ECO-Beach House in the Trees

Bedrooms 1
Space 600 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Bird Watchers Paradise featured on National TV!

Nestled in a live oak, this one bedroom/one bath home is perfect for a "couples getaway" on a quiet wooded lot only 2 blocks from the beach. 15' in the air and surrounded by windows, you'll see birds and a bobcat, if you are lucky, from the balcony! We provide 2 bikes so you can enjoy a morning ride to Bay St Louis for breakfast or a sunset pedal on the many paths provided.!!!! The beach is protected by barrier islands and fed by the Jordan River so it is nutrient rich (great for fishing and birding) and much more like a bay. Our garden is a work in progress with native longleaf pines, coastal prairie field, and my "Cocktail Garden". In this raised bed you will find fresh mint and rosemary to create a refreshing afternoon drink.....mixed with grapefruit and lime (and your preferred libation) you'll be relaxing in the summer breeze in no time! Please note this an ADULT ONLY (2 adults max) and absolutely NO PETS due to severe allergies and our effort to maintain the natural wildlife which you rarely see in an urban environment, but we capture on our WILDLIFE CAMS (as well as your pets). Not adhering to these rules result in an automatic loss of deposit as well as a vacation from premise. Please confirm these when booking! It will save us a lot of time :). Check IN 4pm - Check OUT NOON. We are happy to accommodate earlier/later if we can, but you will need prior approval.

Additional linens and towels (other than those provided in bathroom) will accrue an additional cost of $15/sheet set and $5/towel that will be taken out of deposit.

Why Pye Parson chose Mississippi

My dream was to live on the Gulf Coast with a Live Oak, but I couldn't stand the traffic and long waits at restaurants at most beach destinations on the Gulf. I found a gem in Waveland that allows me to be on the water and to enjoy nature at the same time. I know the owners of the shops and restaurants, and they know me. No waiting in lines, like I imagine "old florida" use to be where your "chef" may have been the one who caught the fish you are eating.

What makes this cottage unique

Modern home with walking and bike trails. Two bikes provided. Native long leaf Pines, wild flowers, and a window to the local wildlife. Breakfast Diner and local convenience store 1 block away. More shopping and dining in Bay St Louis 3 miles away. Fresh herbs in the garden for use.

Beautiful property close to the beach!

  • 5 of 5

You need to visit this place, this city and this area. What a wonderful experience. We loved it! The bikes were great for going up and down the boardwalk. Short walk to the beach. The house itself is fabulous. Tiny house living at its best! You'll be glad you went as soon as you get there. Don't miss out on a great getaway...enjoy!

Quiet week at the beach

  • 5 of 5

The beach house is the perfect quiet space for a couple -- close to everything you might need, but you really feel away from it all while you're up in the trees. Top to bottom, the house and its furnishings are delightfully and thoughtfully designed. We loved our stay and would definitely like to return.

The house was very modern and in a cozy quiet location

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I honeymooned here and it was a perfect size for the 2 of us. I loved the shower and the bed was very comfy. My only complaint would be that there was no lighting beneath the house (that we could find anyway). We love being outdoors and had to rig up a light to enjoy the cozy sitting area in the fresh night air. It was an easy fix and other than that we had an amazing time. We will definitely consider coming back for future vacations.

Owner's Response: We loved having you! Unfortunately, we can't have lighting underneath as FEMA regulations prohibit electricity at that elevation. We will get lanterns!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the beach house in the trees it was very quite and relaxing. We were able to read a book, something we haven't had time to do, probably because of the TV (LOL). We were close enough to resturants, but far enough for peace and quite.

Exceeded our expectations

  • 5 of 5

We watched the construction of the house on Tiny House Nation and knew we had to see it. When we learned it was for rent, OMG! What an experience. No TV, rustling of the leaves, a cool breeze... and the golf coast is gorgeous. The local cafe's and Tiki Bars are awesome, the locals are great. If you need a mental health day, this is the place.

Perfect romantic retreat or singles get away

  • 5 of 5

This property is well equipped and maintained. The short walk to the Waveland Pier and the close proximity to the charms of Bay St. Louis made my weekend at the Beach House in the Trees perfect. I loved the style of furnishings and the attention to details. The downstairs outdoor area is a lovely, quiet spot to relax or entertain. I will definitely stay again.
