Our vacation by the Finger Lakes
Lovely home! Back patio for relaxing outdoors is covered. The kitchen is very well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Our dog loved the fenced in backyard. About 20 min. to Letchworth State Park.
We were visiting friends and haven't been back to NY in over 10 years. This house felt like home as soon as I walked in. So cozy! I hesitate when I see pet friendly BUT nope - not a pet hair in sight! The nice surprise for this house was the backyard - great space for the kids to play and for eating outside. Loved the decor in and out too! Thanks for a great stay!
The house is gorgeous and clean. Missing a few amenities such as coffee filters, bath towels and working batteries for the remote. Otherwise, it was a great place to relax.
The house was perfect for our family. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The back yard was great for gathering. However the road was full of potholes. I wouldn't take a regular car there. We would definitely rent again.
The house is very cute. The kitchen is well stocked with most equipment you would need. Nice that linens and towels are included. Have to walk past approx10 homes to get down to water and park. Easy location to get to 20A and neighboring lakes.
The house and fenced yard was perfect for our family (dogs included). We brought our boat. The boat launch is a few miles down the lake and the dock to keep it at was just a short walk down the street from the house. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay! Overall we had a great week enjoying the lake and a comfortable stay.
This house is amazing, from the rustic charm to the location, it's a fantastic getaway. Plenty of cookware, well sized, gorgeous backyard, and cozy setup. If I had to name any cons they are on the very mild list, such as both bathrooms being on the 1st floor, none on 2nd, and the lighting left a few spots darker, and that one neighbor has a lot of eye sores. These are so minor in comparison to the charm and enjoyment of the property, 10/10 would rent again.
...but there were three issues, two that I cared about. A BEAUTIFUL home but no hot water, no park pass, and a neighbor who decided to work on his outboard motor at 9:00 at night. The literature I received told me how the neighbors liked their quiet neighborhood; that might have been true for all the neighbors but one. That said, the home was really nice.

Cozy Lake House
We had a lovely stay at this cozy, family friendly lake house. Our stay was out of season so we were not able to use the dock and boats. The house is spacious and comfortable and has lots of games for the kids. The lake is an only a few minutes walk in a private neighborhood.
The rental agreement process was the strangest I have ever encountered from a VRBO listing. They asked me to sign an additional form outside of VRBO, provide the names of everyone staying with me (my wife and kids), and I had to send a copy of my drivers license. There were multiple communication problems receiving and sending the information they wanted. In the end everything sorted out though.
Lastly, the cleaning and maintenance folks were very friendly and accommodating as we packed up to leave when we accidentally missed the checkout deadline of 10am.
All in all and nice place.
The home was nice and cozy, thankfully well-heated because it was quite chilly while we were there. We were in the vicinity to help a family member move, so the location worked well for our purposes, but I would not have been thrilled had that not been the case. Let's just say the neighborhood is not exactly inviting. The house was comfortable, but I would say the kitchen could have been better supplied with stuff you don't think to pack but don't necessarily want to buy when only staying a few days - things like paper goods and coffee filters, which I have almost always seen in other rental properties (that would be one reason I didn't think to pack them). The backyard looked like it would have been nice to hang out in, but the weather wasn't cooperative. We also did not take advantage of the parking pass to the nearby park with the boat dock.
Attractive house with nice deck and grounds in quiet neighborhood
The property was homey and well cared for, and the management company was most responsive to queries and requests. There were some nice restaurants in the area, and a visit to the Seneca Nation museum was a highlight of the trip. We enjoyed the fire pit at night, and the gated yard would be good for toddlers or four legged friends. There are a few steps to navigate on the first floor. It was nice to have a master powder room in addition to the very nice hall full bath, shower, and laundry room. A wish list would include a new King size bed and mattress in the roomy master bedroom - these are hard to come by in the listings and would set this house apart from so many others. A new double mattress in the upstairs bedroom would also be welcome. Also, please advise the cleaners not to use the strong floral scents all over the house to which some of us are allergic. Rather, they should use essential oils. BYO corkscrew. Overall, this house was a good value.

Cleanliness and musty smell were a problem
The flag outside “old glory” describes the property. The code we were given did not work. We had to call at midnight and a nice person helped is but it was a delay. The house is dog friendly, but I expected the cleaning standards to not be lower.
The floor in the bedroom downstairs was covered with dog hair. The carpets, the comforters and many throw blankets were dirty and smelly. The musty smell was in my clothes when I unpacked back home. Outdoor space was very comfortable and grill outside was great. The lake is 5 min stroll away. I wish there were bikes to ride around. We could not find a place to rent them. We are grateful to one of the neighbors that allowed us to use his kayaks. This was soooo kind. I loved solitude and quiet. “Three legged pig” bbq place was great!

Nice Property - Just had a problem with Electricity
The home is clean and well stocked. The beds are comfortable and the amenities are great. The road to the property is riddled with pot holes and is almost impossible to maneuver in a small sportscar. When we arrived a technician was leaving and explained if we lost electricty upstairs to just flip the breaker. Well, we lost electricity upstairs every couple of hours. Through the night I didn't notice because the windows were open and no ac was needed. But, during the day, it would not stay on. I called property managment and they acted as if it was expected that we just flip the breaker. I explained that when I pay to stay somewhere, electricity is included and I shouldn't have to drudge all the way down to the garage from upstairs to flip a breaker every couple of hours. They sent an electrician who changed the breaker and then things were fine. But I had to insist! The lake park is beautififul and a quick 1/4 mile walk down the road.

Disappointing Conesus Lake house vacation
First, the positives: the check-in process was very easy. The fenced-in back yard, decks, outdoor seating, and fire pit were great for our family and dog. The kitchen appliances were modern & functional, and the kitchen was well equipped. The house was nicely decorated, and the gas fireplace was appreciated, since the temperatures were quite chilly. Now, for the negatives: the neighborhood was quite run down. The community park (about a 5-min walk) was also run down, with very poor/unsafe playground equipment. The floors and rugs in the house were not clean when we arrived. The 40 watt bulbs throughout the house provided inadequate lighting. Of greatest concern was the lack of heat in the main living areas, as the valve on the furnace broke. The managing agency was contacted, and the owner came to assess the problem. He subsequently purchased fuel for the pellet stove so that we could heat the kitchen, dining room, living room, and full bath. Filling and monitoring the pellet stove was not a chore we expected to undertake while on vacation.
This house was very comfortable and roomy. It was in a quiet, residential neighborhood. The back yard was fenced in, which was perfect for our dog. It was only a short walk to the lake. We would highly recommend it to anyone.
Renting the property was smooth and easy in the office at Finger Lakes Propeties was more than willing to help when due to the fire I had lost all the information on the rental. The house was lovely, clean especially considering they allow pets, very well stocked and very homey. The yard was beautiful and our dogs certainly did enjoy the fenced area. The only negative was that the main deck had two levels and it was very difficult to see where the step was because it’s all painted the same color. Of course I managed to fall off the step. We all could see being there and a nice snowy night with the fireplace is a blazing.
