We rented a room in the building and the plumbing wasn't working so we were placed in an apartment instead. Upon arrival, there was someone there trying to fix the AC/Heater and they were unable to (but were in our room for about 30 minutes before we could settle in- I think this should have been fixed prior to us arriving). The water heater was so LOUD that every single morning at 5am it woke us up and the noise lasted about 30-40 minutes, so on vacation we didn't get the opportunity to sleep in at all. The room got about 100+ degrees every single night (during the winter time), which was so uncomfortable that we decided to leave the back door cracked to let cool air in so that we could fall asleep. The first morning Rosa (the owner) came banging on our door at 6-7am screaming at us because the third floor was hot due to the thermostat being in our unit and we had our back door open to cool our room off (we didn't know the entire building was based on our rooms temperture, and this should have been explained to us). When she initially came banging on our door the first morning, I opened the door to see what she needed and she pushed her way through walking right into the room where my girlfriend was in her pajamas laying down (extremely inappropriate) without even asking which was uncalled for and rude and could have been handled calmly and professionally. The next night we attempted to turn on the air conditioner before bed to help cool the room off, and the following day Rosa emailed us telling us we couldn't use the air conditioner. The knobs in the shower are labeled incorrectly so we waited for the shower to get warm the first day for 20 minutes before we realized that they were incorrectly labeled. The apartment was on the second floor next to a salon, so it's pretty loud during the day- also, there is a door in the kitchen that actually connects straight to the salon with no lock or anything; meaning that anyone in the salon could at anytime have full access to our apartment at any time which didn't seem right or secure. There was a patio deck that came with the apartment but caused an inconvenience to have Rosa come into our room constantly to water her plants on the patio. After 2 days, Rosa sent us another email stating that she noticed we left the tv on and 1 light and that we weren't allowed to leave any lights or tv's on while we weren't there or she'd charge us. This experience was horrific, dealing with a rude owner and AWFUL room.
I was in a great area. It was a 3rd or 4th floor walk up (they say 4th but it was more like 3rd). The description was just as it said. If you are looking for ultra luxury -- not here. If you want a nice bathroom, comfortable big bed and large TV and internet --- This is the place! Nice towels, bathroom, sheets blankets (a selection). Near all the restaurants and metro.
Rosa was very nice, available and helpful.
Only negative is coffee maker did not work (or maybe it was me)--- but if that was the worst then this is Very Good!
Starbucks is 1/2 block away!
If you want a very clean, comfortable, quiet, private place to stay in the best location in Park Slope, then this is the place for you. We could walk everywhere from here and Rose was very welcoming and informative when we arrived. I would highly recommend this apartment for your visit to Brooklyn!
Rosa was kind and accommodating and we very much enjoyed our stay in her home. It was easy and comfortable, and had everything that we needed. And you can't beat the neighborhood. Great all around.
We loved staying at this apartment in Park Slopes, Brooklyn. There were a lot of great restaurants, bars and shops very close by. The neighborhood was very family friendly.
the apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. we felt like real new Yorkers staying here. there room is separate and has a private en-suite bathroom.
we would definitely recommend stay here and would love to book this property again when we stay in Brooklyn.
thank you Rosa and Lina.

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful room/bathroom. It was so quiet and very clean. The bedroom is in the back of the building overlooking all the wonderful courtyards. Very, very quiet. We have stayed in other brownstones in Brooklyn where the bedroom was on the street, and it was impossible to sleep. We have also been in brownstones on the bottom level where we have heard footsteps over our heads till 2:30 in the morning. None of that occurs in this room. There is a small refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker & hot water dispenser, so it is possible to have breakfast or a light lunch there. It is within walking distance to many great restaurants and shops. Lots of steps to climb, if that is an issue for you. We love Park Slope, and we will be back! Thank you Rosa & Lina!
