This home was built in 1996 and we are the second generation owners. It has been used as a summer home since 2011.
The Owner purchased this house in 1996
When we arrived at the cabin, we found out that one shower head at the master bathroom leaks too much so can not be used. And another shower head at the second bathroom was not fixed on the wall properly, so whenever we touched it, it fell. Also the gas grill in the garage didn't work due to the lack of gas. Regarding these issues we tried to contact her and left voice mail two times, but she never called back or sent someone to fix these problems until we left the cabin.
Enjoyed our stay for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.
The cabin and property are beautiful. Very roomy, well kept and comfortable.
Had everything we needed and enjoyed the privacy and bonfires. Was a little surprised to hear some traffic sounds in the distance from the highway but it was not a problem and it quieted down nicely at night.
Plenty of places to go and things to see during the day that are nearby or relatively close.
Local tavern called The Jolly Inn was a great place to stop in for a few beers after day trips and before heading back to the cabin. Did't eat there, but the food looked good and sure smelled good.
Most definitely would stay again and highly recommend it to others.
Thanks for the great getaway!
This cabin was just perfect for my family and friends we were a total of 9 people and had plenty of space left. Fishing was minutes away definitely will visit this cabin again...
My husband and I, along with two other young married couples, rented this site over Fourth of July weekend looking for a central spot to explore the Upper Peninsula. Needless to say, it was great! The cabin was fully equipped with anything you could possibly need on a weekend getaway. Being quite picky, I was well impressed with the tidiness and cleanliness of the cabin. Everything was functioning and in good order. We especially enjoyed the open concept floor plan of the cabin. The upstairs has two bedrooms and a cute den sitting area especially stacked with board games.
Some of our favorite highlights were kayaking the river, seeing the Curtis fireworks nearby (awesome!), and hiking the Pictured Rocks area. James and Ellece were wonderful to work with. They were super amiable and sensitive to any needs or requests we had concerning the cabin.
It's just perfect for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, and centrally located for UP attractions like Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, etc. The owners, James and Ellece, and the local contact Rachel, are all very friendly and well-organized.
Me and my family had such a great time here. It was a last minute trip we planned and the owners were extremely helpful in getting us situated at the last minute. The home/cottage was beautiful and clean. We especially enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the beautiful back deck. It sits on some gorgeous land with a river just feet away. The property is centrally located for all the best attractions the upper peninsula has to offer. We will be back for sure.
