Very pretty cottage, well supplied with what you need.
It was a lovely cabin. Very comfortable. Early snow was beautiful on the trees!
Thank you for your kind words Nancy! I am sorry you could not enjoy it longer. Please come back anytime you can sneak away for a few days!
Comfortable cabin in a great location
Three of us rented this cabin for 4 nights in October, hoping to explore the North Woods. It was a short and scenic drive to many cities, Minocqua. Manitowish Waters, Eagle River and only about an hour drive up to Bond Falls in the UP, well worth seeing.
Having a Mobile station that sells beer and an ice cream parlor and coffee shop all a short walk away, the location couldn't be beat. There's a nice Sentry grocery store in town that meant we didn't have to eat out every meal. The kitchen had most everything we needed, microwave, large empty frig, coffee maker. We knew ahead of time to bring our own paper products. I'd say bring condiments too. Other than some sugar cubes pretty much everything is cleared out from precious renters.
The bedrooms were comfortable and the living space felt like home. Loved sitting on the deck at sunrise where Eagle spotting was common. The tiny bathroom was really the only room that made me miss the comforts of home.
Judging from all the boats coming down to our bay, the fishing here is fab. I saw a northern pike dart past the dock one day and watched people on boats pulling in one fish after another. I personally wouldn't want to swim off the shore, too much heavy vegetation, but I can see going out on a boat and take a dip. Besides fishing, the snowmobile trail that is so close would be a big winter draw as well.
The homes nearby are second homes for most, but not rentals, so depending on when you go, it might be really isolated like we found it. You're so close, yet feel far away. We enjoyed it a lot.
Hi Kathy, Thank you for the very nice review of SandyDen on West Bay! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and that the cabin met your needs! I am always concerned that I have phrased my wording on the website in such a manner that guests truly get what they feel they've been promised, so thank you for confirming that. We'd love to have you back again, anytime you need a visit to the northwoods!
Spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying coffee or a cocktail and on the pier fishing. The location was perfect!!! We have small kids and it was very nice. Loved that it's so close to Cathys. Bed was comfortable & clean! Already discussing our next trip back. Thank you!
Madelyne, Thank you for the nice comments! When you take the time to do that, it reassures others who are considering booking, so we really do appreciate it! I'm glad you all had a nice visit. Please come back anytime you can sneak away!
Time can seem to stand still when the early-morning mist hangs over the lake and your canoe glides across tranquil waters. Or in the still of a hunter’s blind, listening to your breath as everything else fades away. Make no mistake, it’s a different world in St. Germain. And with thousands of acres of lakes surrounded by the vast Northwoods, there’s plenty of room for everyone. We’ve got trails galore for hiking and biking, and of course we’re well known as a preferred destination for snowmobiling. It’s an outdoorsman’s paradise here, and you can count on St. Germain to make it memorable—each and every time you visit.
