About Kim Schwartz

We're intrepid travelers from Northern New Jersey with a passion for the outdoors and a love of exploring. Even after traveling the world, we kept coming back to the Adirondacks to get our minds centered and souls re-energized. We love this area year round - from the challenging ski runs of Gore Mountain to taking all-day summer hikes with our dog Puck.

Kim Schwartz purchased this house in 2014

Why Kim Schwartz chose Gore Mountain

After taking vacations in the area for the past 10 years, we've finally decided to create our dream home in the Adirondacks. We most of all wanted a place that would allow a large group of people to come together and be comfortable under one roof, without giving up any of the comforts of home. That's why we've updated the place with a modern design, the latest technology, and tons of conveniences. We've fallen in love with the Gore Mountain region - we hope our home will help you fall for it too.

What makes this house unique

We think this place has exactly the right balance between "getting away from it all" and "being a part of the town." We're only 3 miles from Gore Mountain, but still tucked enough away that you truly feel like you're in the outdoors. We worked hard to put luxury features throughout without losing the allure of the Adirondacks. Casper beds, modern furniture, DirecTV, a 12 foot movie screen, and High Speed Internet are balanced by a huge firepit, wraparound deck, and the Straightbrook River just 50 feet from the front door. It's the modern equivalent of an Adirondack Camp.

Very nice experience!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The property was clean and full of amenities (e.g., fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, fire pit) that made staying here enjoyable. If we had any questions, the property owner was highly responsive. Something to be aware of, however, is that if you are planning to have young children stay in the bunk beds, the upper level bunk beds do not have any guard rails and the ground below the bunk beds is concrete. Overall, we loved our stay!

Pleasure Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Lake George in this wonderful house! There was plenty of space for the 8 of us and we really took advantage of all the amenities. The fire pit was a great hit as we lit it up two nights and made s’mores! (Graciously provided by the host.) This house has everything you need to make yourself feel like you’re at home, plus the beds were extra comfy! The only downfall I would point out is the house’s water temperature and pressure. We did not know of this issue the first night and half of us got extremely cold showers. However, the next days we made showering schedules so we’d all be able to have hot showers with decent water pressure. It was just a minor issue of an otherwise amazing house and did not disturb our stay! Definitely recommend!

A slice of paradise.....

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Kim for allowing us to host our wedding at your beautiful home. It rained the night before the wedding but the sun shone down on us for our special day and allowed us to take some lovely intimate pictures in the garden and from the balcony. The house was exactly as described and there was lots of space and privacy for our family of four. Thanks again.

Perfect place to spend our Adirondack vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Just got home today from a week long stay at Kim's home in the Adirondacks. We were a group of 12--4 adults and 8 teenagers--and this home was PERFECT for us! The house is beautiful and Kim's attention to detail was great! We were provided in depth information about the house and the area and we truly only needed to bring our personal items & food--everything else was there waiting for us! The property was very clean and well stocked and the pictures accurately show this terrific property! The downstairs bunk room and media room was perfect for the kids and they spent much time down there watching movies and playing video games. It was nice to have a separate space for the kids so the adults could relax in peace! :) There was plenty of seating for our group of 12 to enjoy meals together. We enjoyed having a glass of wine on the outside deck and spending evenings around the fire pit.

The house served as a great home base for us as we visited Lake George (about 40 min away), Bolton Landing, Lake Placid (about an hour and a half drive) and Whiteface Mountain (about 10 min further than Lake Placid). We enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Mohican on Lake George (Tuesday Night taco cruise), visited the Olympic venues in Lake Placid, took a gondola ride up Little Whiteface, and drove to the top of Whiteface Mountain. There was also shopping, mini golfing and time at the beach (Million Dollar Beach in Lake George). We even tried white water rafting--a first for almost all of us--which was great! I would definitely suggest trying it if you are in the area!

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone with a large group visiting the area. The house is clean, well stocked and furnished with high quality appliances, furniture, linens, etc. Kim was great to work with too! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Kim for helping us to have a fun vacation and create many memories! :)

Beautiful place to stay for vacation with my family

  • 5 of 5

This place was a perfect fit for my family of 10! It was clean and beautiful with plenty of space for us to all hang out. A lot of thought had gone into the details of our stay by the owner and it was easy to relax and enjoy our vacation. The location was great and we especially loved that there was a small waterfall about a five minutes walk down the road. We highly recommend this Adirondack Retreat!
