Beautiful Views!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the Rustic Cabin in the Mountains! We traveled with 3 toddlers who loved running in the large yard, looking for fish in the pond, and butterflies near the deck. We loved relaxing in the comfy chairs taking in the beautiful views. The cabin was very cozy and well stocked with everything we needed. Val and Peter were wonderful hosts!

Enjoyed a relaxing stay!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful cabin - quiet and private but not too far from Asheville. We stayed for a couple nights in August and were pleasantly surprised by the lack of mosquitos. Also appreciated having the washer and dryer. As an athlete, I enjoyed morning workouts running from the cabin to the highway and back - practically a mile long hill (the highway itself wasn't a welcoming to runners). Also, since nobody was renting the cabin immediately after us, Peter offered that we could stay for most of the departure day if we wanted.

Overall, the cabin was what we expected and provided a nice respite. It was homey and welcoming.

Beautiful spot close to Asheville.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. Brought our two kids and our dog who loved exploring the property and hanging out on the deck. Asheville is about a 30 minute easy drive so you can check out the town and then retreat to the cabin and feel like you're "getting away from it all". We really enjoyed chatting with Peter and will definitely be back.

Great view, great hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Pete and Val's cabin. The view is great, and the hosts are wonderful. They are right up the hill if you need anything. But, saying that - they thought of everything before we got there. We brought our two dogs, a lab and a golden retriever, and they got to swim in the pond and run around in the big yard. The cabin is very comfortable as well. We had all the necessary items to make breakfast in the morning, the bed was comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out inside. The wifi is a little spotty, so don't rely on it. We didn't really get a good cell phone connection until we were back on the main road. It's also a bit of a climb up the hill to get to the cabin, but our CR-V made it with only a little resistance. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you go into Mars Hill to eat, stop at the Stack House!

Quiet and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

A cozy and comfortable cabin in peaceful surroundings and with a wonderful view. We loved the porch and took all our meals outside. There are no mosquitoes at this altitude. At night, there are hardly any lights or sounds and one can see all the stars and listen to the sounds of nature. The place feels very private but is not isolated, with the owners house right up the hill. The owners are very nice, helpful and easy to reach. We enjoyed our chats with Peter and occasional visits of his shy and sweet lab. The location is beautiful and very convenient to Asheville, Roan Mountain and The Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is well equipped , including washer and drier, dishwasher, hair dryer, iron, toiletries and an abundance of towels. An extra frying pan would be nice . :) The internet connection can be spotty at times. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would love to return!

Lovely little cabin in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is perfect for a mountain trip if you're looking to stay outside the Asheville area. It has lovely views and was clean and comfortable with a gracious host. There are some very good local restaurants in Burnsville and Weaverville but if you want a big variety, you will need to head down to Asheville which is a bit of a drive. We stayed away from Asheville during our stay and went rafting on the French Board and hiking at Max Patch. It was the perfect location for some peace and quiet with a beautiful view. We would definitely stay again. (P.S. I would recommend Blue Heron rafting center, very good trip!)
