Perfect location for 3 Sisters
Small but adequate townhouse (bedrooms on 2nd floor). Very short paddle down to 3 Sisters which was amazing. Also nice to just sit out back and watch the manatees feeding just off the docks. Very peaceful.
Nice dog friendly town home .
Perfect location for kayaking!
Communication could be a bit better, but can be easily remedied by owner.
Important details about the property are sent with as attachments to an email that includes pages of legalese and could easily be missed, as I did .
Other than that it was great, especially if you’re traveling with Fido.
I would book again.
We certainly appreciate the 5 star review and will be happy to host this guest again. To address the communication comment, we sent an email with instructions on how to access the lock box with the key code (typically twice) with a subject that says "PLEASE READ". This guest didn't review the information or open the email and showed up at the property wondering how to get in.....we are open to feedback on how to get a guest to read their emails pertaining to the details of the rental before they arrive?? Superb location and boat docking
This town house was much roomier than I expected it to be from the pictures posted online. The bedrooms were roomy upstairs and comfortable. The master has a nice balcony overlooking the canal. Kitchen is a little tight but has everything you need. Even though it is dog friendly- It didnt feel like it. Definitely want to bring my pups next time. We brought our boat and stayed out all day and the location is great to pop in for lunch and go back out. It is idle all the way out into the bay and so many kayakers that brings a lot of traffic on your way out, but we didn’t mind because everyone is friendly. Three Sisters Spring is basically outside the back door. Kayaks are available or just jump off the back dock into the canal like the locals do. :) several restaurants available via boat. The boat trailer parking was a little sketchy as there is an empty lot next door but it is a different owner that was rightfully blocking anyone using his space. Once we put the boat in, we didn’t get the trailer back out so no big deal (it was blocked in for most of the weekend but open on our departure day). We were a little hesitant about the quiet time at 9, but it wasn’t an issue. I have already recommended this place to friends and we will be back.
Thanks for the nice review, let us know what we need to do to earn a 5 star rating next time :<) ...Thanks for the recommendation to your friends, let us know when you plan to return....Pete
Quiet and relaxing
Unfortunate smoker next door made enjoying the patios very difficult. With the state of the country very little to do but property was nice.
To be clear, we do not allow smoking in any of our units. we do ask our guests who smoke to smoke outside. we also have a permanent resident who looks after the property/kayaks that will smoke outside. the nice thing about these units is we have two balconies....an upstairs and downstairs balconies to allow you to enjoy the outside and get away from an occasional smoker visiting another unit....Pete
Apartment on the River!
This was our first stay at Driftwood Apartments but will definitely be back. Three Sister Springs is so close you could swim there without a kayak, thankfully they are provided. The apartment was clean with linens, towels and all the stuff needed in the kitchen just like at home. There is a small strip of shops not far with a Winn Dixie and Dollar Tree for all your supplies. Check out the Chinese takeaway Chop Stix! This apartment is all about location, it couldn’t have been more convenient! Being right on the canal was a great way to wake up each morning, take your coffee out to the dock and really get away from it all. We had a great week at Crystal River and will definitely be returning.
The City of Crystal River is built around Kings Bay, a manatee
sanctuary popular for snorkling or scuba diving in the winter when
manatees are in abundance. Summer offers a warm area for all types of
water sports including snorkeling, Scuba and great fishing with the
constant cool waters from the springs to keep
you comfortable. Easy access to the Gulf of Mexico for year round
fishing and when in season, scalloping. Fast becoming an area known
for ecotourism with a large number of nature trails, parks and a
canoe trail. For the Golfing enthusiasts we have 9 courses enough to
keep you busy all week. Lots of shopping for the bargain hunters.
Close enough for day trips to Orlando and Tampa for all the major
About Pete Vega
Pete Vega Manatee Property Mgmt, Our new family lives just outside of Orlando which is approximately 1.5 hours from Crystal River. We are all Florida natives; Pete grew up in Inverness which is the town next to our vacation condos and why we chose Crystal River. We like the laid back sleepy little town feel and fell in love with the areas springs, specifically Three Sisters. What started as a weekend get a way has turned into a wonderful place we are happy to share.
Pete Vega purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Pete Vega chose Springs at Kings Bay
We chose Crystal River because I grew up close to the springs and remember swimming in them as a kid. I enjoyed frequent field trips and summer camps to see the manatees and swim in the springs. My first scuba trip was in King Springs, around the corner from our place. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we have....
What makes this Condo unique
Although the City officials do not want visitors for less than 90 nights and has outlawed vacation rentals, our property is Grandfathered in. Crystal River is a quiet little town with plenty to offer. The springs are beautiful and less than a 2 minute paddle from our dock. On any given morning you can see manatees and dolphin swim by our dock, boat or paddle to waterfront restaurants and enjoy the nature preserve in Kings Bay. A 7 mile scenic boat ride takes you to the Gulf of Mexico where there is fantastic fishing, nature viewing and in the summer, scallop harvesting. You will enjoy near by Homosassa Wildlife Park and Indian burial grounds which leave a lot to explore. Golf courses, bike/hiking trails close will allow for an active vacation if desired.
