I absolutely loved the spot of the rental. I LOVED looking at the bay and watching the manatee swim

  • 4 of 5

We loved the spot of the rental. The unit is dated some but we had a ball and loved watching the manatee in the bay and the fireworks on Tuesday nights. We ate almost every evening meal on the porch. It was heaven. The problem I have is the vrbo. I got my emailed bill and paid it. But Apparently vrbo decides to charge my card an additional 124.00 2 days later. Not cool. It was NEVER listed as a fee. They just had my credit card on file and charged it. I am so frustrated. This unit was worth what I paid but NOWHERE did they mention another fee. Sneaky and underhanded. Don't use vrbo. Just search units online and do direct deals if possible.

Beautiful Location & View

  • 2 of 5

We love Shelter Cove! This unit has a great location above the French Bakery facing the harbor. Shelter Cove has wonderful restaurants, easy access to biking trails and lots of places to walk.

This condo needs updating. The kitchen has 6 cork screws and one water glass. Knives, silverware, glassware, dishes are less than "garage sale" quality. Appliances are old and the bathrooms are dated.

The bed was a little hard for my taste and the pillows with a little old There was construction going on in the building so most of the spaces are parking were filled with either supplies, Dumpsters, equipment and construction trucksI need to give them a bit of a break as There was a recent hurricane here. Beautiful Views Looking Down on a Picturesque Marina, Outdoor Diners, and With Live Entertainment

  • 4 of 5

Returning to Shelter Cove is a pleasure we have enjoyed for a couple of decades--each visit with an ever expanding list of dining and entertainment offerings. Our third floor apartment--fresh and well-appointed--looked down on Scott's Fish Market and over an impressive array of yachts and tour boats in the large marina. Numerous restaurants, all a few steps away, offer an array of choices, from casual Mexican at San Miguel's outdoor (and indoor); the same outdoor and indoor choices at Scott's Fish Market restaurant. Both features and a nightly vocalist. A few steps away is Bucci's Italian cuisine: dine in or at the large marina-side bar (and with daily specials). There is Captain Gillan's Seafood Buffet, or Ela's Blu Water Grille--a second floor spot with a long view over the open water beyond the marina. Mid-week, a vocalist or band sets up at a large gazebo with stepped seating and entertains the large gathering of families, couples and children. Overall, it's a delightful and lovely place to spend a day, week, or longer....
