My wife, daughter and I stayed here mid to late August and we had a great time. We were met by the welcoming, efficient and knowledgable Maria Lemos who drove us to the house, kindly helping with a stop en-route at the supermarket for supplies as we had arrived late evening.
The house is set above and behind Ioulida with an unrivalled view back across the Aegean to the mainland peninsula. The sun sets here so prepare so spend a lot of time photographing the sunsets - you can literally watch it sink behind the distant mountains. I'd advise a car but there's a fine restaurant, supermarket and bakery a short(ish) walk away all near Kea Villas. Also, there's a reliable if slightly infrequent bus service in summer. (www.kea.gr/index.php/el/tourismos/dromologia-leoforion). Taxi's are also affordable to the main towns but if you want to go to Karthea for example you'll pay 25 Euros each way.
The house itself is cosy and comfortable with a small but impressively equipped kitchen (Dishwasher, two coffee machines, juicer, fridge freezer etc - but no microwave). Living area is fine with table and chairs and sofa but we ate outside every day where you have the choice of two terraces and tables, one more protected from the sometimes gusty wind. There's a very attractive mezzanine level inside where our daughter loved to play and read. Downstairs there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms (on en-suite) with a utility room and washing machine. The pool is brilliant with a great view again and room for sun loungers.
Nowhere is prohibitively far on Kea so you can get to wherever you need to go quickly and enjoy the wonderful sights, tastes and people of this beautiful island. Heartily recommended.
