About the property

3 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath in quiet neighborhood, close to beach & bike path! Sleeps 6

This fully air conditioned family-friendly home is tucked away on a beautifully landscaped lot in a peaceful residential neighborhood, south of Route 28. The tranquility of your surroundings will help to slow your pace and serve to remind you that you are on vacation! The no-thru traffic adds peace- of-mind during evening walks or children playing in the yard. Immediately you get the sense that you are in a genuine, Cape Cod home. The living room invites you to sink into the overstuffed chair with a good book, or perhaps cozy-up with the family for a movie night viewed on the large flat-screen T.V. As you enter the sun-filled kitchen, you will be amazed at all the amenities that you would expect from your own home; everything from matching dishes and flatware to new appliances, a coffee maker and fully-stocked kitchen. You will even find a lobster pot for those wishing to feast from the Chatham Fish Market's spoils of the day! The farm table becomes the perfect setting for your family to enjoy the home-cooked meals prepared in this functional kitchen. Also on the first floor you will find two bedrooms adjacent to one another: The master bedroom, with softly decorated furnishings and warm colors to help relax both mind and body, contains a queen bed with new Sealy mattress. Next door is the Mermaid room, colorfully decorated with two twin beds, also with new, quality mattresses. The easily accessible shared bath on the first floor has a full tub and shower, but you will most likely find this unnecessary as you will want to indulge in the novelty of using the newly remodeled outdoor shower to wash away the day's sand and sun. Upstairs is a retreat, either a separate place for families who may be vacationing together or a space to allow the kids to be independent of the adults. We will leave a coin for you to flip as arguments are sure to erupt over who gets to sleep in the king-sized bed! In addition to the bedroom, and half-bath, there is a private loft with futon. A game table, air hockey table and flat screen T.V. make this a desirable room to congregate late into the night, without disturbing others who may be sleeping downstairs.

We realize that you will feel so comfortable in our home that it will be difficult to venture just a few steps off the kitchen to the bucolic backyard and enjoy an afternoon siesta in the shaded hammock. The barbecue calls as this outdoor space provides a perfect setting for backyard dining! Finish the evening off with cocktails for the adults and a campfire...don't forget the marshmallows! For those wishing to be a bit more active, footpaths leading to Harding's Beach is a walkable .7 mile away. Another private path provides access to kayak Buck's Creek salt-water marsh, with open access to the Nantucket Sound. With all that Chatham has to offer-whether you've rented SUPs at Cape Cod Beach Chair Company and paddled the ocean or were astonished as you watched the seals follow the boats in to the Chatham Pier with the day's catch, or perhaps you picnicked at Kate Gould Park as you enjoyed an evening of music at the Friday night band concert-you will rest easy knowing that Maiden Chatham awaits you. May many wonderful memories be...

About Karin Murphy

We are a family from upstate New York. Over the years, we had the wonderful opportunity to vacation on Cape Cod, specifically Chatham. One of our most cherished family memories is the summer we spent two weeks in Chatham and our young children had their very first experience of living in a "neighborhood" where they could ride their bikes to their friends' houses and venture off to the beach on their own, a novelty growing up in the country, where they had to be driven everywhere! The photo pictured was taken in the dunes at Harding's Beach. Little did we know when we took this picture that one day we would have our own home not far from this very spot! Lady Luck smiled down on us and here we are with this wonderful opportunity to provide others, just like us, with the gift of making cherished family memories here on the Cape! Our whole family had a part in lovingly restoring this home to shine as it was meant to shine! We were personally invested as each renovation was (and, truthfully, still is!) made. It's been a labor of love and love fills our home! It is our hope that you will find our home welcoming and invite you to make your own memories as you share in the beauty that is only Maiden Chatham!

Why Karin Murphy chose Chatham

As corny as this sounds, the property just spoke to us. Immediately we felt a connection to the house, the neighborhood and, of course, Chatham. Once you visit, you are sure to feel it too. But don't take our word for it, come experience it for yourself. There is something very special about Maiden Chatham.

What makes this house unique

Our home has the convenient advantage of being so close to everything: town, shopping, restaurants, beaches and the bike path...yet what makes us unique is how removed we feel from all of these conveniences by being perfectly situated in a peaceful, beautiful neighborhood! It is truly the best of both worlds!

Guestbook comments from the owner

“This home in Chatham was awesome! My wife with our two infants along with another couple and their infant stayed for four days at this house and we wish we could have stayed longer. The house was very clean and the owner was super responsive to any questions we had with the house or just general recommendations. The location was great - five minutes from a great family friendly beach and a few minutes to downtown Chatham and the lighthouse. The house is equipped with everything you would need to cook, including an outdoor grill. The house also has an outdoor shower, a firepit (that we used to roast marshmallows), a great patio with a bench and other furniture, including kids chairs and big yard. For a Cape getaway this place worked great and we would definitely look to stay here again for any future trips back to the Cape. Overall we really couldn't have asked for a better vacation spot. I highly recommend this home for anybody considering a trip to the Cape. ”

Simply AMAZING!!

We had the best holiday in Cape Cod last summer (2016) and Karin played a key part in that. The house is just perfect, the location can't be beaten and what can I say about Karin...the best!! From the beginning she was super helpful, answered all our queries, provided tons of information and generally went above and beyond to make sure our stay was super special...she even had a cake and balloons ready for us when we arrived as it was my son's 10th birthday!!! The house has EVERYTHING you may need but if for whatever reason you can't find it she makes sure she sends someone there to look for it or replace (like with the cooler bag for the beach). Chatham is THE place to be in cape cod in the summer and you should try to be there on a Friday so you can enjoy picnic and band night in town - a very special event! Thank you thank you thank you Karin for looking after your house so well but most of all for taking such great care of us during our holiday, you helped to make it extra special and we will be back!!!

Perfect house for family celebration!

  • 5 of 5

The house is even prettier than the pictures show. The house was in a perfect Chatham location- close to everything on an adorable street. Perfectly decorated in every detail, it was had every thing we needed for our family vacation. The owners were wonderful to work with; they provided excellent advice for restaurant selections, getting to the beaches, things to do on the Cape. We will be going back again!

I had the good fortune of arranging a last minute getaway with my daughter and grandson in Chatham for the long holiday weekend. Although I didn't have a lot of time to plan,Karin was able to provide us with enough activities to keep us entertained and busy. When we weren't exploring the quaint town of Chatham, we had a relaxing time back at the house. Everything was neat and orderly; a perfect place to unwind. I highly recommend this adorable home! Thank you Karin for making the arrangements so easy!

Owner's Response: Thank you, Meredith, for your kind words. Making sure our home is clean and inviting is a priority that you, like so many others before you, have valued. Setting our standards high, we have found, is greatly appreciated among our guests. We are happy that you were able to pull yourselves away from your cozy surroundings to get out and enjoy the activities we suggested. Just a note, if you come back later next year, the Chatham Lighthouse is open for free tours! I know that would definitely interest your grandson! Looking forward to your next stay with us, Karin

Enchanting Chatham House

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you arrive at this beautifully nestled house, you feel right at home. The property compliments the season and the fauna is in abundance. Upon entering, you notice that nothing is without purpose. The layout is inviting, with beautiful decorations and colors that show both a traditional and a contemporary cape house. The kitchen, in particular, is very well organized. From the cookware to the pantry, everything is logical and efficient.

Being a first time user VRBO, I found my stay noting short of phenomenal. The host made the entirety of the trip very easy, with clear instruction and suggestions. Main roads are within reach, with access to a plethora of activities, sites and resturants. A quiet and charming place for anyone looking to stay in the Cape.

Owner's Response: First let me say John that you and Michelle were delightful and a pleasure with which to work! As a first time VRBO traveler, I am happy we were able to provide you with such a positive experience! (Now you will never want to book a hotel room again!) I am pleased that you were able to make such good use of the kitchen and enjoyed preparing delicious home-cooked meals. We try to think of everything for our guests in order for them to make such endeavors go seamlessly, as if you are at home. It is our hope that you will consider our place just that: your home-away-from-home! Come back again soon-you are always welcome! Best, Karin

Chatham Getaway

  • 5 of 5

There was no better place to go for a relaxing New Year's Eve getaway than this wonderful Cape Cod home. It was a long drive up to Massachusetts, but as soon as we walked through the door, we knew it was worth it. Most people think of Cape Cod just as a summer-time destination but the quaint town of Chatham was decorated with Christmas lights and filled with winter cheer! There was so much for us to explore between the lighthouses and local shops, but we really didn't need to leave the house!

This home is so charming, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The rooms are well lit with wonderfully soft sheets and comforters too; it didn't take long for us to feel right at home. Karin was an awesome host, she left us everything we could possibly need and if we had any questions she was just a text message away- always with an immediate response. As someone who has stayed in many different homes, reliable communication from host to guest is essential for me. She even left us a thoughtful list of activities, food recommendations and hike trails that we used each morning to plan our day. I had not one complaint, it was perfect! Thank you again for the memorable experience, we can't wait to come back.

I'd highly recommend this home to families, couples, first time VRBO users and experienced travelers alike!

Owner's Response: I know the drive was long but I am so glad you decided to make the trip Michelle! It sounds like you made the most of your stay here on the Cape...and even introduced me to something new that I am eager to share with future guests: The Cape Cod Chip tour sounds like a worthwhile and fun attraction. Thank you for that tidbit! It was my pleasure to host you and John on your first visit to Cape Cod. I suggest you come back again...and this time make sure to be included in the town-wide New Year's photo! Warm Regards, Karin
