Wonderful old charm meets modern living
Perfect place to get away from it all. You feel like you are on top of the world. No neighbors around and views to die for. We had a wonderful time!!!
Magnetic View and Amazing Property
Words cannot express how beautiful this place is. My husband and I came for a family wedding at The Vineyards at Betty's Creek. The first trip up the mountain was a little daunting but once you do it - no problem. We did rent an AWD vehicle. I would not feel comfortable in less and 4WD would have been better. I cannot say enough about how PERFECT this place is. Every detail from the labeled switches to the supplies and artwork and EVERY thought went into luxury living at 4000 feet! I cannot wait to come back in my Jeep in October!
Heaven above the sky
Perfect for jet lagged Europeans 😀
This is a beautiful property with amazing views. Spacious and clean. We hope to be able to come back again. Convenient to Cherokee and Ashville.
If you want quiet, seclusion, and views, then look no further. This home was everything we were looking for and more. The kitchen is very spacious and has almost everything you could imagine. We enjoyed making meals everyday. The heater fans in the bathrooms were a big spoil for me when stepping out of the shower. The downstairs bedroom is quite big and has a comfy bed. We felt this bedroom isn't much smaller than the master bedroom, offering plenty of space, views, and a door to the bottom level porch. This bedroom also has a television and the bathroom is a few steps away. The loft bedroom offers limited privacy (you are not seen, but conversations can be heard between the loft bedroom and main living area), but when just needing a pillow to place your head at night then this worked. The main living area has a television and radio, and comfy seating to enjoy the views. The many magazines, books, and brochures scattered throughout was a nice surprise. The screened in porch was perfect to enjoy meals. The open porch on the main level offers fresh air, cool breezes, beautiful sunsets, and night time star gazing was unlike anything I had ever seen. Even listening to the thunder off the mountains while sitting here was very relaxing. The master bedroom is like two rooms in one. The bed was okay (we personally didn't care for the mattress), but waking up to the views out the huge windows had me looking forward to each morning. The sitting area in front of the windows was another relaxing point. This bedroom has no television, but we used our laptop to stream a movie for the background noise I need to sleep. The couch is extremely comfortable, and became my napping place while staring out at the mountains and valley below. There is also a sliding door to the open porch, and while sitting outside one night, we watched fireflies and even got visited by a bat.
There is so much to do in the surrounding area. We visited waterfalls, went hiking, drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as the scenic drive through the park over Hwy 441 from Cherokee to Gatlinburg, TN, stopping at Clingman's Dome and Newfound Gap, and saw elk at the entrance to the National Park. A grocery store is not far, and there is also a flea market. We stayed the last week of June, and because of the elevation, the weather was wonderful, from blanket wrapped coffee on the porch to afternoons that brought sunshine without the heat. We have recommended this home and are planning our next stay here.
Much Needed Break From Reality
I cannot say enough great things about this cabin. The view, the master suite, the kitchen... the list goes on and on! It is the perfect place to get away from every day life. We spent our evenings on the screened in porch overlooking the gorgeous view. You do have to travel 'up' to get to this cabin but it's completely worth it. The driveway is steep but after a time or two we were able to navigate it with not much effort. We recommend going rafting on the Nantahala River and we also did a day trip to Asheville and toured the Biltmore Estate. We travel to this area every few years and I think we finally found 'our cabin'. Will definitely be back!
