Incredible location across from the Wharf, Cowell’s Beach, and the National Marine Sanctuary Visitor’s Center in beautiful 'Surf City' Santa Cruz, California. Once you arrive, you won't need your car with so many activities and restaurants to choose from in walking distance. Less than 5 minute walk to West Cliff or Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

The Monarch villa features beautiful ocean views throughout, imported old world travertine floors, granite countertops, modern bathrooms with soaking tubs and the finest finishes. Each villa is single level and offers elevator access and enclosed parking for your convenience.


For those with larger groups, we can accommodate groups of 12 or up to 22 by combining with our other two villas in the same building. We have a Penthouse Villa (4th Floor which rents for $375/night) and also the Monarch villa (2nd floor, which has variable rates seasonally).

The Penthouse villa (VRBO #791467) features a 1500 square foot outdoor living space with full outdoor kitchen, and a 1 bedroom 1 bath studio which could be combined to with your villa to make the ultimate vacation. All villas together have 9 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.

We founded Montalvo Homes & Estates, a high end residential and commercial brokerage in Santa Cruz. I serve as president of the local educational foundation, library friends board and serve on the Planning Commission for Scotts Valley.

We designed this property and built it from the ground up in our favorite spot in Santa Cruz. Construction completed in October 2014. We used the finest building materials, and borrowed ideas on amenities from resorts we have visited around the world. There really isn't a better location to experience all the fun of Santa Cruz. The location puts in you a spot where you never have to get in your car to enjoy all that Santa Cruz has to offer. You could stay a month and not hit every restaurant in walking distance.

What makes this villa unique

From the moment you drive up, you'll notice the arched toped hand hewn wooden doors, and when you step into your unit, you will find old world hand chiseled travertine stone floors through out. Enjoy your favorite drink from the bar in the kitchen, while watching the ocean at Cowells Beach. Dozen of restaurants are just outside your door, or if you like to cook, the Viking Range is professional quality. If you are travelling with Friends, you'll enjoy having two master suites, each with a kind size bed. We designed this property for our own enjoyment, and we hope you love it as much as we do!

The Villa is the perfect place to stay when you have a large family or multiple families wanting to

We just stayed for a second time at the Monarch Villa and enjoyed ourselves very much. The place is very clean and well stocked. The location is ideal for my 70+-year-old parents. We have already booked the place again for next year! We love the huge kitchen because we are in Italian family love to cook. We have relatives that come down to Santa Cruz during the same week as we do, and so it's fun to have them over and there's plenty a room for them as well.

Very close to the Boardwalk and Beach

Great location. Spacious. Open floor plan. Ideal to rent w/large families or multiple couples. We had three mini groups within my family stay here during our trip plus we comfortably hosted a dinner w/the larger family of 30+. Owner was available and quickly responded to any needs or questions.
