We had a wonderful week at Palmetto Dunes - we stayed in a unit at the Moorings.
The location could not be beat - literally steps to the beach (and the bar and grille!).
The downside to our stay was the overall condition of the unit, as well as the sparsity of the accessory amenities.
While there was a coffee maker provided, there were no coffee filters. There was a lack of things like extra toilet paper (although there were two rolls but not enough for a family for one week). No additional paper towels. Cooking and bakeware were sparse.
Additionally the overall condition of the unit was less than stellar - given it is clearly older. The unit had at one point sustained water damage from the roof, which had never been repaired. The windows were foggy. None of the bathroom door latches/locks worked. The kitchen faucet was visibly broken (although it did work).
Additionally the bed linens could not have been cheaper - the Queen bed in the master unit had a fitted sheet that literally was too small - each night it would slip off the mattress and we would wake to find ourselves lying on the bare mattress.
Bottom line is we had a great week, and the short-comings of the unit in now way dampened our spirits.
But when we go back we'll certainly be more selective in where we stay.
