VRBO problems with website

  • 4 of 5

Had a problem with the VRBO website. Could not get info about check-in and info about the property. Seascair is a lovely rental and Peggy is great to work with.

Great Place

  • 4 of 5

The place is nice. They provide some items -- dish soap, etc. that's very much appreciated when you're doing a short stay. The location to the beach/water is wonderful. Nice quiet neighborhood. The photos make it seem more isolated than it is. There are neighbors on either side of you. Did have a problem with bugs -- ants, spiders, etc. The kitchen could use a big pot for boiling crabs or pasta. Description should note that you need to bring your own ice. I would definitely rent again.

Owner's Response: At Scotland Yards, we are thrilled that this guest would like to return. We work very hard to make all our guests' stays as enjoyable as possible. But, please, dear guests, help us help you. We cannot possibly know everything that is less than perfect unless you tell us - preferably when it's happening so that we can fix it instead of after the fact when can only help future guests. We appreciate all feedback and we would like to address the concerns this guest mentioned: 1. Accuracy of the privacy/remoteness of the house. We're going to change the description to be more clear. This beach house has has a full acre of land, as opposed to most boardwalk beach houses that have 1/8 of an acre or less. But, it is does have neighbors - though to the north just a bit, there is a stretch of un-built beach which is pretty cool. 2. Ants and spiders. We did not find any sign of spiders in walking through the house. But, the little sugar ants can be a problem if a prior guest has left food out on the counter. We are a beach "in the country," folks. It's part of the charm, but animal life is all around. We try our best to keep the critters out of the house but we go light on the pesticides. Your help in keeping food put away would help us and future guests. 3. Ice. The refrigerator is less than a year old but, still, things can go wrong. We had no idea the ice machine was not working that week. Dear guests, we leave you the property managers' phone numbers. If a refrigerator has an ice maker that is not working, call us. We'll do our best to get it fix as soon as possible. Thank you for the opportunity to respond and to make things even better for your return stay.

This is a beautiful spot to get away and clear your head from the noise and hussle and bussle of everyday life. I loved walking the beach, and found the views amazing.

Just what we were looking for.

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a place to stay near our home in Maryland where we had not visited before, as we celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary. The property was everything as described...on the beach...very clean...all the things were there that we needed...nice not to bring sheets and towels...all the basics were available for use. Would definitely rent again!
