    The property manager was waiting for us when we arrived and she was very helpful. The home was clean and organized. Her beautiful garden was just as described. The kitchen is well stocked, as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. We had everything we needed . I especially appreciated the detailed list of places to visit and eat.

    Very comfortable stay, great beds with comfy duvets. Manager (Helga) was very helpful. Beautiful garden to relax in. The casa is a very close walking distance to centro but far enough away so it was quiet. Would stay there again.

    Ranks as one the most comfortable and attractive vacation rentals we have stayed at!

    Casa Azul was such a lovely place to stay for our month in San Cristóbal. The decor, the comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture, the well equipped kitchen, the lovely oasis of a garden (great for yoga!), the cosy fires in the wood stove, the proximity to both the local markets and the downtown, and the prompt attention from Helga to any questions or concerns, all made for an easy and stress-free vacation. (We recommend the nearby El Punto Italian Restaurant on Calle Comitan beside the Iglesia del Cerillo for its pizzas, delicious salads, and ambience - it was our go-to place for dinner - or take-out - after a day of sightseeing!)

    Magical month stay in San Cristobal..

    I absolutely adore Susan’s house. I stayed there for a month and I am so happy I did. The richness and history of all many cultures converging in San Cristobal, the beautiful mountains, landscape make it a must see. The locals are incredibly friendly, welcoming and kind. The gardens are the highlight, the kitchen- great for those who love to cook in, private spaces and close proximity to areas of interest and walking in and around town make it perfect in every way. The house staff is super kind and helpful as well. Don’t miss staying here.

    A darling house in a convenient and quiet neighborhood. A kitchen equipped with high-end utensils, quality beds, bedding, towels, simply everything. A beautiful garden visible from every room.     Brilliant stay at Casa Azul

    Everything about Casa Azul is wonderful. The house is lovely, the garden is a joy and the location is ideal. Susan (the owner) and Helga (the property manager) are very thoughtful and all their communications are clear and helpful. We felt at home immediately. The beds and furniture are very comfortable and everything we needed was at hand. The house is secure, clean and quiet. From the house to the center of town is a short walk. Each day, upon returning from various activities in and around San Cristobal we found ourselves delighted to return home.

    Beautiful, comfortable home - an oasis

    The home has everything you need from filtered water to wood to kitchen supplies. We loved the house and found it a perfect set up for two friends since bedrooms and bathrooms were on separate floors. Beds were very comfortable and home furnished comfortably. The garden an oasis and location great. Because it’s off beaten path the only noise was a delightful rooster. We felt safe but worth noting it is dark and quiet the last two/three blocks walking from town so walking alone after 10 pm may make some people feel uncomfortable. We were always in a pair and felt safe

    Exceeded expectations.

    The photos do not show how beautiful the entry and garden are. We had everything we needed. We cooked a little, mostly ate out. the neighborhood is easy to navigate. Peaceful. The apartment/home is well appointed and very confortable. Coming into the garden in the afternoons was a wonderful place to relax between morning and evening adventures. I will stay here again in a heartbeat. Communication from the owner, Susan, and the San Cris proerty manager, Helga, was clear and timely.

    Delightful Space

    This home is far prettier than the pictures suggest. It is a very relaxing space and it took 3 days for me to get the family to leave the house and explore. The kids really enjoyed the attic room that is not advertised. It was a pleasant surprise. There is also excellent, stable wifi that is suitable for video conferencing or gaming and 2 dedicated work tables with lovely views. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and we opted to eat in most days. The wood fire stove was really nice to enjoy with a book and beverage. Most important, the support team Susan has in place is fantastic and they came to my rescue when I left a bag behind in the house. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

    Best ever!

    We were fortunate to spend nine days in Casa Azure. It was the last of our six week time in Chiapas. What a perfect place to end our stay. Even though the street outside was quiet, closing the door and walking up the stairs to see the beautiful garden in all it’s glory and feel the total quiet and peace was truly amazing. We felt that Sue had us in mind when she created this space. To say we felt at home is an understatement. The bed, the kitchen, the living space but most of all the garden. Because our home is in Canada, being able to enjoy birds, flowers and butterflies was a treat The majority of our time was spent outside. We enjoyed not having a tv and as a result had early to bed with long sleeps and awake with the birds. We felt totally at home without the need to go anywhere. It a very sweet neighborhood and easily accessible for more activities if you want.

    Great stay. Great town

    My wife and I spent 2 weeks at this VRBO on August. The place was very nice and the location was great. San Cristobal is always a walking town, but this location was especially nice because it was a little farther way from the main hub-bub. That was nice. There was one small inconvenience when we arrived. Helga, who is apparently the main project manager was out of town...she let us know this before we arrived so this did not come as a surprised...left the initial introduction to her assistant. Unfortunately this assistant spoke very little english so it made it a little difficult in certain respects for a poor spanish speaker like myself. However, when we did have a problem (shower water was spraying too much) I sent an email to Helga and Susan (the owner) and they fixed it within 24 hours. Their responsiveness was GREAT. Other than the small bumpy beginning (mentioned above), my wife and I thought the casita was perfect for our stay. And San Cristobal is a place that we will definitely go back to.

    LOVED EVERY MINUTE IN THIS HOUSE!

    As others said before me, this house is even better than the pictures show. The beauty of the garden, is what hooked me. I know that perhaps depending on time of year, the garden might look different. Upon entering the house, at street level, you walk up a small flight of stairs. There are large windows & doors going out to the garden. From all over the house, you could see the garden. As well, the bedroom had French doors, leading out to the garden. The garden was fabulous! I started each day, by making my matcha latte (with the electric kettle provided ) & I would go out to the garden to drink it. The house is on a very low traffic street. Plenty of cafes, restaurants, sites within walking distance. There is a rooster nearby, & he makes noise, whenever he feels like it! We didn’t mind this! I walk with a cane & it felt great to walk around for me. Taxis are plentiful & there is a flat fee , of approximately $2, to go anywhere in San Cristobal. We loved this! Helga, took very good care of us. When we needed anything, she was really responsive! All of the plugs in this house are US type plugs, so I did not need the adapter plug I brought. We stayed here 2 weeks & will be back! There was plenty of drinking water provided, a wood stove, with plenty of wood provided. There is a full kitchen, pots, pans, utensils & everything you would need to cook. We did not cook & ended up eating all our meals out! We felt very safe at all times & people were so kind, helpful & friendly! Such a great experience. Susan was very responsive to all my questions prior to our trip. Then Susan created a WhatsApp connection between myself, Susan & Helga! I had as much help & response, as I wanted, at all times. I feel so grateful to have found this amazing house! Thank you Susan & Helga! We hope to be back next July.

    Fantastic home in San Cristobal

    Casa Azul is a gem and a real home away from home. Many AirBnB or VRBO lodgings turn out to be less than advertised, but this is definitely not one of them. The house is clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to use (we cooked most of the week we were there) and the house was spacious for our party of three adults. The garden is also lovely, though when we were there in January it was a bit chilly to sit outside much of the time. (The wood stove in the living room is a necessary and comforting feature.) The washer and dryer are extremely helpful too, and the check in and was seamless. Helga (a friend of the owner, Susan) made herself available to answer questions and was very thoughtful. The location is perfect too, in an old, quiet neighborhood just ten minutes walk north of the center, near the market and away from the tourist hubbub. We walked around at all hours and felt completely safe and secure. The only minor criticism is that the lighting in the living room is quite dim, fine for sitting but a bit too dark for reading (bring a reading light). But that’s a small point. Casa Azul is a real find and we can’t recommend it enough. Thank you, Susan and Helga!

    Perfect home away from home.

    My husband and I are very pleased we stayed in Casa Azul in San Cristobal de las Casas for 2 months. Everything is perfect about this house, the location, the architectural details, the layout, the light, the decor, the plenty of lightning, the beautiful and quite garden, the kitchen well stocked with gadgets and the service the employees provided. It's a house well thought and one of the best homes we have ever stayed in. Thanks so much to Susan the owner, Helga the manager, Clara the housemaid and Martin and Marcelino the gardeners who kept the house spotless and everything working smoothly. If we return to San Cristobal de las Casas we will stay here in a heart beat!

    Beautiful Peaceful House and Garden

    The house is beautifully decorated with Mexican arts and crafts, full of color and very welcoming. Everything a traveler could possibly need is there in the house - a comfortable relaxing living room, large table in the dining room and a kitchen fully equipped for any kind of cooking or baking. Up three stairs from the kitchen and dining room is a bathroom and large bedroom with a queen bed and door leading to the garden. And up another flight of stairs are second and third bedrooms (one with a queen and the other with two single beds) and a second bathroom. The dining room walls are all windows with beautiful views of the garden, which is full of flowers and hummingbirds. Once a week a gardener comes to tend the plants and lawn, and a cleaning person also comes to take care of the house. There is a separate laundry room with washer and dryer. And if you're there in the cooler months, you can make fires in the wood stove in the living room. Cut wood was always available in the house and the fires heated the whole living and dining room area. The house is located in a residential neighborhood two blocks from a church and plaza, four blocks from the crafts market, and six blocks from the main walking street full of shops and restaurants. There are also convenience stores and restaurants within a couple blocks of the house as well as the gigantic central outdoor food market. We had a wonderful stay there and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else on our next trip to San Cristobal.

    A lovely house and garden in a very good location.

    There was a need for some maintenance i. e the shower was good but needed a longer curtain as the whole room got wet. I was not over impressed with some of the cleaning but this may have been because it was Christmas. And there is a cockerel next door if you are a light sleeper. The garden is sunny and well maintained with some friendly cats. Kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms were large and beds were comfortable.
