Amazing and Unique Property w/ Stunning Views!

We just had one of the most memorable weeks at El Chante in Tamarindo. The property was large enough that everyone in our group had their own space and was able to have their own unique experiences while also intimately connecting us with the main living space and large kitchen. Sometimes there were even monkeys hanging around and entertaining us in the trees! The outdoor bathrooms and showers were lovely and came with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, FYI, nice touch! It was a steep walk to the property but everyone in our group ranging from 4-75 years old was able to do it and get our blood flowing! Another option would be to rent a golf cart but we did not feel it was necessary for us. We felt very safe and loved that it was a quiet gated community. Diego, the concierge and property manager was available and responsive to me at what seemed like 7 days a week and all hours to answer questions, help with anything that came up and mostly assist with booking excursions, experiences, and transportation. He was able to edit and make bookings last minute or ahead of time for us! We hired our own chef and gave her one of the queen-room bungalows to stay in. She did a fabulous job the entire time and was even able to accommodate our many allergies and special requests. Arlette was a hard worker who was always the last person to leave the kitchen at night. Overall we were very sad to leave and will always think fondly of this trip. Don't wait, book it!

Words aren’t quite enough

We had waited three years to finally stay in El Chante. The wait was well worth it. El Chante is a rainforest oasis. We felt like we were in an Indians Jones movie. The wildlife joined us several times in our living area. The open air concept was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable and private. The outdoor showers surrounded by rainforest were so refreshing. The house keeping staff was so kind and welcoming. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this home. We all said how boring our homes are when we returned home!

Beautiful house

My group had an amazing time at the El chante property. The staff that served breakfast and kept our rooms clean were nice and helpful. Diego helped to book all of our excursions and answered questions throughout our stay. If you love nature and wild life, this is the place for you. Thanks for an amazing get away.

Good stay, but can't trust the company

It was a great stay in that the direct team (Diego, Joyce) were responsive and helpful (although you can't call them before you can only email/chat). The cleaners and cooking staff was tremendous. You CANNOT trust their recommendations without doing your own research. They are a company that owns 100+ properties in Tamardino. They introduced us to a golf cart company by email where the prices were way less than the prices we ended up being charged. We had other issues with that provider and got charged for damage that didn't exist and allegedly "lost" a golf cart that was coincidentally found after we complained to the house. I felt they should have taken ownership for introducing us to the golf cart company that scammed us and left me out thousands of dollars. They also introduced us to a place to go scuba diving a 30-minute drive away when there were several 5 minutes walking away. They are likely taking a cut from these places and not giving you genuine recommendations.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really fell in love with El Chante. Its concept feels like a small Eco-boutique hotel. The rooms and amenities are separate and spread over a fantastic property. Everything is surrounded by nature. When you enter the outdoor massage area you feel as if you’re in Indonesia. The kitchen and communal area overlook the ocean. I have never seen this. Believe me, it’s the best view you will ever experience. The house managers were excellent. They arranged everything from the beginning to the end of our vacation. Breakfast, dinner reservations, excursions, tennis lessons, fishing trips, babysitters, yoga classes and so much more. The staff of the house was also always at our service. We will definitely be back. Casa El Chante, thank you for this dream of a holiday.

Enchanting, romantic, the best interior, positive energy, peace, really close to the beach, spectacular ocean view and so on. Everyone has his/her own little “casita” with a beautiful room, bathroom and terrace. I loved the infinity pool and the huge garden. The amenities were perfect and the hosts were always very responsive and really helpful with the ‘what to do’s” and the ‘where to go’s”. I absolutely recommend Casa El Chante!!!

An amazing tropical garden, so much wildlife and an infinity lap pool. Beautiful Balinese art spread all over the property. It’s truly magical. Fruit trees with mangoes, bananas, breadfruit, citrus, guanabana, etc. You can make the freshest juices ever! The most amazing kitchen I have ever seen. Thank you to the handyman Alanito for being so helpful and thank you to the house manager Joyce for booking all our daytrips and surf lessons.

Unique House! Perfect for Groups!

We recently stayed at El Chante in Tamarindo for a week and had a lovely time. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 9 kids ages 10-17. The property was very unique in that we had a beautiful central gathering place but everyone also had his/her own private sleeping accommodations. The 5 larger suites were plenty big for couples and the smaller newer rooms were just right for teenage boys. We also easily fit 4 girls in one of the master suites with adjoining bunk room. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all open air and were very enjoyable for breakfasts and dinners. The TV room was very comfortable for watching college bowl games on TV. We used the decks off of the living room for both sunset viewing and private yoga in the home. We also enjoyed the pool and massage areas down below. Breakfasts were included in our stay which was great. We hired Chef Fabien to come prepare dinner for the group a few times. Daily cleaning and laundry service was a treat. We used Carlos Arias as our concierge for the stay and he was amazing! He charges a daily fee but it was well worth it. Carlos was with us for most of the trip and by the end of the trip we felt like he was family. From planning excursions to surf lessons with the kids, Carlos did it all! Arne, the house manager was also very helpful in answering our questions prior to the trip. The house location is great because it is high enough up the hill to get a great view but also walking distance to the beach. We rented golf carts to get around town which I highly recommend. There are a few things that our group noticed that future renters should be aware of. First, the home is perfectly well lit during the day but the bedrooms and common spaces are all a little dark at night. Additionally, the bathrooms really are outside and although they are beautiful, it takes a little getting used to. Also, the home is built on a hill so expect to do a lot of walking if you are in one of the further bedrooms. Finally, the town of Tamarindo can be loud. We happened to stay during a 3-4 day beach concert with the music going into the wee hours of the night. I am pretty sure that this concert coincided with New Year's holiday but you may want to double check before booking. We definitely recommend El Chante in Tamarindo!

Great 'family room' kitchen for everyone to hangout in. Pool and pool cabana were amazing fun. Be ready for a good leg workout with all of the steps and hill heading up from the beach or town. Heaven on earth!!

This house is the perfect combination of luxury and simplicity, it's tasteful and well decorated. It is a beautiful open home that allowed us to feel in contact with nature. I came with a group of friends (couples and one kid) and we really enjoyed the privacy of each bedroom with its own bungalow as well as having an amazing huge living area where we could share our meals and hang out together. The pool / terrace area is just heaven, surrounded by trees and with a great view of Tamarindo's bay! The house staff is top notch at what they do and very friendly. The property manager was very helpful since before we arrived. Also thanks Cristina for setting us up with an amazing catamaran and atv tour, we had a blast!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall my experience at El Chante was great. However, I am quite disappointed at the broker I worked with. Not only was she unable to be reached the entire stay, but she was also dishonest about the bathrooms which are 100% outdoor. Had I known this, I probably would not have rented this property with my family. The house staff was terrific.
