Perfect for our family of 4 trip!

This trip was well worth it. When we first arrived I was unsure bc it was super late & driving through unfamiliar hills. However after that first night I realized the beauty in the drive and it’s only a mile or 2 up the mountains! Just make your late night runs to get water, etc prior to going to the vacation home. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed for 10 nights so only downfall is no washer/dryer. We planned for that & made it work. We had our eight year old and four year old so we left the house (with everything we needed for the day) by 10-noon and returned every night about 10. There is a comfy futon that turns into bed! Property is scenic, nice night view of city lights at night & lots of sun in the morning, from bdrm window.

Very secluded

This was a very nice and quiet stay. Not much to do since the quarantine but you have to drive up and down the hill anyway if you wanted to go anywhere which took about 15 minutes each way. Was a bit confused about the lock on the door which held they key but ultimately figured it out lol. Altogether it was a great stay.

Ugh!

The design of the rooms was great. Great kitchen. But, no hand towels in the bathroom. There was a sign on the wall of the bathroom to place used toilet paper in the trash can and not in the toilet. Last morning there were ants being drawn to the toilet paper. Parking was never clarified and there was miscommunication.

Perfect

We couldn’t have been happier here. The place was absolutely five star hotel level clean. It was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Plus the 5 minute drive from the freeway up the mountain was fun and lead to the most incredible views of the city. Bruce was our property care taker and he was awesome at communicating all through text and email, giving us tons of privacy. But then he proved to be truly helpful when I left our passports behind(!) and he was able to find them for us and meet my sister on property to give them back. We are extremely grateful! This little getaway will definitely be our first choice the next time we are in town.

Fun place to stay - awesome views

The property was clean and was just like the pictures. This property is high above the city lights. I have verizon cell service and I only had 1 bar. My phone worked if you sat very still. May want to check with your provider. Road up to property was fun to drive with mountain turns.

Amazing!

One is the most nicest places to stay in LA. I enjoyed the beautiful scenario and the quiet neighborhood. The house was clean and bright and fresh. The management was so pleasant and sweet. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to be close to LA but away from all the bustle. 5 stars!

Perfect location for us!

We stayed at the Casa de la Vista for over a week, just returning home a few days ago. First the good: The location was perfect for us, my daughter and family live just down the hill and we had come to help with the arrival of grandchild #3. We could walk to their place which was great. The access to the Skyline trails was also fantastic. The casita was clean when we arrived, and exactly as billed. The not so good: I initially thought someone had spilled after shave when we arrived-the place smelled so strongly of it that we had to open all the windows and go on a hunt for the location of the smell. Turns out it was an air freshener that we removed from the building but the smell had so strongly permeated the casita it never really went away. I'm not even scent sensitive but trust me it was overpowering. The other issue was the bed. The mattress was super comfortable but the framing beneath it was broken creating a divot in the middle that you couldn't help but roll in to. When we notified the owners they were quick to offer to fix it, but by then my husband had found a fix by taking shelving out of the kitchen and bridging the gap. As we were leaving I did show the property manager the issue and I'm sure he will have it fixed for the next guest. To be fair the bed issue was probably not something he could have known about as the bed looked perfect when we arrived, it was only when we went to sleep on it that we discovered the problem. We would stay here again, the location and proximity to our daughter and family is perfect for us!

Out of the way bungalow

Sitting high on a canyon this quaint charmer has beautiful views and is close to many walking/hiking trails. No grass for a dog, but the dusty trails seemed to work for my little one. Glad i brought my own towels as the ones provided were a bit thin. On site manager was so kind and helpful. In spite of the heat, the many trees and gentle breezes help keep the interior comfortable Would stay here again when in the area

Cute but needs work

The place was very nice and the owners very polite. But the reason we rated it a 3 is because at least 3 times we didn't have hot water. We left and stayed at a hotel. Another time the water pipes busted. Also, the location was very inconvenient for us. It does not tell you the cottage is located at the top of Turnball Canyon which is a steep drive going up and it rakes awhile to get there. The scenery is fantastic since it is located up a high hill over looking the city. We were in the city because we were getting married and had a lot to do so driving back up and down was an inconvenience. Not only that but there was a fire on Turnball Canyon which we passed right by it on the drive up. I lived near there in 1989 and the entire hill burned including homes. We packed up and left the back way since they closed the entrance to the hill. We stayed at a hotel, again, with our dogs. It was scary. We were not going to take a chance that the entire hill could burn. Planes had to drop water on the hill because regurlar fire trucks could not put out the fire. Manager's Response: George and Irma, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay overall, but are sorry to hear certain aspects fell short. We understand the homeowner went above and beyond to assist with the issues you experienced, including allowing you to use another vacation rental's bathroom. Additionally, the fire was far from the home and didn't affect any of the nearby neighborhoods. As evident in other reviews, past guests have only had wonderful things to say about their stay and we are confident this home will continue to host satisfied guests! Best, the Evolve Team

High in the sky!

This rental was super cute. Mostly all remodeled and has everything you need. Full kitchen and appliances makes it a great place to cook. Comfy living area to watch a movie. Bed was super comfy as well. And the views! Amazing. It takes a little extra time to drive up the curvy roads to the property but it’s a beautiful drive with beautiful views day or night. We were so appreciative to be able to bring our little dogs with us. Bruce was very friendly and attentive. Thank you!.

Casita on the hills

Very cute, clean and spacious, away from the city, beautiful view, bring your own coffee if you like fresh brew, they do offer instant .. we slept very comfortable.. if anything a spare set of sheets to use on the futon/sofa couch is what I would ask for next time. Over it was great

Sweet Mountaintop Getaway

Perched above the hustle and bustle, we loved the location of this quaint little home. Took advantage of the hiking trails located just at the end of the driveway. Perfect for a couple like us, but might get tight if you have more than a couple of little ones along. Amazing views out every window. Good wifi. All in all, very comfortable and sweet. Only recommendation would be to bring your own towels.

Love this place!!!

This vacation rental is beautiful and peaceful. The view of the city from the bedroom was amazing I loved waking up to it every morning. We toured Los Angeles during the day and came back to our cozy rental at night. 100% would recommend to everyone and definitely coming back!
