Great house and great location

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 6 adults and 2 children all had a great time at this property. The lake access is perfect and the proximity to town makes it very convenient compared to other locations on the lake. The owners are very friendly and helpful hosts as well.

A Wonderful Week in Maine on Beaucaire Avenue!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I & several friends spent a wonderful week in the house on Beaucaire Ave. Our host met us on the evening of our arrival & showed us throughout the house & explained how everything worked - he was very friendly & welcoming. The house was delightful - spacious rooms with comfortable furnishing, great showers, a stove to die for, & even a washer & dryer. There was also a room with a wall full of books, & a stereo which included a turntable! The property was spotless & everything was in working order. With the house located right on Megunticook Lake, we were able to put our kayaks in & explore the lake. The view from the deck was fabulous, especially at sunset. We lingered on the deck for as long as possible to enjoy the wonderful sights overlooking the lake. We were also able to see & hear loons on the lake, which really makes it feel like Maine! Exercise options were readily available - my husband rode his bike, friends and I walked to Barrett's Cove & back - a picturesque trek down Beaucaire Avenue. Being located a short distance from Camden made it possible to run into town to stock up on food. We highly recommend French & Brawn Market Place (great muffins!) & Megunticook Market. I am also very partial to Stonewall Kitchen with their free tasting samples & wide variety of foods. Their Wild Maine Blueberry Jam is the best! We ate a wonderful lobster dinner at home with the lobsters supplied and cooked by Camden's Hannaford Supermarket. Activities in the area were plentiful: shopping & dining in Camden, wine tasting at the Cellar Door Winery in Lincolnville, kayaking at Barrett's Cove, sightseeing at Mt. Battie - we did them all! We also highly recommend Chez Michel Restaurant in Lincolnville Beach, a particular favorite of ours. Their food is spectacular! We hated to leave at the end of our week & hope to return next year. Thanks to Jim & Jennifer for sharing their lovely home! We would definitely recommend this property to all!

Wonderful lakefront home!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful well maintained home located in mid coast Maine. Easy day trips to Bar Harbor or Portland. Boating and fishing just steps from your back porch. The house is large enough to accommodate a family of eight. A visit to Mount Battie is a must see to enjoy spectacular views of the Camden area. Would definitely recommend this property to family and friends!

Everything you need for a Maine Lakefront Vacation

  • 4 of 5

This camp is large enough for a couple of families. You can enjoy books, puzzles and music during a summer rain as well as having access to sun and water-sports at the front door step. We caught several large mouth bass off the dock. The canoe offers easy access to other fishing holes. There is a short walk to the Maidens Cliff trail head as well as a family farm stand with vegetables that are too perfect to be believed! Front deck, large dinner table, fireplace, dock for swimming, fishing, and motorboat tie ups invite an active lifestyle while enjoying the natural beauty of Maine's Lakefronts.

The only reason I didn't score this camp as a 5 star is because the house's wood finishes on all surfaces made it a bit noisy if someone needed quiet. There were plenty of fans available to create white noise if needed.

I can't wait to come back to this one of a kind Lake House. This is my favorite property, and one that I pray we revisit! Thanks for allowing us to share your home Jim and Jennifer!

Fantastic vacation retreat

  • 5 of 5

We spent the week at this property with three generations - grandparents in early 70's, parents in early 40's and kids (7-11). The house was perfect for all and big enough to provide space/privacy for all. Would recommend for 2 smaller families with kids or one larger extended family. Very well maintained and functional interior which leads to large deck (with grill) overlooking a cove on the lake. If cooking in, great kitchen with workable space plus grill just off kitchen on the deck. Fantastic sunset views from the deck and the private dock on the property. Great swimming right off the dock. Canoe and 2 open ocean kayaks provided (consider whether to rent tandem kayak or SUP from local shop) with plenty of places to tour. WIFI and internet TV provided. House located next to the road but minimal car noise (not high travel road). Very easy/short trip into Camden with food markets and bigger grocery store just short drive away. Also easy to get to Lincolnville via back roads to avoid any route 1 traffic. Easy driving access to many varied hiking trails. Owner very welcoming upon arrival and quick to answer the few questions we had via text/email. Sheets and towels provided with garbage/recyclables removed frequently. Overall great week in Camden and the lake. Strong recommendation for property. In Camden suggest Schooner Olad for sailing, sea kayaking tour, Peter Ott's and Harbor Dog for food, Megunticook Market for food trips, day trip to Islesboro via ferry in Lincolnville and hiking in state park.

Lovely home, wonderful spot, perfect vacation!

  • 5 of 5

The house is gorgeous and well maintained, and on a very special part of the lake. We saw eagles, and beavers and our kids were so happy the whole week, swimming! The owners are responsive and helpful, and seems curious about how they can make the stay better for you. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay!
