About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Comfortable and quaint

  • 4 of 5

The home is very quaint and comfortable. It is located on a quiet street in the Gardner Mountain Area. Right down the road is an entrance to a natural wildlife area, with trails that lead to Fallen Leaf Lake (if you go far enough). Our daughter lives in the area, so the house was extremely convenient for our visits. It turned very cold when we were visiting in middle of September and the heating system worked wonderfully. The house is roomy for 4 people and the beds are nice. The night before the trash goes out, there was a huge mother bear and cub next to the kitchen window trying to get into the trash. Thank heavens that there was a 'bear proof' garbage can. Two nights later, the bears came back.

Rental near daughter

  • 4 of 5

We rented this house so that we could be near our daughter. It is a well-worn rental, cozy, comfortable enough room for 4, 6 is pushing it. There are plenty of dishes and pots and pans, however (and usually) there are condiments, etc. for the renters to use. It is a pain to buy full bottles or jars of spices and use only a little then leave it. The only thing left for us was salt, salad oil and a little olive oil. Again, usually, the kitchen is stocked with tea bags, boullion, spices, salt, pepper, crackers, etc. We did enjoy the house since our granddaughter(3 years old) lives just a block away. We were able to visit everyday and have her spend the night. And if Vacasa would have us again, I would rent the house.... there just needs to be a bit of improvement on accomodations. Thank you

Vacasa house

  • 4 of 5

The house is comfy for the three of us. It is in a quiet community, but super close to all the attractions. Great place if you want to be close to the beach and Emerald bay.

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

This property was the perfect size for just 3 of us, Great back yard. Very open yet private. Great to just sit out back with a glass of wine and read.

I probably wouldn't recommend staying in the summer, though, as there is no A/C, no operable windows in the whole family room/kitchen area, and no ceiling fans.

Doesn't have a dishwasher but I just brought paper plates and bowls, so that wasn't that big of a deal.
