Whimsical room close to Pismo Beach
My daughter and I loved this whimsical room and outdoor patio garden. This place is very comfortable, easy to find, and close to Pismo Beach. The decor and the itinerant cat made this place memorable. When we arrived, the cat greeted us in the garden. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon sitting out on the patio petting the cat before we took the five minute drive to Pismo Beach.
Small, quint, and ideal for a romantic getaway
The couple that runs this cottage are very accommodating and and want to please without getting in the way. If you stay you’ll discover the cat that lives on tbe property, it is friendly and adds to the overall charm. No kitchen facilities but they do have a coffee pot, a real plus for us. Absolutely will stay here again
Wonderfully colorful and vibrant
Interesting, vibrant, colorful, lively, and restful. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a microwave oven, a small refrigerator, and coffee maker. But if you plan to do any "cooking", be sure to bring plates, bowls, and utensils. It is very close to the Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove. Warm greeting posted on the sign on the gate is an added touch showing the warmth and hospitality of this wonderful place.
Cozy, happy little casita!
I arrived after driving 12 long hours. It was late, dark and I was dead tired but I was greeted warmly by the resident kitty. .what a treat! He is so friendly and sweet! I settled in quickly and went straight to sleep. . .that bed sure is something else! So comfortable and the sheets were soft as silk. I have never slept so well! Waking up to the bright and sunny patio was so lovely. I got an early start and headed out for morning walkies at Avila Beach with my pup, Loulou We explored the area then returned to our magical little oasis to enjoy the afternoon on the patio. As the sun set, I made up a lovely cheese platter and poured a glass of sparkling wine and enjoyed the fire pit and the beautiful evening. There is a great little shop in Spyglass Center called DePalo and Sons - its a great option if you want to just heat up some really good, freshly prepared food in the microwave and enjoy it on the patio. The Wilsons have created a very dog friendly, welcoming and magical space and I look forward to returning.
Magic And Monarchs!
a visit to the Monarch Butterfly Grove has been on my bucket list and this was the year to do it. i was beyond amazed to find this darling, bite-sized rental and man can i say i got major bang for my buck! the mudslide happened to Montecito three days before our planned departure; not only was i devastated and heartbroken, but also understandably concerned with the closure of US101 and the surrounding back roads. Jennifer was beyond helpful and patient with travel advice and coordination of details, including the fact that my girlfriend and i were traveling with her three-year-old granddaughter. i can't say enough warm things about Jennifer, and her lovely husband, their adorable doggos, and the best bonus, Kitty! We traveled via the 5 fwy to the 166 and i'm here to tell y'all, we had the road to ourselves pretty much both ways, probably due to the decreased travel north, but it turned out to be a great way to go and we may just go this way again in the future.
did i say how adorable the rental itself is??? the room was plenty comfortable for the four of us: two adults, baby and Kitty, who we were thrilled to have sleep with us! the bed is *oh so comfortable*. we enjoyed the fire pit with a nip of good wine and took in the stars, and as gardeners ourselves, were thoroughly knocked out by the plants and decor of the garden - Jennifer has fabulous, eclectic taste that includes many Mexican artworks, and every inch of the place has something bright, sunny and magical to look at. you can't take it all in in two days. coffee in the morning was a HUGE plus and the shower was just perfect. if i could give this rental 10 stars, i would do it, and know we will be back. our only regret is that we wanted to place white flowers in the ocean for the souls taken by the Montecito mudslide and didn't coordinate our schedule accordingly. Monarchs & Magic in Oceano.
SUCH great guests! We loved having them. So fun and friendly and respectful of the property. Lisa was so fun to talk with and had great energy. And, omgosh...3 year old H was amazing! Would love to have them back. Jen and John
Whimsical, cozy, affordable comfort in a great location with dog!
Jen and John were very friendly and communicative hosts, providing an affordable, clean, modest, brightly colored room with full bath with it's own front garden sitting area and street parking. Quiet neighborhood, 10 min to beach, restaurants, shopping, 25 min to SLO. Their gardens are gorgeous, the room feels like Taos. It got pretty nippy for December, but the 2 space heaters worked well. Made Keurig coffee each morning with the nice basket of coffees and teas, very thoughtful. Drapes blocked out lights well. Memory foam bed was great for side sleeping, no pressure on the hip. My dog and I had a good stay. We would stay again. The bedroom and bathroom are much nicer in person than in the pics. Charming! Only 'wish list' items would be hooks for hanging some clothes (no closet, closet space holds the mini fridge, microwave, Keurig), and a Wi-Fi signal booster for sitting out front by the fire pit or using the patio furniture as an office.
We are located about 2 miles from downtown Pismo Beach, very popular for surfing, shopping, general beach town activities. Plenty of beach access and restaurants nearby. 1 mile from entrance to Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area where you can rent ATV's, dune buggies, go for a Hummer ride out on beautiful sand dunes on the beach.
