Charming! Comfortable! Relaxing! Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We have nothing but good things to say about our family mini-vacation. It really hit the spot! The cabin, it's surroundings along with viewing daily wild life brought numerous smiles and happiness not only to myself but to my entire family as well. We were also visited by a friendly neighborhood cat, aka "Kitty" upon our arrival and everyday following our stay. She'd lay on the porch and often sit on a small table and look in the window as if to ask if she could come in. She actually scared me one evening as I was not expecting to see her in the window. She had a sweet personality and wanted to be loved.

We have a great appreciation for the outdoors and beautiful scenery and all it provides, but actually seeing wild life up close and personal made it that much more exciting. The deer and elk are not easily startled which makes for lots of Kodak moments. I'd been looking for a place in the mountains for quite sometime for a quick get-away and I found it. It exceeded our expectations. My family and I will be returning again and again, and possibly making this wonderful cabin our holiday get-away. It's a very nice "homey and comfortable" cabin. It's been well taken care of and very nice inside.

The homeowner Brad and his wife were very prompt in responding to my questions and were very helpful and pleasant to work with. This was our first time using Home Away and would not hesitate to make arrangements again. Having been very familiar with Payson, AZ it was very easy for us to get around. Having never been to Pine or Strawberry was something to look forward to. The location of the cabin was easy to find and not far from Payson to make daily trips to the grocery store for food items rather than buying items in Strawberry at the small grocery store with limited brands, etc. We preferred to shop daily as we chose not to bring an ice chest filled with food from home (our drive was only an hour and half or less pending on the traffic), and end up with a lot of food to bring back that wouldn't get eaten and/or tossed in the trash). We made simple meals and played lots of games, read outside on the porch and watched movies in the evening and relaxed.

When I shared pictures of our stay with our friends and family, they immediately asked me to share information and details with them as they'd like to stay for a week or so. Thank you Brad and Joey for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. We treated it as if it were ours.

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Pleasantly surprised by the beauty, decor, and peaceful area of this cabin. Having deer and elk pass through on the property was a definite plus, a first for my grand children to see wildlife. The cabin was well equipped with everything that you need for cooking and Brad was wonderful in keeping the lines of communication open. Would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding !! Comfortable clean and charming

  • 5 of 5

We had a family get together here and Loved it! It was very cozy and relaxing. The elk came by once and deer everyday, all through out the day. The trees are beautiful. Morning sun comes through the great room windows and the stars can be seen at night. The kitchen has EVERYTHING needed to make meals or do some baking as well as BBQ. Little extras are found through out the home which makes it nice should you forget something or run out. Very close to Payson for shopping yet far enough to get away from city life. Returning to the "BIG CITY" was tough. A week was barely enough to take it all in if anyone is wanting to relax and get away from it all. It certainly isn't L.A. or Phoenix , this cabin will remain on our list for a vacation spot. Thank you for your home and ease of checking in and out.

Wonderful vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this home and the area. The home was a perfect place to return to after a day of hiking or sightseeing. Everything about the home is nicely done and it was very roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting at the dining room table and frequently saw wildlife including hummingbirds, deer and elk. This was our first trip to the Mogollon Rim and we were glad we came to explore the trails and for sightseeing in the area. Perfect hiking weather.

Brad was a great host and we appreciated his support and kindness. Would highly recommend this home to anyone vacationing in this area.
