A wonderful cottage! Perfect home for exploring Amsterdam

  • 5 of 5

Maria was absolutely wonderful. Her communication prior to our arrival was very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was very comfortable for our group. The evening views were amazing of the lights across the IJ. It was an easy walk to the tram and a short ride to Centraal. Special thanks to Maria very friendly and really made sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Great location and ideal property

  • 5 of 5

Maria was a delightful host, really accommodating with good suggestions for what to do in Amsterdam and provided so much food, which was amazing. Its in a lovely spot to watch the sunset as the barges come in and out of Amsterdam and a short walk and short tram from Central Station. We loved it and will be back. Thanks

Very nice property for a visit to The Netherlands

  • 5 of 5

My father and I spent the week in Maria’s cottage earlier this month. The cottage itself is clean and was very comfortable for the two of us but could easily accommodate a couple and 1-2 children. It is convenient to the 26 Tram, about a 10-15 minute walk (my dad is 75 and less than a year ago had heart surgery, he managed the walk to and from the Tram fine), which will take you to Central Station where you can easily transfer to another tram, train or take a ferry to just about anywhere in Amsterdam.

The cottage provided a very peaceful evening retreat for us to relax after busy days of visiting the museums, breweries and restaurants of Amsterdam. We especially appreciated city at the outdoor table while enjoying local local beer and cheese each evening as we watched the commercial traffic in the waterways begins the cottage.

Maria is very friendly and helpful. She suggested many places for us to see during our trip and took us back to the airport for our trip home.

I would highly recommend Maria’ cottage for your stay in Amsterdam. I plan on returning with my wife later this year and will definitely stay here again.

cottage near everything with swimming

  • 5 of 5

The best thing about this cottage for me, as a Masters swimmer, was the easy access to the perfect temperature water for early morning or evening swims. The cottage easily housed us and our granddaughter with privacy. Everything one needs is included. Maria provided us with some excellent gluten free items and also some fruits, vegetables and excellent cheese. The easy to use metro system is an easy, 12 minute walk. There were umbrellas for our one rainy day. Helpful literature was provided. Maria picked us up from and took us back to the airport for a very reasonable fee, less than uber and competitive with the metro and train, assuming one even knew how to us it. Once you are there the metro is the way to get around though uber can work well for this location. The location is close to everything, but peaceful and quiet. We've live in homes with incredible water views in Seattle and Panama, and this one right up there. There are always boats and ships of all sizes coming and going. There are binoculars for your enjoyment. We recommend this home and hostess and hope it will be available for our next trip to Amsterdam.

Great and interesting!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Maria and her husband were gracious hosts!

We were picked up at the train station and were welcomed to our inn which was immaculate;provided with food provisions to start our stay;nice walk on a dike to the tram station to visit Amsterdam;the walk from the tram station is more than 10 minutes if you have short legs!

Watching ships go by the dike was so fun!

Maria then took us to Schipol for our departure.

Very nice host and hostess!

Very hospitable

Thank you Van Dee Liets!!!!!

Great cottage in a great city

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the cottage with our children (aged 11 and 8). It was nice to be a short tram ride out of town and the cottage was perfect for us. Maria was very friendly and helpful. We loved the cottage and we loved our time in Amsterdam.
