Governors Green is conveniently located within three miles to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. You’ll love colonial lodging, relax and enjoy the comforts of your home away from home. Governors Green offers two and three story villas that overlook beautiful landscapes that meander over 65 acres of well-manicured lawns and pristine lakes that will offer you the perfect setting to relax and enjoy your vacation. The heart of resort is focused on a 13,000 square foot activities center featuring indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness center, tennis courts, multi-sports courts, a snack bar for guest’s enjoyment and also The Giving Tree spa.
If you are looking for a great place to relax after a long day of sight-seeing this is just right for you. Featuring two private bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room and dining room, you’ll find it hard to stay in a hotel again! Your family will love the convenience of making a home cooked meal instead of take-out night after night with a fully stocked kitchen where you will discover all utensils and cook ware are provided for you.

Please contact me for availability as I do not update the calendar daily. Availability does change by the minute, making it hard to keep updated.

Policies:
I do require two night minimum to make a reservation. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking the reservation, if more than 45 days out. The remaining balance will be due 45 days prior to arrival. If you make a reservation less than 45 days prior to check in then I do require full payment at the time of confirming the reservation. I also require a completed rental agreement on file with all reservations. I cannot hold any reservations without a deposit, unless arrangements are made with owner. I do accept Visa, Master Card and Discover to make a reservation and I will mail you a receipt to sign and return to me.

Cancellation Policy:
Currently at this time all rentals are final and no refunds will be issued. We do offer Travel Insurance if you would like to protect your vacation for unexpected emergencies. Please ask for information on CSA Travel Insurance. Should any resort amenities be unavailable or closed due to weather during renters vacation,

Rates will vary depending on season, weekend/holidays, number of nights requested and time of booking. I do strongly suggest that you make your reservation while the availability is there!

Talking to owner he was prompt and very kind. For that, I’d stay again. The property management company (wyndham) was awful though. Had to continuously get new keys which was a pain in the butt. Dishwasher and fridge leaked. Outdated furniture but overall it was the only thing we could find and again the owner was super nice.

Great place to stay near Busch Gardens

We loved this property. Great for the kids- big pool and fun activities. We didn't enjoy the sales pitch for vacation property but still a great experience overall.

We've stayed at three different places in Williamsburg over the past 5 years (Kings Creek, Westgate and now Governors Green). Definitely like Governors Green the best. There was plenty to do at the resort, the staff was very friendly, and they didn't have their hand out anytime you wanted to do additional activities. The facilities were large enough for the crowds, we were there in season but the pool wasn't crowded, the mini golf never had a line, etc. The rooms were great. There is a small ant problem, but facilities was responsive addressing as best they could. We would definitely go back there again. The individual who is renting this space doesn't own a specific unit, I'm pretty sure it is a timeshare. He is very good to work with and I have no complaints and would use him again.

Please be aware that this is actually a timeshare and you may not stay at the location listed but one of several resorts. They will ask you on check in to sit through their sales pitch. I declined and there was no issue. We actually stayed at Powhatan and the place was large but the bathrooms small and dated. As a place to sleep for a family of 4, it was just fine.

Great value - Wrong listing

In short, this listing isn't anything like right, but for the price, we loved what we got. As has been noted in another review, the listing here is entirely wrong (as of June 2018). When the confirmation came through, it was for the Wyndham Kingsgate and NOT Governors Green. The one major drawback to that is that the place is a bit smaller than shown in the pictures, and the second bedroom only has one king bed and not the two beds shown. We ended up having to buy an airbed to fit our family of 6 to keep teenagers from killing each other. There's just no way it could sleep the 8 in the listing. All of that said, if the listing was right I'd happily give it 5 stars. The place itself was great and just around the corner from Governors Green. It has 3 pools (with one adults-only and one indoors), two (free) arcades, a put-put course, a casual burger joint restaurant, and a very friendly staff. The unit had a very functional kitchen, 3 TVs, a nice balcony, and a washer and dryer. It's very close to all of the Williamsburg to-do's. It's a resort condo, so don't expect a fully stocked house, but it was perfect for our stay. In short, it was a fantastic family vacation with lots to do for our kids ranging from 5 to 15, and even the teenagers enjoyed themselves.

Not as Advertised- Totally Different Resort

We booked the Governor's Green, as the listing says. You'll receive a confirmation for Kingsgate. I was going to raise hell when I checked in but the staff informed me that Kingsgate has more amenities, so I went with it. Lobby was mobbed- not sure if the "concierge" staff receive commissions but ours (there are several) was visibly disappointed when we told him we brought food and intended to utilize the kitchen, had already spent the day exploring the historic sites, had already purchased our tickets for Busch Gardens, and would he please just give us our parking pass because we'd really like a shower. The kitchen was adequate but not what I was expecting, having rented several times on VRBO before but never from Wyndham. There were no cooking supplies like you'd normally expect in a rental- oil, vinegar- sugar. There were 4 tablespoon packets of sugar provided next to the coffeemaker. I'm sure I could have asked for assistance but it didn't seem worth it. Rooms were clean, sheets were not soft. I was expecting 2 beds in one of the rooms and instead there was a queen, so the kids had to share. Not the end of the world, but not what we were expecting. Conveniently located to all kinds of tourist restaurants and in between the historic area and Busch Gardens. The sound-proofing was OK. Could definitely hear our neighbors upstairs and out in the hallway. Overall, it was adequate- I'm not sure you'll find much better in the area, but I will not go out of my way to stay here again.
