Tarhuna est une maison de vacances moderne, de plain-pied, louée du vendredi au vendredi, à Aultgrishan, Melvaig, à 9 miles le long de la côte accidentée de Gairloch. Il est situé dans une position paisible et élevée, entouré par la faune, en regardant à travers le canton de crofting, avec des vues spectaculaires sur le Minch à Skye, Harris et Lewis. Il y a un accès par rampe et un accès en fauteuil roulant à toutes les chambres. Le salon lumineux et aéré avec plafond voûté est parfait pour se détendre. Depuis les grandes fenêtres du salon, vous pouvez regarder les expéditions monter et descendre (lunette fournie), les oiseaux se nourrissant dans le jardin et les moutons paissant à proximité sur la croft. Il y a un grand espace plat dans le grand jardin clos pour le stationnement et les enfants peuvent jouer en toute sécurité dans la vaste zone gazonnée ....

Cottage did not disappoint, it was exactly as described. Cottage was well presented, very clean and spacious. Everything you might need was provided, absolutely fantastic. Location was perfect especially for watching the fantastic sunsets. Hoping to book again sometime in 2027. Despite a glitch with the car both Mark & Maria went above and beyond to help. Forbes was excellent in keeping contact when help was required. Highly recommend this property for a very relaxing holiday.

Very peaceful location.

This house is very remote which was what we were looking for and it didn’t disappoint. With huge garden ideal if you have a dog. Everything you will need for your stay is provided. Only one thing that could be improved on is a larger tv but wasn’t a major issue. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Very spacious and well equipped accommodation with great view out to sea. The location was quite a long drive down a single track road from Gairloch which added quite a bit of time to doing anything. The hard floors everywhere were slippery for our elderly dog and we wished we had taken a few mats with us.

Melvaig cottage

Very well equipped and comfortable accommodation with great views across to Skye on a clear day. Very peaceful location with sheep surrounding the cottage and a cuckoo in the distance. Highly recommend if you want a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of life.

A quiet location with stunning views across the sea.

A well positioned house 8 miles from the lovely village of Gairloch. Stunning views across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides and Skye. We had the most amazing sunsets. The house was well proportioned with a very well equipped kitchen. If you’re looking for a peaceful property with a beautiful enclosed garden for kids and/or dogs then consider this property.

Lovely comfortable home is a peaceful perfect location

Such a lovely house to stay at, if you like wildlife this area is fantastic, we've seen a heard of Red Deer only meters from the house and also seen Golden and White Tailed Sea Eagles on the road back to Gairloch. House is very well equipped with everything you could ever need, the addition of the log burner was a very welcome sight. I highly recommend this comfy, clean and well maintained property and will definitely return in the future.

Great family home from home

Absolutely loved our holiday at Tarhuna The house is spacious and well equipped, The kitchen has everything you have at home, we even baked scones and bread while there. Comfy beds too, had the best nights sleep ever. The views are breathtaking, the garden is well secured with high fences all round, so no chance of our dog escaping. I really can’t recommend this property enough !! We have been to a lot of holiday rentals over the years and this one is up there at the top of the list.

Lovely quiet property

Well presented with fantastic views. The property was very clean throughout and well equipped. Lots of parking and great views. The village itself is stunning, quietly tucked away about 10mins on the other side of Gairloch and great walks nearby. I’d suggest getting a food shop on route as the only local shop is a convenience store in nearby Gairloch but this was the appeal to us, quiet with some great walks and views, I’d happily stay here again. Highly recommend.

The home is beautifully presented and has absolutely everything you could possibly need while on holiday in the Western Highlands, With plenty of information on what you can see and where to go to fully appreciate all the beauty of the landscape and the amazing wild life. Perfect location and accommodation.

Having read other reviews of Tarhuna we booked and were not disappointed. It was perfect for us and the dogs, the sunsets from the sitting room were beyond beautiful. Nearby beaches of Big Sand, Gairloch and the gem that is Firemore beach were glorious. We even went in the sea-in wetsuits! The Black Pearl Caribbean Kitchen in Gairloch was superb. Everyone was friendly. We simply had a wonderful, relaxing two weeks in a beautiful house in a beautiful part of the world. We will return. Thank you.

Fantastic accommodation

Very peaceful location with stunning sea views. Comfortable, clean, well equipped. Fran, our host, was really nice and helpful. Our 2 little Yorkies enjoyed the secure garden. We enjoyed good weather and would recommend The Black Pearl, Gairloch, for tasty food - the ribs were beautiful as was the rum punch. Great butchers in Gairloch that sells fruit and veg too and the small Morrisons shop was well stocked. Gairloch beach is lovely and good walks at Flowerdale Glen. We also really liked The Badracho Inn, great fish and chips and lovely beer garden overlooking the bay. We will definitely be returning.
