The small town charm of kids walking to school along streets with no lights was irresistible. Nestled amongst the surrounding National Forest, yet minutes to the ski resort, were homes of various distinctive character, built over the last 100 years. Being in a National Forest means houses get rebuilt, not malls constructed. What began as a great place to grow apples, is now the gateway to four seasons of sublime activities. And Wrightwood is so accessible, just an hour to the Big A. So funds planned for investment into senior condos, instead became a labor of love - in owning and sharing the mountains as a getaway to renew the core of you. So what was once a newlywed investment, three kids later, has become a lifetime of family memories - spread across multiple homes. There is so much to see and do that’s different at elevation. People unplug, literally, and thereby recharge themselves. But we can’t be here every week. So we take pride in maintaining and upgrading each home, to make better memories for our guests.

This was our third year staying in this cabin, and everytime, we had a lot of fun.. Hope to come back again next year.. Thank you for letting us stay..
Nice place to get away...and share some time with family
HAD A GREAT TIME WITH THE FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE HOT WATER TO SHOWER OTHER THEN THAT IT WAS GREAT ..
We are happy to hear that you had a good time at the Getaway Chalet. In regards to the hot water, the hot water heater is of sufficient size to property provide enough hot water, however the hot water is not unlimited! If a few people bathe one after another or if hot water is being used elsewhere, ie. the dishwasher, the hot water heater will need to refill with hot water which can take some time. Regardless, we appreciate your feedback.
very cozy. place is in beautiful location. very close to mountain high in order to facilitate our skiing activities

Step back in time and disconnect
We stayed at this house 10 years ago for our honeymoon. We decided to revisit for our anniversary. The house and Wrightwood was exactly the way we remembered! You don't always have a good signal so I just left the phone alone and we made more great memories spending time together. We grilled on the patio, played games, talked, and our son enjoyed the nearby playground. We also spent a day at Silverwood Lake which is beautiful! The breakfast at the Grizzly Cafe was delicious with great service. The only negative thing is that the house could use a good dusting, a few upgrades, and repairs. But the house is spacious and well equipped. We will consider staying here again to get away from the city! Barbara responds quickly and left no questions unanswered. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
